>>3300Im really disappointed at how Ub is so dead.
On the matter of new boards, we might be ok like this for now, is there a need for something new to be discussed?
>>3302i suggest creating a thread with a poll, but in general i strongly lean to a traffic increasing board. take a good hard look at other chan sites, analyse what they dont have and what would be popular and put it here as a new board.
I don't think /ub/ is as dead as you might think. I see it rather frequently whenever I use overboard (which is often), and I see enough times to get a good impression of it. The posts also tend to be detailed often or not, which /sp/ is rarely. The times /sp/ is detailed, it's due to fantastical cringe sights or Glimmy bating. In defence of /1ntr/, I like the ngrs, but I'm sure they're probably just on their skypes and discords. Very elusive people. Now on the topic of a new board, a gun board might be the next logical step since that generates attention. I see it on the discord servers as well. The discord servers always takes away posts.
>>3307not bad, a /k/ board seems logical. we seem to have established a thematic habit or morhphin boards together, so what goes well with /k/?
perhaps an outdoors/cooking/survival/do it yourself kind of board.
>>3310not really sure about int, never used it myself. that kind of feels like what we already have with the default board.
personally i would really like if we made a lolcow/invasion/raid/SJW encyclopedia board where we can blacklist and indict people
>>3314what a blazing name, now we will learn how to build our own weapons.
>>3315I wonder how many lives it will take in its first year.
>>3309That doesn't. Seem like a good thing for an alt right site.
I mean they are already telling we are planning shootings..
>>3318i could not really be asked to give a fuck what the MSM and normies think about our site. and if push comes to shoves we will be thankful to have it.
>>3300I don't see us needing more
Shitposting:
>/sp/Politics and Ponies
>/mlpol/Games and spoopy shit
>/vx/Science and technology
>/cyb/Advice/fitness
>/üb/Anything we are really missing?
>>3319>what the MSM and normies think about our siteProbably something like "those nazis who are into bestiality".
>>3318The evidence is inequivocal, whether it were believed.
>>3320This
>>3320>>3321>>3322well, aside from the suggestion for an outdoors/gun board or a raid/sjwlolcow board we can always expand. over the course of the last 2 months i have noticed that the traffic to mlp is slowly but surely stifling. was is not for a couple of shitpost threads we had on /vx/ and /sp/ we would sometimes have barely any posts on the site on bad days.
thread quantity and quality on /mlpol/ leaves a great deal to be desired as well. an episode sticky resently had less than 10 posts long after the episode was over. a drawthread is nowhere to be found either, if you ignore the "Ocs of /mlpol/ thread. content creators are attracted and repulsed by places depending on the activity, so that problem creates more in turn.
my suggestion would be, give this site, its users and potential newcomers from outside something they want but cant have on other chansites. a traffic magnet. thats something we could definitly use. As someone from a board community that effectively died (pone on 8chan) i can definitively say i am concerned with the situation we are maneuvering ourselves in.
I am no member of the Admin team and have no desire to join and although i find it easy to get into a dialogue with staff here i must point out that the overall engagement with the site in regards to actual content is not as good as it could be. Same goes for Atlas in his designated leadership role. Where are we going, what are we going to do? What projects are there to be taken on? I was very alienated when i found out Atlas didnt even know about funding opportunity i suggested to the site months ago. MLPOL over the last few weeks struck me somewhat like a starving shipcrew on a broken boat without a captain. A couple handful of active posters wont carry a whole community for long. Its time to shift gears before we get into the negative growth even more.
MLP has been a dying franchise for years, Politics obviously not. So i dont think we will be running out of that sort of content anytime soon. So, what else can be done to stimulate growth?
>>3323Well we are obviously fucked for a reason, people dislike both Nazis and ponies.
If we were to grow up we should discuss Nazi ponies, produce more OC and make more people get an interest on Nazi pony porn.
>>3323>>3325The board is almost entirely NEET-free. Do you define success as constant engagement and posting? Making OCs, artfagging, and other content takes time esp for anons with little or no experience. Same goes for Admin, which is Lotus in case you missed that bit.
>>3325that is a hardwired problem we knew about since day 1. we are a niche interest community, however, we were underground for years. my personal aproximation is since 4mlpol day 2 we should have a pool of ~3.000 - 10.000 users worldwide. we need to get access to it and drain it to our site.
>>3326>Do you define success as constant engagement and postingNot entirely, but it has a significant effect.
I can not tell the economical whereabouts of our userbase. it is of course good that they participate in a healthy adult life. therefore it is only natural that development of abilities like writing, drawing, aquiring of political knowledge and similar key abilities to our community take time. however, there are users who already pursue one or several of these intersts. those are the MVP we need to get and keep here. This is crucial for our sites future. You can not sustain a site from shitposting only, but we need to keep a constant flow of postings going.
>>3327I would do like to help in this matter but all i'm good at is photoshoping things and i'm really lost when it comes to know what can i do to contribute.
>>3329>>3327Perhaps a collab board then?
>>3329i did not think the post was that great that it deserved to be framed, but thank you. ive been trying to pitch a 19th or 18th centure picture aryanne of that style for a while now.
>>3331maybe, we certainly could need some alliences with other sites, not necessaryly pony sites. i mentioned that before, but i do think Kiwifarms could be a good partner.
also on a sitenote the recent attempts of spambots to advertise CP here are good. that means the people who operate them consider our site important enough to post their spam here.
>>3333Football indeed anon
>>3332Its an obvious attempt to salt Mlpol.net against any who might wander in through mention via the dive-grass cup going on
>>3334we arent even competing, this is just the regular cup, not the pol cup. i can only imagine spammer picked up the name during stream chats.
>>3332>i did not think the post was that great that it deserved to be framedIt wasn't but i did liked the image quote so i felt like doing it anyways
>>3331How would a collab board work?
And with whom would we collaborate?
I mean, the creative threads around these parts tend to die rather quick, even if its as simple as just printing some papers and gluing them to walls
>Pic related >>3319If the MSM started paying attention to our site we'd probably have more traffic than we could handle. Courting controversy could actually help us if we do it right.
Also, I still think /ub/ would have been more successful if we'd called it /fartsprinkles/.
>>3333i just noticed that this was yet again an act of get thiefery. who did this?
>>3345explain to me how an unrelated one word reply without a picture in an ongoing thread is not get thiefery.
>>3346If it hadn't gone to football, it would've gone to some random comment.
If you want the GET, post faster.
>>3347THATS THE POINT OF THE WHOLE EXERCISE YOU HERETIC! YOU DONT TEMPER WITH THE WILL OF THE GODS!
>>3348Football IS the will of the gods
>>3336>how collab would workIDK that it would, but the idea is a board specifically geared toward ongoing projects and ventures. Video edits and creation, meme development, Mlpol related signage and materials all come to mind.
I guess, I'll start another Drawfag thread. Maybe, I'll make it a request thread too.
>>3314Putting my support for a /diyk/ board as well.
>>3314this sounds fantastic, it's pretty much assumed here that things are going towards a SHTF scenario, and this could help prepare people.
>>3323I've looked for other shop fsggits and artist but as far as I know some just lurk for now and yet to contribute OC wise.
If we do add a new board, I suggest something mixed with anime. Despite the /jp/ I have no issue with it and do miss discussing it tbh. Perhaps anime and torrents/request? /ant/
