I was going to revive the Christian Pony thread with some Advent wishes, but you godless heathens let it die. No biggie, being autists means we never use the page scrolling buttons anyway.
Christmas is the junction of the old and the new in a year. It falls on the winter solstice and therefore coincides with ancient pagan festivals based on this, most notable Saturnalia. Christmas is in the most barren time of winter; at the time of darkness and death a new light will arise and shine forth with new life as the cycle starts over. Christmas is ultimately transformative: when times look to be most hopeless and empty greatness comes into the world as God never forgets His promises.
Yet Christmas cannot exist without an Advent, a purificatory time of self-examination, remembrance of the past year, and preparation for the joyful times ahead. Spiritually this is neglected in the modern world as students cram for semester exams, parents hunt for shopping deals, and children (of the miniature or adult variety) stuff themselves on delicacies. However, Advent is a time of prayer, penance, and fasting even moreso than a time to decorate, busy oneself, and commingle. It is better to be a Mary than to be a Martha (Luke 10:38-42).
Although we, despite being such a small community, are of different faiths, it is essential to remember and understand the traditions of Christendom. Without Christianity there would be no West, as it is the one thing that unites the European peoples together, even closer than race does. Without Christianity there is no West. You don't have to be Christian to respect this.
So, I feel it would do no harm to share the Gospel reading for each Sunday of Advent:
Jesus said to his disciples: “There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on earth nations will be in dismay, perplexed by the roaring of the sea and the waves. People will die of fright in anticipation of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. But when these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand.
“Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise like a trap. For that day will assault everyone who lives on the face of the earth. Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man.”
So many forget the foundations we made for ourselves and then wonder how we end up in a society lacking in morality. Keep sharing the Scriptures and help others understand what we believe.
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (2 Timothy 4:1-4)
Just found this today. The founder of Domino's Pizza, Tom Monaghan, sold his company, his yacht, his helicopter, his Bugatti Royale, his Rolls-Royce, and his private island to build an entire town for Catholics in South Florida. This private community is built around a church and a Catholic University.
This is quite interesting and may prove to be a community for Catholics as Salt Lake City is for Mormons. The ACLU is throwing a fit about it but they have no legal basis to challenge the town. Planned size will be about 11,000 inhabitants and would be a nice place to base a Crusade to rid Florida of degenerates.
This is why I love secessionism and anarcho-capitalism: they naturally foster movements for like-minded people to found homogenous communities. Ave Maria will be free of abortion, pornography, contraceptives, SJWs, gays, (((griffons))), and jihadis. It's practically paradise on earth if you're a traditionalist.
>>92997 I have a few arguments against the Catholics, but if they stand on these ideals then they are welcome to crusade the whole county for all I care. The main issue you need to watch out for is corruption as all it takes is one leader to have some kind of scandal for the whole thing to collapse. People are looking for any reason to tear these sort of things down. Pray they don’t ever find a reason.
Dear god, please grant us the strength to save our people and at last enact a final solution to the jewish problem. In the name of your son Jesus and your champion Hitler, amen.
Holy father, forgive me for saying "Happy Holidays" like a cucked coward to a Indian poo in loo bitch instead of saying "Merry Christmas" last year. It was a weird slip of the tongue. It's (((their influence))). I normally say Merry Christmas and I ask you that you keep giving me the strength and courage to keep saying Merry Christmas and strength, endurance, and technique to knock out any SJW aggressors and violent arabs who want to start a fight with me for saying Merry Christmas.
Repentance alone can save one from the all-consuming fire. Purity is a practically unattainable goal yet it is the effort and intention put forth that makes one pure. Do not let others drag you down to their level but let yourself be living testament to how the struggle actually makes life fulfilling:
John the Baptist appeared, preaching in the desert of Judea and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” It was of him that the prophet Isaiah had spoken when he said: A voice of one crying out in the desert, Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths. John wore clothing made of camel’s hair and had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. At that time Jerusalem, all Judea, and the whole region around the Jordan were going out to him and were being baptized by him in the Jordan River as they acknowledged their sins.
