To /pol/acks, what kind of /pol/ threads would you like to see moar of here, and what kind of new threads would you like to create? Sure, we have happening threads, but on days with few significant happenings the board can seem a bit starved for content. If you had to create one new thread every day, what kind of thread would it be? What content do you want to read moar about, and where's a good place to get links?
For our friends from /mlp/, how would you go about creating content for this board, without devolving into general-cancer? What kind of content do you want to see here, and how would you go about creating it?
>>1611I for one wish for /ptg/ to have a golden exception as well. Before April 7th, it was a comfy board to post in, despite the raids from outside influences. On April 1st, when /mlpol/ was formed, pic related was shared between both communities.
I'm sure this will get tons of backlash, but keep in mind the Reddit accusations were caused from oursiders such as March Against Trump and The Ride Side, most notably Richard Spencer.
If enough users were to post in it here, then hopefully it can be allowed here granted the content posted stays within and doesn't spread board wide. However, I doubt people are willing to leave /pol/, their home board.
>>1611>>1612I found an archive that shows when it began: around the time when the missile strike happened.
https://archive.is/iO47a >>1613So you say that was the exact time ptg went south?
>>1614I wouldn't say ptg, I'd rather say all of /pol/ went south after that day.
>>1615I thought most people thought it was bad before then?
>>1616There's shit, then there's putrid, rancid shit.
>>1617It was pretty comfy at times before Apr 7th, especially during April Fools since /pol/ technically didn't exist and the amount of /mlp/ posting porn drove away shitposters, it was an accident that actually worked.
>>1618This, it was already pretty shitty, but the shills were sure to strike the iron while it was hot on April 7th.
>>1612/ptg/ never should of been. The Primary was Pure. /ptg/ is Cancer and we M.A.G.A posters have no need for one, to be honest.
>>1612/tg/ used to be pretty comfy, desu. Even the meaningless awoo-posting was pretty fun. I'd pop in whenever I was feeling down and wanted some good news.
Now it's just a plebbit fuckfest, full of shills trying to start an inter-general war between /sg/ and /ptg/.
>>1621I'm inclined to agree with this. Now that Trump is president, his actions would be better handled in a series of individual threads
>>1621/(p)tg/'s role is complete: Elect Donalt Trump as President, just like UKIP's was to initiate Brexit. Its ok to have aroudn as updates within the administration.
>>1622Awooposting is what excites the thread, and Joeposting is what ends the thread. Its a repeating cycle. I always chime in when I feel the need to.
>>1623So instead of an /mlpol/ /ptg/, a rolling thread of current events in the Trump administration is fine? I agree that the reddit types need to fuck off, but /(p)tg/ is now part of /pol/ history, and has had good threads during Apr 1st.
Shame that hardware failure made me lose a lot of good pics. Always back up your files.
>>1624As applies to mlpol, just create threads on each individual Trump action or related set of Trump actions
>>1625If it takes off, assuming support for it comes as most users won't leave /pol/, wouldn't there be fear of creating a general out of it for conservation sake of the board?
I'd like to be proactive on it before it becomes a mess.
>>1626There is far greater fear of generals than there is of Donald Trump taking up space on the board. He is President, so it is probably worth it to have several threads, one for each distinct action or set of related actions and news stories. I would recommend conglomerating news stories into single threads though
Before this thread gets a bit off topic, aside from elements of the generals you left behind, what are the kinds of quality threads you'd all like to see on this board?
I was never that big of a thread maker, but for the past couple weeks I tried to make an effort to make at least one every other day to keep traffic up. Lately though I've had some trouble finding ideas without directly copy+pasting from 8/pol/, which I usually avoid doing (makes me feel like a thief). So I ask, what do you all consider to be a quality /pol/ thread?
>>1627>>1628Generally, threads with positive discussion, OC being shared, and minimal shitposting is an ideal quality thread. Then again, quality is subjective and its up to the anons to provide quality content.
