>>56620I remember watching the entire series of this video, but I can't remember a thing about it. Suffice to say, I remember when Korra came out. I watched a few episodes, then never watched it again.
>>56623>I remember when Korra came out. I watched a few episodes, then never watched it again.Same with me. I'm not even in the least bit motivated to give it another chance either...
>>56623It's bad. It's fucking bad. The review videos explain why and in the perfect way for a "Sequel" so soaked in SocJus.
>>56625I watched a lot of E;R's videos, I understand his points, and they're rather valid. Nice sense of humour.
>>56620Kora killed the name Avatar it's like they had the movie writers make the show.
Kora was annoying and bitchy she has none of the creativity that ang had. Ang was a goofy loveable character you could tell he was in over his head but doing the best he could and still having fun on the side. Katara was a great mother character and streinght man for the job. Sakka was a gift to the fucking world! Sakka is was one of the greatest comic relief characters of our time because unlike most comic relief he has a serious side he has depth.
In avatar the characters grow and age as the events they go through show them they start off as kids on an adventure but end as hardened young adults.
May Kora go down in history as the bad fancitcion she was and may Ang and the gang be remembers as one of the greatest TV shows of the mid to late 2000s
>>56620i watched some episodes of Avatar on accident. I didnt think it was to special, just an attempt of westernized anime. Did not think it was trash either, some characters were nice, like the daughter of the fire lord or the old uncle. watched maybe one episode of korra by accident so i cant really form an opinion on it.I was surprised they already had to resort to a spin off series. thats a sign for bad writing staff. Did not really like the forced insertion of brown people into an asian themed universe.
its a nickelodoen cartoon, so who really cares. As much as TV in general goes down the drain so does the production quality of cartoons.
>>56633This was my first experience with a fandom desu. I loved ATLA once you get past the first season it gets great till then its just world building and character development. I'd say its still my favorite cartoon of all time if not favorite show of all time even beating mlp for top spot. LOK did it a huge disservice and killed everything in the world and reconned a lot of the lore in an incoherent way. Don't watch LOK but I'd strongly suggest ATLA if you have free time.
I watched all of LOK mostly hoping it would "get good" but it never did. The characters were a trainreck and the plot was shallow. The then killed the world I knew and loved and gave the villains potential but never kept them past one season so they were still pretty useless.
Still E;R is probably my favorite content creator on Jewtube just because he's a /pol/ack and has the humor. If I recall correctly he shilled on /pol/ once and thats how I found his work. I also like him because he hates everything I do for mostly the same reasons, that is that these shows are shit and have left wing propaganda in them.
Never saw ATLA but I watched the fuck out of LOK. Loved the animation style, the fights, and the humor. The character development could have been better, but overall I enjoyed the series.
Someone redpill me on how ATLA far outclasses LOK and how I'm a shit if I don't watch it.
Korra is absolutely 100% garbage -1/10 shit.
Airbender is one of the best shows of all time. I originally saw it in french, and it's significantly worse than the English original due to word play, call backs and hidden meanings completely being left out.
Airbender is definitely not red or blue pilled though. A lot of it is about finding your own personal identity. Who you are and what YOU believe. It also values hard work and actually facing your problems head on instead of being a crybaby bitch about them. But it also shows the danger of loving your country too much, it points out that morality is completely relative and that most of the enemy are just people looking for love and happiness just as much as you. Iroh is a major anti-red pill yet one of the best characters. Watch his section in tales of ba sing se. Fighting for something someone else instilled in you is the biggest sin in Airbender. The show is entirely about not looking at life in black or white, but the infinite shades of grey that change from every perspective. Even the Avatar is loved and hated depending on how he impacted various groups.
Korra is SJW bullshit, as you said, about being privileged and whining about shit.
>>56669Soz I forgot to reply to this.
I'm kind of hard in rating Korra, on it's own it's an above average show. But ATLA's mere existence raises the bar so high that it's an impossible act to follow. I highly suggest binge watching it right now.
>>56680>>56684>-1/10 shit.>I highly suggest binge watching it right now.Does it have any redeeming qualities or not?
>>56688>Never saw ATLA but I watched the fuck out of LOK. Loved the animation style, the fights, and the humor. The character development could have been better, but overall I enjoyed the series. The fights, animation style, humor are all equal. The character development is the best of any show I've ever seen, including the likes of Breaking Bad. It's literally what makes ATLA so great.
>>56690>ATLAOh, you meant Avatar.
Yeah I binge-watched that whole thing.
What if we turned this into a raid? One guy posts a "Sequel" fanfic that does to LOK what LOK did to ATLA, cheapening bending and giving special bending types to too many characters and making the new Avatar someone that could easily kick the old one's ass. Many more people (You) start liking the fic and calling it amazing and brilliant.
>>56824im neither deep into western cartoons nor anime, but i dont see why we cant have both on the board. A waifu is a waifu and you gotta watch something to kill time.
>>56824Nobody likes a purist, unless he's a racial purist anon.
>>56620>>56841>>56844The issue isn't about purity. Argument over posting humanized, anthro or vanilla characters would be about purity. This is not the case.
This is about someone posting ANIME topic on POLITICS AND PONY board. This topic has nothing to do with either politics or ponies.
>>56851we dont have an anime board, until we get one we might as well post this stuff here. at the end of the day theres a 1000 times more anime art than pony art, to the point where some pony artists either draw in an anime style or just draw mlp characters like anime. dont be so picky.