When he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Produce good fruit as evidence of your repentance. And do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you, God can raise up children to Abraham from these stones. Even now the ax lies at the root of the trees. Therefore every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. I am baptizing you with water, for repentance, but the one who is coming after me is mightier than I. I am not worthy to carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fan is in his hand. He will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into his barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”
Like John, we are called to share truth to those who are willing to listen. Few may take heed, many may dismiss us as crazy, but that does not make the truth any less important or our duty any less sacred. One day we will be vindicated and the Truth will be evident for all to see.
A man named John was sent from God. He came for testimony, to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to testify to the light.
And this is the testimony of John. When the Jews from Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to him to ask him, "Who are you?" He admitted and did not deny it, but admitted, "I am not the Christ." So they asked him, "What are you then? Are you Elijah?" And he said, "I am not." "Are you the Prophet?" He answered, "No." So they said to him, "Who are you, so we can give an answer to those who sent us? What do you have to say for yourself?" He said: "I am the voice of one crying out in the desert, 'make straight the way of the Lord,'" as Isaiah the prophet said." Some Pharisees were also sent. They asked him, "Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ or Elijah or the Prophet?" John answered them, "I baptize with water; but there is one among you whom you do not recognize, the one who is coming after me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to untie." This happened in Bethany across the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
It is not enough to simply wait for Salvation to come into the world and help us; we must help foster the conditions necessary for goodness to reach us. In all things we must perform God's will, as He has a plan set from eternity that encompasses the whole world yet has places for even the smallest parts. The more that we accept God's goodness the better the world will be and, perhaps, the sooner the Parousia will come.
At any time we can say "no," as Mary had the opportunity. Saying "yes" will bring fierce worldly struggle and hardships but the rewards will be so much the greater. Therefore the call is not just a challenge but also an invitation of love:
The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin's name was Mary. And coming to her, he said, "Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you." But she was greatly troubled at what was said and pondered what sort of greeting this might be. Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
"Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end." But Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I have no relations with a man?" And the angel said to her in reply, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God. And behold, Elizabeth, your relative, has also conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren; for nothing will be impossible for God." Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." Then the angel departed from her.
Eternity, by its very nature, is the only thing that remains constant, as it is embodied in God. We exist as we are only by the conscious decision and action of God. Our greatest purpose, therefore, is to know, love, and serve God. Yet how can one serve faithfully without love, and how can one love without any knowledge of love's object? Christ is the personified Answer, as by coming into the world He taught us of the nature of God, His infinite worthiness for our love, and how we can express such love.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be. What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race; the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. A man named John was sent from God. He came for testimony, to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to testify to the light. The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world came to be through him, but the world did not know him. He came to what was his own, but his own people did not accept him.
But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe in his name, who were born not by natural generation nor by human choice nor by a man's decision but of God. And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father's only Son, full of grace and truth. John testified to him and cried out, saying, "This was he of whom I said, 'The one who is coming after me ranks ahead of me because he existed before me.'" From his fullness we have all received, grace in place of grace, because while the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. The only Son, God, who is at the Father's side, has revealed him.
God always fulfills His promises. No matter how hopeless the world may seem, there will a sanctifier sent to us to rectify the wrongs that afflict humanity. We shall live to see hope rekindle itself in our hearts and in the world.
When the days were completed for their purification according to the law of Moses, They took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, just as it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that opens the womb shall be consecrated to the Lord, and to offer the sacrifice of a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons, in accordance with the dictate in the law of the Lord. Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, awaiting the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Christ of the Lord. He came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to perform the custom of the law in regard to him, He took him into his arms and blessed God, saying: “Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you prepared in sight of all the peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel.” The child’s father and mother were amazed at what was said about him; and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted —and you yourself a sword will pierce— so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.” There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived seven years with her husband after her marriage, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day with fasting and prayer. And coming forward at that very time, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem. When they had fulfilled all the prescriptions of the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth. The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favor of God was upon him.