I am now lurking at 4pol Christ gen, seems fine, well that is if you guys want to talk about spiritual stuff.
>>1630Well, we don't have any threads on that here
>>1631Well , there is islam question thread I made, feel free to made one dedicated to discussion about. faith at all
>>1628Stealing threads from 8/pol/ is pretty good idea. They have a good catalog. I try to create new threads every time I see an important news event. I also really like questions on abstract issues of political ideology and philosophy as well. Also I really like OC creation threads.
>>1632That is true
In general, I would like to see more ideologic discussion. Discussions which helps one decide on policy, renovate new ideas, and talk about political differences across political mindsets across the board. Out too big mascots are Aryanne and Leslie Fair, but I feel like it has all blended into one thing. And, that isn't too good. A unified is fine, but variety is what keeps thigs fresh. I think that's what some of the commies were trying to do a little. Albeit, they're commies, so they like to attention whore a bit. Anyways, like I said. I want to see some difference. Some debate, some discussion. Things outside of comtemporary news.
>>1630I did attempt to start a thread about paganism, as I was hoping to get positive feedback from pagans and learn more of it as a subject, but it seldom was more alien to others than I. I still have some spiritual discussion in mind, like Nietzsche or Plato. More philosophical spirituality than religious.
A tad off topic, but should we have a thread to compile terrorist attacks? I've seen so much of them, I think it would warrant it. Although, it could scare off discussion.
Oh yeah, and I would like to see some new pony threads too. Stickies for new episodes as well please. Preferably the American schedule.
Ponies here are a liveblood that I'd like to see more with my politics. I know some /pol/lacks haven't seen the show, but I'd like to see more pony central threads.
What if a good story and a good chan thrives on conflict and debate? That means you need competing views. Have we so successfully firewalled/moderated ourselves into safety that there is no one to debate/conflict with.
Why does 4can still function? Because it is full of competition. We aren't.
Make a pro commie/globalist board here and watch the conflicts raise the post count. Make an alt-brony board too and invite them. (half joking)
/pol/ and 4chins is sharp because of the constant attack.
We are comfy and asleep and have bored our self. We won our land and are languishing in it unopposed.
Agitation leads to activity, comfy leads to sleep.
>>1640I.. I can't tell if you're being ironic.
Interesting suggestions though. You're certainly right about /pol/ thriving on conflict. The last thing this board needs is to end up as a like-minded cerclejerk.
Aside from making new boards, how do you supposed we increase the enerdy of this board though?
>>1641Energy comes from agitation. You have to end our comfy.
>>1642But the mods protect us from agitation.
>>1640>>1642>>1644It is obvious when a conversation is productive or not, and there are obvious things like spam, where no one is enjoying the chaos. 4chan is at a point where it is the mainstream alternative.
> Why does 4can still function? Because it is full of competition. We aren't.Its not useful competition. Since the partyvan, it has become a place for people to blow off steam and not do much.
>/pol/ and 4chins is sharp because of the constant attack.I don't think the sharpness is observable for those that come later to the game, thus render it pointless.
A good way is to produce productivity is to do structural design for the community. And yes, systems are inherently oppressive and limiting, but it also creates value that we can then again, decompose it and challenge it.
another suggestion I have made in the past is to form a role called News Gatherers. They post 1, or whatever, relevant thread(s) a day. In return they become eligible to be future janitors/mods, perhaps even a free t-shirt/cup/sticker/badge/pixel-flag/something after X months continuous service.
>>1611I am sorry but I don't think I am the right one to ask.
Most of the time I spend developing things.
I rarely even play vidya or watch something.
All I can do is lurk, ask questions and give my shitty opinion.
>>1648>All I can do is lurk, ask questions and give my shitty opinion.Good enough so long as you're posting regularly.
What kind of things do you like to talk about?
>>1648>Most of the time I spend developing things.Sounds neat, like what kinda things?
>>1651I may have given a wrong description.
