What's with the whitelisting? And, also why aren't threads being featured in the archive?

I guess higher-ups needs to step up and explain what's going on.
I may not be a mod, but I can answer this question.
Last night we had a bot spamming posts on every thread on /qa/ and /sp/ so they had to envoke a whitelist so the botting would stop.

The white list was enabled yesterday after a bot-raid. It was very recently turned off. Threads are not being featured because threads in the archive are now set never to expire

Perhaps you tried to post just as the rebuild was being done for turning the whitelist off