Christ already knows the path of salvation for each one of us; it's our job to pursue this path with His help. For the more material aspects of life, the righteous can also hope for miracles. These miracles may seem superficially almost trivial, but such marvels serve to reinforce faith and trust in God, which worked for the disciples at Cana. Also keep in mind that, if there is a concern that faces us or others, we can intercede to the Blessed Mother and to the saints. They are all friends of Jesus, and no one has known His love like Mary.
There was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine." And Jesus said to her, "Woman, how does your concern affect me? My hour has not yet come." His mother said to the servers, "Do whatever he tells you." Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washings, each holding twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus told them, "Fill the jars with water." So they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter." So they took it. And when the headwaiter tasted the water that had become wine, without knowing where it came from (although the servers who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom and said to him, "Everyone serves good wine first, and then when people have drunk freely, an inferior one; but you have kept the good wine until now." Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs at Cana in Galilee and so revealed his glory, and his disciples began to believe in him.
Redemption awaits us all. Jesus wants to save us despite our mistakes and our sins. The worst sinners are called to salvation alongside the holiest saints. This does not mean sin is at all acceptable. On the contrary, one must detest his sin and remove it all as one puts dirty laundry in a bin. We are fallen human beings who, afraid of the future, shiver together and despair in secret. We must not be afraid but rather boldly shake off our guilty transgressions and with abject confidence ask God for grace towards salvation. It is by no means easy but the Home waiting for us is worth everything.
Jesus went out along the sea. All the crowd came to him and he taught them. As he passed by, he saw Levi, son of Alphaeus, sitting at the customs post. Jesus said to him, "Follow me." And he got up and followed Jesus. While he was at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners sat with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many who followed him. Some scribes who were Pharisees saw that Jesus was eating with sinners and tax collectors and said to his disciples, "Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?" Jesus heard this and said to them, "Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do. I did not come to call the righteous but sinners."
When the Lord calls us to do what is right, we cannot tarry. You cannot look back at the plow or the nets: that is, the World. We are built for better things than worldly concerns. As painful as it can be, we must be prepared to abandon everything, even our own lives, for the sake of God. Decisiveness is a virtue; decisiveness for the sake of virtue is therefore virtue squared upon itself. Shouldering the burdens that comes with wholeheartedly accepting God's plan can be painful, but God will take care of us the more we let him. Surrender of the self is therefore liberation.
When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew to Galilee. He left Nazareth and went to live in Capernaum by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali, that what had been said through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled: Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the way to the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles, the people who sit in darkness have seen a great light, on those dwelling in a land overshadowed by death light has arisen. From that time on, Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
As he was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; they were fishermen. He said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him. He walked along from there and saw two other brothers, James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in a boat, with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. He called them, and immediately they left their boat and their father and followed him. He went around all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and curing every disease and illness among the people.

Sorry for the late response, some things came up. Related: A podcast I found recently from a Catholic pastor that sums up the religious crisis of our time. Keep in mind that, no matter how much the Enemy tries, most of the population in the West is not actually made of atheists. Rather than eradicate faith outright it is far easier to water it down, to turn religion or spiritualism into a feel-good exercise devoid of conviction. This is the component of "moralistic theistic deism," which is an attempted facsimile of Christianity and does not intend to transform the world, but to turn the populace into an apathetic blob that thinks of God little and thinks of virtue less. People who have centered their beliefs around "being agreeable" and "respecting others" may have opinions but cannot act to save the world from degeneracy and corruption.
If you are ever afraid, do not hesitate to immediately and fervently call upon God. Do not let your sins weigh you down, as God will always give you the opportunity to regain grace. You need fear nothing, physical or immaterial.