>>56868http://boards.4chan.org/pol/thread/1355247704/pol/ barely managed to blabber out anything political. 6 replies
But look at /mlp/, the thread is still up.

>at the end of the day theres a 1000 times more anime art than pony art, to the point where some pony artists either draw in an anime style or just draw mlp characters like animeThen why not just upload /mlp/ anime content?
>we dont have an anime board, until we get one we might as well post this stuff here.In case of /cyb/ and /vx/ there have been discussion and voting on the matter first and posting after that. Besides, we still have other boards to populate, more slooow boards won't do us much good.
>>56898Don't get me wrong, I don't hate anime, I watch it too but we should uphold some quality standards for the boards.
>>56851This is someone posting POLITICS on a POLITICS AND PONY board. This is someone suggesting we raid the Legend Of Korra fandom, and have some fun at their expense. This is someone starting a discussion on what a show that does to LOK what LOK did to ATLA would be like.
Now to get us back on-topic...
LOK turned metalbending into a common skill for police redshirts. Only "Cool people" like the "Angry womyn chief" and "Fascist Metalbender Great Uniter" could be good at it. What if this fic took place after LOK, and everyone got the ability to bend at least one element and at least one special(steam/metal/lava/gravity) element?
>>56929>This is someone posting POLITICS on a POLITICS AND PONY board. This is someone suggesting we raid the Legend Of Korra fandom, and have some fun at their expense. This is someone starting a discussion on what a show that does to LOK what LOK did to ATLA would be like. How and why would we raid them? What purpose would this serve and what would we gain? From what I read in this thread, this cartoon is a dead horse now. Most of the former fans will have moved on.
>>56935yep, there are tons of other places where our effort can make more impact than with LOK.
>>56935We'd raid them by making an anti-them fanfic and forcing it to the top of Fanfiction.Net charts for reviews and favorites, and we'd raid them because this is a whitepilled* show that got a shitty LGBT bluepilled sequel. Also, the show just got a new comic in which Korra and Asami tell all their friends that they're dating, and everyone takes it well. Then it claims Sozin(Firelord Hitler) banned gay relationships and marriage in the Fire Nation, making him even "More" evil.
What caught my attention? Straight and gay people are calling this pointless pandering and only the "I'm totally gay! Look how gay I am for my fictional character babies! I luv them!" tumblrinas liked it. This would be a good time to drive a wedge between them and redpill some people on the LGBTQUA+ community, a gaggle of degenerates run by professional faggots that attack bi and gay people for not toeing their party line.
*Whitepilled is my new word for the idea that you should think for yourself and seek the truth out for yourself. Not quite redpilled, where you know the truth. It's the state where you're willing to reach out to the truth.
We have /1ntr/, but sufficiently enough /mlpol/ has always been a catch all. The argument that this is about quality doesn't stand up so much, as the quality of this discussion has maintained consistent with the quality of the overall board. However, it would be nice to see /1ntr/ become a bit more lively.
>>56949So, you want to establish famous pro right fanfiction in a bluepilled fandom of a poorly written cartoon with little leftover fansfiction to strike a blow against the gay community?
The idea is good but that sounds like a lot of time and effort for a prospect with little range and impact.
>>56950>but sufficiently enough /mlpol/ has always been a catch all. Imo it seens like that because /pol/ content can be pretty diverse. Self improvement, politics in video games, politics in anime(this thread isnt really about politics in LOK), economy, health, business, discussing segenerate stuff...
Seeing /mlpol/ as something remotely similar to /b/ can be dangerous. (They) can come in here and gradually fill up our catalog with random threads that just nees to be in sync with political views of our userbase. Like this, they can shift board culture from mlpol content to mlpol + random content.
Haven't you learned from gun laws already? (They) do it gradually, restricting automatic weapona first (USA) until in the end, they take away even your knives(UK).
>>57002We do have the right tools to deal with such a thing; and if the problem ever to were arise, it would be dealt with communally. I don't advocate for the degeneration of the board further, even finding some funposting threads out of taste. Hell, OP isn't hard to follow, and his threads has always been of questionable quality. I am not taking a stance for /mlpol/ to be like /b/, but for the continuation of this discussion. It should not be stopped at all based any arbitrary, nor do I think it should be moved to another board. One has to remember that this board is also about a pony series, so one simple talk about another cartoon can't do much harm in the long run. Now, another one and we might have a problem. Nonetheless, rule 11 would be applied.
>>57032Yes, it would be bad to delete or lock this thread. I was considering reporting it but decided to propagate my arguments here instead.
This thread and its comments definitely proved not to be shitpost or low effort posting but I still think that in future, such threads don't belong on /mlpol/.
>>57068They should be relegated to /1ntr/. Also, if you haven't noticed, we already had a couples which we talked about animu.
I feel like I started an argument that will change this board forever. Cool.
Make an anime board for the anime posting if you think off-topic anime discussion could open us up to the /b/ degeneracy. After you make that self-/imp/rovement board. We need one. It's a good idea. Bettering ourselves and becoming better people in the process, what's not to love?
>>56824Avatar isn't anime it's a western cartoon.
>>57106I would in general agree with that, however several anime youtubers consider it to be an anime regardless.
blunty put, every anime is cartoons, but not every cartoon is an anime. I would define an anime on the origin of the prudction country and the art style. In that regard, Avatar comes close to an Anime, but it ultimately not one.