While I teach myself programming and develop one, I mostly develop my skills and knowledge.
Code, music, drawing...
I basically expand on everthing there is from cooking and survival over biology and psychology to mathematics and quantum mechanics.
I am shit at everything.>>1650>What kind of things do you like to talk about?I dunno. I am interested in everthing that helps me expand my understanding of the world.
I like philosophy but not in the normal way. I rarely go through books of the big ones and study what they said but I think a lot about their topics.
If something grabs my attention it just does.
>>1642We had some good agitation a couple weeks ago when a pair of communists came and started threads they argued in. Unfortunately it looks like they left
>>1644Wrong. Mods are here to ban raiders who come here with the sole intent of agitating. We are not here to protect you from being agitated by people who disagree with you. This is not a safe space.
>>1652To understand is to think, learn how to think. Thinking is finding meaning, understand what meaning is. Maps of meaning.
I'm going to bump this because I want to hear more of your opinions on what you want out of this board.
Horsefuckers, I've gathered that a lot of content was supposedly shoahed after some janitor named Scruffy (I hear complaints about it from time to time as I lurk /mlp/ to get acclimated with the fandom) allowed shitposters to reign free while he deleted popular threads. Is there any kind of good content that you guys want to see here that /mlp/ can no-longer provide you with? Ponies are %100 allowed here, so is there anything interesting you'd like to share with us nufags that the nu/mlp/ no longer supports?
Same thing goes for /pol/acks, desu. What kind of content would you like to discuss here that you have a harder time with on otherchans? I see that we've managed to create a healthy and comfy shill/plebbit-free /sg/. What other kinds of topics would you like to discuss here?
>>1913I for one would like to see more horsefuckers come here and talk politics, there was more insightful politics discussion on 4/mlpol/ than I ever saw on /pol/ in the months I lurked.
It seems that's not the kind of people that this place attracts though, I get the sense that it's mostly a subset of /pol/ that has made this place their home.
Anyone else notice a slight increase in traffic, but a decrease in political topics discussion?
>>2107I have noticed, but I think it might have to do with the lack of any real "happenings" worth talking about. But I am just waiting for that day. I think we will be seeing an upswing of trucks and compact of peace driving around during Christmas times. But before that I hope there will be some other news of a more uplifting nature like an Polexit or other factor that brings the end of the EU closer to hand. But I know what you mean. I might have been a bit down trotted lately and I will try to be more engaging and political in the time to come.
https://mlpol.net/qa/res/2095.htmlIt's according to this thread I made earlier.
One of the good things about /bfg/ is that it's against the rules to be anonymous as OP, where required to be a character from fictional creations, which greatly limits all forms of sex-images, rekt, fails, and more thread that tarnished /b/.
It also forces Anon to be creative with coming up OC for exclusively /bfg/
The name I'd really enjoy calling it:
/Best Friendly Groupies/ [Fit's when you'd get to see many MLP mane 6 interact with like Link, Dee-Dee, Action Hank, etc.
Here's one mockup file I made for the ideas in the other thread.
>>2109[I know I'm trying really hard to get my message across.]
It's like /b/ but with fictional characters as OP instead of Anonymous as the OP. Any Anonymous or real-life-face posting is illegal in /bfg/
I would've put real-life exclusions like Chris-Chan in appearance of Sonic faces, but it also means it becomes a furry board with cosplays, so I had to remove it. Anonymous can only post in the thread as long as it's NOT their thread.
>>2113You got a better idea that won't be like 4Chan /b/ or /pol/?
>>2114Not really.
I do think this one's interesting though.
>>2115Ah. I just thought that was an offense.
sorry lol Where do I send this idea directly to? If they want /B/, it's got to be as unique as the
double brother who stole AppleJack's audiences with a giant unique machine. Alongside, it would also being back that giant-pony-face event that happened in /mlp/ a while ago.
>>2116>Where do I send this idea directly to?Here, I guess.. It's /qa/ after all...
