Bugs you found, and changes I made
Just thought I'd create this thread where you can post any bugs or problems with the site you encounter. And also for me to post any big changes I made.
87 replies and 19 files omitted.
I see I have introduced a bug with diceroll so rolls are not made. Will fix it soon. Sorry for inconvenience. [1d10]
>>5911Hello Pupper, I've encountered a bug that appears when I open a link in a new tab. When I do so the options that I've selected seem to disappear, but only when I do that. If I click on a link normally all the options stay. It seems to only be occurring with Firefox, it kept the options intact with Pale Moon.
>>5915Is this specific options or all options?
I did quick test on FireFox and was not able to reproduce it. Did some simple option changes (theme change, embed links, etc.) and custom css which all carried over when opening up a new tab.
Do you have any plugins that sandboxes tabs or similar on FireFox?
>>5916>Is this specific options or all options? All of them.
>Do you have any plugins that sandboxes tabs or similar on FireFox?That's most likely it, I've got a lot of security-minded options changed in about:config so it would the appear to be more on my end. Apologies, and thanks for the quick response. Maybe I can tool around with it sooner or later and see if I get the same error.
Thinking about doing a little server maintenance tomorrow so there might be a short downtime at one point, but hopefully it won't last long (hopefully at most a few minutes). Nothing is set in stone regarding maintenance, but just a little heads up in case I find time to do it.
>>5998Any word on a new and accurate policy?
checkem I'm just trying to clarify, is that a 'no' on making an accurate, consistent, and enforceable policy?
It's fine, I am just looking for clarification if possible.
Do users and staff have any actual guidelines? Is there any standard, or is there a very deliberate double-standard (meaning, who 'we' like and who 'we' dont like)?
>>6001Nigger, will you piss off already? Derailing other threads is not going to get you what you want. Make a new thread, ffs.
>>6003Well, being as last time I got banned and shit, pardon me for refusing your 'good graces'
A shame, when carefully obfuscated wrongdoings are given the light of day. Oh, but not for me!
>>6005Lol, havent checked /qa/ much?
Can there be a function to "Favourite" threads, always seeing them at the top of the site over your non-favourite threads whether they were recently posted in or not?
>>6004I don't care what you got banned for. Stop shitting up every other thread. The rest of us are trying to be productive here, and getting derailed isn't helpful.
>>6007Did we ever have the option to watch threads on this site? I might be imagining it, but I feel like I had threads I was watching years ago.
>>6008So your solution is to ignore the issue and hope it goes away? Yeah, that's staff's solution too
>>6009Yes, watched threads was a thing in the old code
>>6011Wtf are you talking about? Post links plz
>>6011>So your solution is to ignore the issue and hope it goes away? The issue is in your head. With professional help and a bit of luck you might overcome your obsession.
>>6013>textbook narcissistic gaslighting>>6012Check the /qa/ rules and policy threads
>>6007I will look into adding this functionality to the code. I will have to do some experimenting on how to best implement it as I never used the watchlist myself. But making it so the selected threads gets on top of board pages and overboard is not a bad idea, just have to find a way to make it work in a good way.
>>6011So your solution is to shitpost aimlessly and disrupt other people's conversations until it somehow goes your way?
Great job. I'm sure that will work.
>>6017You can advise a better strategy than sunlight as a disinfectant?
>>6018You've been doing this for weeks and you've failed to produce any results other than pissing everyone off. It's not working.
>>6018>>6019>>6020Not pissing me off due to below resons.
Fucking lost an hours worth of carefully crafted words.
There's two different view points.
One is in the trees the other is the extremely wide forest.
This place is built on an honor systems, because of trust.
At the moment everything is fine. And it's ONLY fine.
The whole place is democracy based (without someone akin to Atlas) so it takes forever for anything is occur based on policy and rules.
Those rules are a mere formality that everyone is on the same page and is honoring everyone else and is respecting the trust by everybody.
Discipline means jack except in extremes, and due to the speed and amount of users. Which is a large amount /mlpol/ vets. Losing someone on a site of this size hurts enough to be felt.
You're both antagonizing eachother and it's basically fixed with talking, friendship, and some shitposting. Mostly the first two.
So you're in a deadlock because he doesn't know what's going on and has heard jack and seen nothing done on the policy page for the honor contract shit.