On that day, as evening drew on, Jesus said to his disciples: "Let us cross to the other side." Leaving the crowd, they took Jesus with them in the boat just as he was. And other boats were with him. A violent squall came up and waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was already filling up. Jesus was in the stern, asleep on a cushion. They woke him and said to him, "Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?" He woke up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Quiet! Be still!" The wind ceased and there was great calm. Then he asked them, "Why are you terrified? Do you not yet have faith?" They were filled with great awe and said to one another, "Who then is this whom even wind and sea obey?"
When Jesus said "Repent, and believe in the Gospel" the order is quite explicit. No, one cannot say "I agree with what is stated and so I will resolve to change my life in the future." To believe in Christ one must cast out his inner evil and accept to be changed utterly, to have the very self be subjugated to a Higher Purpose. This is part of the fallacy of "Moralistic Theistic Deism," as this genius pastor states (I recommend listening to more of his sermons. You would be hard pressed to find a preacher more cogent on social ills). MTD is merely belief and nothing more; it is akin to the Pharisaical Judaism that Jesus struggled against. Without repentance one cannot recover from sin and certainly cannot obtain forgiveness. However, if you start first by transforming your life, as Christianity demands, and then look at the teachings of Christ, you will find them much more sublime and a true map to Heaven.
On leaving the synagogue Jesus entered the house of Simon and Andrew with James and John. Simon’s mother-in-law lay sick with a fever. They immediately told him about her. He approached, grasped her hand, and helped her up. Then the fever left her and she waited on them. When it was evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were ill or possessed by demons. The whole town was gathered at the door. He cured many who were sick with various diseases, and he drove out many demons, not permitting them to speak because they knew him.Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed. Simon and those who were with him pursued him and on finding him said, “Everyone is looking for you.” He told them, “Let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach there also. For this purpose have I come.” So he went into their synagogues, preaching and driving out demons throughout the whole of Galilee.
Sorry for the late update, business and internet issues kept me from posting on Sunday
Keep in mind that no matter how much we try to improve ourselves, there are factors that are beyond our control no matter what we do. In these cases, only God can help us. And lo, does He want to help! God will help us reach home, our true home, which is Heaven. Heaven, as the holy ordering of creation and the summation of all that is good, is the best possible result one would want. Just as to help another in the world one must sacrifice so to reach Heaven we have to sacrifice part of ourselves. Yet it will not be forced upon us. God presents us the choice to join Him, just as we also have choices to develop our talents, work a job, get married, and start a family. Christianity is, essentially, the Magic of Friendship.
A leper came to Jesus and kneeling down begged him and said, "If you wish, you can make me clean." Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand, touched him, and said to him, "I do will it. Be made clean." The leprosy left him immediately, and he was made clean. Then, warning him sternly, he dismissed him at once.
He said to him, "See that you tell no one anything, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them."
The man went away and began to publicize the whole matter. He spread the report abroad so that it was impossible for Jesus to enter a town openly. He remained outside in deserted places, and people kept coming to him from everywhere.
Friends in Christ, I am sorry for not updating promptly. The Chinese Spring Festival has gobbled up the past few days and local internet is limited. Such lapses shouldn't happen again.
Remember that Jesus stooped completely to our lowest level for our sakes. By touching the leper to make him clean, Jesus by this act made Himself unclean according to the Law. The significance of this cannot be understated. Leprosy in the ancient world was considered by many to be worse than death; it did not mean just pain and suffering but also complete exclusion as worse than vermin. Jesus by coming to save us did not come to make bad men good or good men better; he came to make dead men live!
Yet life is not a singular defining point, but rather an ongoing process that sustains us, as our hearts continuously pump to sustain us. Just so is grace. Baptism alone will not save you; you must resolve to uphold Christ in your hearts and do so at all times. Most Christians do not go to church; they are as dead as a corpse. Go to church; Sunday Mass is the heartbeat that sustains us through life. It is the least you can do.
