Silver rejoins him on the bed, pouring whiskey into each of the glasses he brought, giving one to Clip and setting the bottle on the end table.
"Alright, so there are two ways to drink whiskey. First is to drink it quickly, getting through burn as fast as possible. It is good way to get drunk quickly, but you can not enjoy flavor of drink this way, so sometimes it is waste of good whiskey. Alternatively, second way is to hold it in back of your throat, letting burn spread throughout your mouth and enjoying flavor before swallowing. It takes practice to take burn, but once you have it down, you get satisfaction of feeling warmth of drink spread throughout your being, burning in your throat, boiling in your stomach, and tasting like pure, melted gold."

“We have a hot dish. And some bread.” Placing it on the table. Then she comes out with two special plates.
“Smoked Salmon. Luis’s favorite.” She ruffles the top of Makade’s head, flopping his ears about. He scrunches, then bares his teeth. Waabishki giggles at the sight, and then sniffs the fillets fish before her.