Nothing's happening 'cause on the day to day staff wise nothing is and has happened.
The perspectives have to be flipped so a proactive approach would be more valuable.
<See other threads for the long run down>pic related >>6023>But this will eventually break without action in a near future. That's an opinion and speculation.
>The ground will have to be disturbed to make that hole now.No need. Everything is fine.
>Else in the future 'quakes and shifts will tear apart what is loved by everyone.Aaaah, that eternal pessimist.
>and is relatively light compared to the future clusterfuck incoming where it'll be all hands on deckAgain poner, relax, friendship will prevail.
>>6024Not my post actually, I was citing it to suggest that theres more perspectives than mine, the people touting friendship while telling me to kill myself
which totally isnt staff btw, and the
>pic relatedThis could have been resolved
years ago, simply by making the words in the policy page
true. Whether means amending the policy OR adhering to it IDGAF. And no, 'Nah' isnt an acceptable response.
>>6025>over the top insistence>hyper sensible aka thin skinned poster>unreasonable expectations>And no, 'Nah' isnt an acceptable response.Nah.
To keep yourself fixated in a meaningless policy page is absurd. There so much shitposting to make and so many ponies to post.
>>6026Wait, the policy page really is meaningless? The policy page is supposed to be a place where the staff make promises to the users, promises they intend to keep.
>>6027>Wait, the policy page really is meaningless? It is for me, as I do my duties regularly and I do not cause trouble to my fellow poners.
In other words, I'm not a troublemaker and therefore I do not need to check myself or others against the site's policy.
>>6028The reason why is that there is zero reason not to change the policy page.
So yes it is 'useless' but that's with any given value. Changing it seems like a watse of time and if it is What the fuck is all the fuss about? Like dude it's three lines at most to reflect the new current situation. I understand throwing of invaders, but if it's
useless give me a break.
I'll write the damn thing by copy and pasting what's been said in the various threads.
>>6030Yes, but that's how trouble starts in paradise. Whatever since it doesn't matter I'll just post the 'new and improved' html in the change thread or something later.
>>6025You know, some of us agree that the policy page needs to be fixed, but you shitting up other threads like an autist is counterproductive.
>>6030That's a really bluepilled response too though, ngl.
Shitting up threads is one thing, but acting completely complacent is another.
>>6026The policy page is absolutely meaningful.
>>6018Shitposts is not exposure. You are absolutely not helping anyone like this
>>6032I'll be happy to rest my case when the situation is resolved. I've already lost friends and acquaintances over this. Aside from the occasion zing, if you think this is fun for me you can divest yourself of that idea
>>6034Your shitposting has already effectively derailed threads that were actually about amending the policy page, and plenty others. Don't kneecap other posters' discussions for whatever it is you're trying to do.
>>6035People want a discussion about the policy page? Sweet, can it happen now?
>>6036I wanted that. I still want that. I want it done productively.
Make another thread.
Minor bug or 'feature'.
Posts that are wrapped in color change the message to that color or effect. Currently seem harmless.
Nothing

>>6155Thanks. I will look into it and find a fix.
Added option to do color gradients, color cycle and color shift on text. More detailed information on how to use these new options can be found in the Help section of [options] dialog.
Color gradient (using colorgadient or gradient)
Color cycle (using colorcycle or cycle)
Color shift (using colorshift or shift)
The effects might be subject to slight changes and tweaking if deemed necessary.
could the oekaki tool be updated to take advantage of the emojis as stamps and also dice rolls somehow?
>>6231I have been trying to look for a better oekaki tool, but been unsuccessful in my searches, but been a while since I last looked. I will do a new search and test out the ones I find; could be that a new search will yield something that is usable, or that I will concede and sit down and try to make something. But making one from scratch is less likely as it probably will take a bit more work than desired, and would result in less paint tools than the current one has.
Not sure what you mean regarding implanting a diceroll into a paint tool.
>>6232im thinking that perhaps it would work by you placing a dice roll on the regular post box and then being able to tie the results of that roll to a "stamp"(more like placeholder) that you can place on the oekaki, and when you make the post it rolls and places the result both on the oekaki and the text post itself
also being able to quote text from posts and even dice rolls from others in the oekaki might be nice.