The Spirit drove Jesus out into the desert, and he remained in the desert for forty days, tempted by Satan. He was among wild beasts, and the angels ministered to him.
After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God: "This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."
>>121169 Anon, do not lose hope. God will not give you a burden too great for you to bear. See this not as a threat but as an opportunity to strengthen yourself.
(Unfortunately, I cannot fit a very good sermon into this post with it being able to load on time; I'll try again and just link to it if I have to)
Spiritual illness abounds across the modern West, but the most common strand, one which cuts across lines of nationality and ideology, is acedia. This is a form of world-weariness or lethargy that arises from cynicism and apathy. It is impossible to avoid such temptation after exposing oneself to the wider world with all its dark secrets. Unfortunately, I myself have contracted such a case, as you might have guessed from my consistently tardy posting. Not only in secular matters but also spiritual affairs I have grown nonchalant and slacking. It is nearly impossible to free oneself from such sloth because it is practically a Catch-22: to get over this bad habit one must exercise a good output of energy, which this pernicious vice restricts. The ideal thing to do is to reapply oneself to spiritual pursuits and cast off material distractions. I regularly waste a couple of hours every day idly checking things online rather than working at the many tasks I have given myself. Christ is ready to be your life-coach if you let him.
Jesus came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of land that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob's well was there. Jesus, tired from his journey, sat down there at the well. It was about noon.
A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give me a drink." His disciples had gone into the town to buy food. The Samaritan woman said to him, "How can you, a Jew, ask me, a Samaritan woman, for a drink?" —For Jews use nothing in common with Samaritans.— Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God and who is saying to you, 'Give me a drink, ' you would have asked him and he would have given you living water." The woman said to him, "Sir, you do not even have a bucket and the cistern is deep; where then can you get this living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us this cistern and drank from it himself with his children and his flocks?" Jesus answered and said to her, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again; but whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst; the water I shall give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." The woman said to him, "Sir, give me this water, so that I may not be thirsty or have to keep coming here to draw water."
Jesus said to her, "Go call your husband and come back." The woman answered and said to him, "I do not have a husband." Jesus answered her, "You are right in saying, 'I do not have a husband.' For you have had five husbands, and the one you have now is not your husband. What you have said is true." The woman said to him, "Sir, I can see that you are a prophet. Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain; but you people say that the place to worship is in Jerusalem." Jesus said to her, "Believe me, woman, the hour is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You people worship what you do not understand; we worship what we understand, because salvation is from the Jews. But the hour is coming, and is now here, when true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth; and indeed the Father seeks such people to worship him. God is Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in Spirit and truth." The woman said to him, "I know that the Messiah is coming, the one called the Christ; when he comes, he will tell us everything." Jesus said to her, "I am he, the one speaking with you."
At that moment his disciples returned, and were amazed that he was talking with a woman, but still no one said, "What are you looking for?" or "Why are you talking with her?" The woman left her water jar and went into the town and said to the people, "Come see a man who told me everything I have done. Could he possibly be the Christ?" They went out of the town and came to him. Meanwhile, the disciples urged him, "Rabbi, eat." But he said to them, "I have food to eat of which you do not know." So the disciples said to one another, "Could someone have brought him something to eat?" Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of the one who sent me and to finish his work. Do you not say, 'In four months the harvest will be here'? I tell you, look up and see the fields ripe for the harvest. The reaper is already receiving payment and gathering crops for eternal life, so that the sower and reaper can rejoice together. For here the saying is verified that 'One sows and another reaps.' I sent you to reap what you have not worked for; others have done the work, and you are sharing the fruits of their work."
Many of the Samaritans of that town began to believe in him because of the word of the woman who testified, "He told me everything I have done." When the Samaritans came to him, they invited him to stay with them; and he stayed there two days. Many more began to believe in him because of his word, and they said to the woman, "We no longer believe because of your word; for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is truly the savior of the world."
