Fuck yes, I'd watch the fanmade MLP I've always wanted. Even if it wasn't exactly like that, as long as it's better than S6-7, I'd watch the fuck out of it. And promote it. And if I wasn't poor as fuck, I'd pay it, too.
>>96226>if I wasn't poor as fuck, I'd pay it, too. That seems to be the crux of the problem, money. I retrieved some industry average costs, and assuming a shoestring budget with just above slave labor wages a 44 minute pilot episode would cost in total $63,000 to make right.
I haven't watched the show. Whats with the Gs? G4, G5
Maybe if there isnt a weeaboo amount of fanservice/provocation
>>96236G's are for generations. We are currently in G4.
>>96238Ah i remember this mlp thing is really old, like gameboy era or something
>>96223Fanmade would be better than what's coming down the pipe
>>96240MLP is about as old as CDs
Fillyfuntasia > MLP G5
http://www.funtasiadaily.com/Becuase keeping the cute is important.
>>96279Fillyfuntasia looks babyish and cancerous tbh.
>>96223I just started reading about the leak and dealing with the shock, but this is exactly what I started thinking about too.
A fanmade/funded show would definitely need to recycle a lot more animations just for time and budget reasons. That got me thinking, how easy could you make making episodes, if the most common things like walking animations and lip syncing could be streamlined? Is there something like Steam Film Maker for flash puppets just so the fandom could realistically produce something without Hasbro's resources?
I have plenty of creativity to come up with infinite scripts for whatever topics, but aside them and storyboards I'm still just an idea guy.
I went to a Pony convention a few months ago and there was a panel there by a group of fan animators who were making a pretty sophisticated-looking project called Equestrian Tales. I guess it's still in development and they're keeping most of the details about it pretty deliberately quiet, but from what they demoed it looks like serious business. I guess they worked out some kind of agreement with Hasbro too so it's a sanctioned project that is unlikely to get shoahed. The art they showed is pretty sophisticated looking and they claim they have Don Bluth on the project as a consultant or something.
https://www.equestriadaily.com/2015/06/equestrian-tales-new-fan-animated.htmlPretty sure this is it. There's not a lot of information right now, they said they were keeping it quiet until they got more of it done, but I get the impression there is a lot of serious work going into this, and I don't think it's going to be just another overhyped fan project that never gets finished.
Anyway, something to keep an eye out for.
couldn't we make our own show if it was low quality and the episodes were short? I know we're small but do we have any animators or writers? we could always try to organize something with the broader /mlp/ communities on 4chan and 8chan as well
