I suggest joining the AfD, not because they are fascist, but because they are moderate. A leeway of sorts that has potential. Bide your time by then, and know your pitfalls; study your strategy, know your policies, and know when the time is to come. Bringing up AfD again, I have to make some comparisons. First look to the Austrian right. The FPO has been a radical party per say for many years that has been gaining ground for years. Up until this year, have they gained substantial power with a right wing coalition; this is what you want. And, what I call the Austrian technique. Basically keep on pushing and hope the centre right moves more right; ÖVP & FPO in Austria's case. I believe the same can happen in Germany, look out for Sven Rissmann of the CDU. There's fertile soil. Then, comes the aspect of the coming financial crash. This might scary and even bad, but we all know this fuels change. During then, the time will come to capitalise on the crisis. Change might happen democratically or non-democratically, whatever the case may be; keep your policies in mind. One solution to consolidate power against international finance (and the petrodollar) is to join BRICS-Brazil, Russia, Iran, China, South America- which doesn't mind one party powers. Don't think the AfD is good enough? Parties can change. Hitler came to the German Worker's Party, rose the party to popularity, then joined a coalition with the conservatives. Again, the Austrian technique comes up, use it. On the point of change; the National Socialists were particularly divided & a lot of wings were different ideologically, some were fervently anti-capitalist (not very communistic but like Strasser, including Goebbels), then Hitler came to unite the party essentially while deciding the direction, but even then he had his problems with division; see the Night of the Longknives (although, that was in the response to a Jewish assassination.) The AfD has much of the same qualities, Petri (apart of the moderate wing) left because they 'concerned with real politicks", meaning in the end the radical wing won. So, there's possibilities, but you have to keep the press in mind. Remember Merkel has been setting on top since 2005, and will take another term.

The NPD themselves are plagued with informants & has becpme little more than a pawn themselves. Even if the AfD were a controlled opposition, all it would take is cutting off the head with proper expulsion. Reign in power through infiltration & takeover. The AfD has already been shown to have the radicals win as I mentioned with the situation with Petri. Gauland leads now, but I see as easily out-paced by a stronger cult of personality. Think Drexler. The NSDAP itself held people in power with questionable loyalty such as Schacht, whom it could have been a better choice in keeping more loyal members like Feder (wrote the NSDAP Economic Policies.) In my hummble opinion, I would take pragmatism over ideological loyalty in state takeover. Otherwise, the few options are cut down to violent revolution or failing to seize the moment of opportunity. A good alternative is a junta, however the risk of loyalty lies.

I like how the danish newspaper directly calls the perpetrator out as a rapefugge, i took a look at the german article, no mention in the headline, called the criminal mostly a "young man", took them 3 paragraphs in to mention that he was not an ethnic german. I should read danish newspapers more often. The news reporting seems to be much less censored.

Take the next economic crisis, they would be willing to suck up to anyone stable afterwards. Germany could be that one if they join BRICS soon enough.
