>>51514This. I'm happy with the way it is. I don't think advertising is the best way to promote this place.
>>51514I always lean towards this I still think the best way of "advertising" this board is with fishing trips and expanding our reputation in events like the 4cc. Not in charge of money but I'd like to chime in as against this as well even if I lurk on 8/pol/.
>>515141 and 2 are to prevent normies and reddit favs from finding us. Normies and reddit fags generally avoid 8chan. Advertising on derpibooru may be a problem though.
>>51515>>51519>>51521Rules 1 & 2 were made under different circumstances and different assumptions that don't apply anymore.
We already know what happens when normies, redditors, and assorted other undesirables encounter mlpol. They fuck off. To a normie, there is nothing more triggering than a colorful cartoon miniaturized horse. Nothing, save anatomically correct drawings of genitals on these same cartoon horses. When /pol/ and /mlp/ were merged together on that board forsaken by 4chan moderators, redditors responded by trying to antagonize the pony posters. But the pony posters carpet bombed porn and Reddit gave up and left.
Now, mlpol.net has two factors defending it from being nupol that April 1st 4chan /mlpol/ did not. First, unlike on April 1st, /pol/ is not frozen. Redditors have somewhere else to go if they want fast paced pony-free /pol/ posting. Second, this board is slow. If newfags aren't scared off by the horses, they will get bored and leave for /pol/. And any newfag that can get past all of that, and can also handle being bullied for any wrong actions, I think, is a desirable new addition to the mlpol community.
And if after all of that, there are posters so bad and so cancerous as to threaten the community, there's an embarrassingly easy solution. Simply find a cancerous post, click on the hash that appears between the name field and the flag to view the last five posts on each of the last four boards posted on, confirm the history of cancerous posting, scroll down a little, and click on "New Ban." The problem is solved in literally two clicks. Maybe type in something cutesie like "you have to go back" in the "ban reason" field, or set it from the default permaban to 1 month to allow posting after a period of lurking, or another two clicks to delete all posts by that IP. And repeat as required. I wish our slow traffic problem could be solved with two clicks.
>>51523There are plenty of degenerate lefties that jack off to horses out there. That is why I am worried about advertising on derpibooru. We could be attracting anyone and who ever we attracted would attracted be immune to horse pussy.
>>51524And they'll stay on Derpibooru, where they can find porn more easily than here. Why would they go to a website inhabited - and moderated - by Nazis? They wouldn't last here
>>51511I love the idea and the banners you posted are dank. Any ideas you have in mind? I can edit well but I need inspiration.
I can dump some /mlpol/ content, perhaps that might get the juices flowing
>>51523>>51525First and foremost it seems unnatural for a image board like this to advertise. That seems like stuff that desperate low quality art sharing sites would do. Secondly, just because the mods have extra money doesn't mean it needs to be spent. They can save it for a rainy day or come up with a better idea. Thirdly, more traffic does not mean better. If you guys have extra money, there is no real "low traffic problem". I don't want the culture of this site to revolve around being as accepting and open as possible.
>>51523Oh, and final point, the main problem with this place is that we don't bully newfags for wrong actions.
>>51511I'm ok w/ it, but I'd prefer that identifiable newcomers were blanketed in more horsepussy
>>51525No they won't. If we advertise on the wrong sites we may as well invite the shills to our site.
Is horse pussy on display acceptable for the banners?
cleaned up logo w/ emboss, much better
>>51547>>51554>>51552At some point someone should really make vectors of those logos so they can be resized more easily.
>>51524I agree we should remain a cult that only allows in those who follow our beliefs and bring no intellectual challenge. The last thing we need to do is intellectually expand our thinking. What we need is more believers!
Seig Heil!
>>51556/pol/ gained a lot of its "believers" by converting people who originally came to /pol/ to troll it.
>>51557Are you suggesting we have the intellect to convert people??
>>51511Why not just save the money in case something goes wrong? Lord knows that internet laws are volatile these days. Also, I remember a discussion about our server being in Canada. Maybe there is a better country to have our server in?
I think we should definitely vote on this matter.
http://dailycaller.com/2017/06/28/canadas-supreme-court-says-it-can-force-google-to-remove-search-results/http://archive.is/6wXhxhttp://archive.is/durwThttp://archive.is/uwp6ahttp://archive.is/Rob0E >>51560I know was probably the only one to bring up this entire notion to advertise to derpibooru, but I have to agree. There's some priorities to be met first.
It is a good idea to advertise on certain places, of course it's a Gamble, we are in danger of taking shills, bots and cancer as much as promising new members but we have the power to convert those cancerous guys into proud horsefuckers like
>>51557 says.
Also if the worry is money (
>>51560), we can make a separated patreon/box just for advertising, so we don't touch the server money.
>We've got extra money
That does sound like a problem. What would our greatest ally think of you if they noticed you weren't consuming? You know what they say: When people aren't spending they have lost faith in the economy! You wouldn't want your greatest ally to think you don't have faith in them. Please get rid of that extra money ASAP.
Some of the banners look really good. but think twice where to invest it before, dont squander the server payments at a place that will return no or bad results.
Could someone explain what "extra money" means?
>>51588>>51587>>51577>>51560>>51531We have not decided how the money will be spent. We are at present expecting to put some in reserve to pay for the server for several months, and spend some on advertisements, but no determinations have been made
>>51591Money in the mlpol account beyond what it would cost to pay for the server for three or so months
>>51591The spelling on your banner is wrong. I would recommend you change it into "Die Wiederauferstehung unseres Brettes!" or a variation of this.
to asnwer your question, maybe they made a surprised profit on soem merchanside or someone donated extra money for advertising.
its hard to think of a good advertising place. Most places either dont fit us or know about us already. I would suggest 8pol perhaps if they are cheap.
>>51511Use it to rig the next 4cc so Reddit doesn't win again
>>51594Damn germans telling me how to write german.
>>51558Its our lack of intellect that converts people
>>51604can you use your powerful aboriginal brain to improve our situation?
>>51607How the fuck did you know i was a noogah
>>51614my spider sense was tingling
>>51614dont know if that was an aesthetic choice, but i would recommend using one of these vectors instead.
>>51618I would make her a tad taller, looks otherwise acceptable to me.
>>51612you gave yourself away right here
>>51604>"our lack of intellect">our I made a thing.
Is it good enough?
>>51645Fixed the iron cross sinse that one was low quality and was killing my eyes
Dare you enter my magic realm?
>>51592Ok fine. But I can only hope you don't go through with the advertisements. Artificially propping up this sites user base will not end well, and I don't think I'm the only one here who believes that. The people from 8/pol/ will hate us because they are so far up their own ass, and the people from derpibooru will just dick around and ruin the culture. The goal of this site was just supposed to be a place that maintained the greatness of April 1st on /mlpol/, and so far it's done a decent job. Bringing in hoards of people who never experienced the original /mlpol/ will fuck this place up. Rather, a steady growth that indoctrinates people into the culture of this board is best suited for the sites situation. But then again, I never applied to be a mod, so the final decision is up to you guys. I just hope you know what your doing, and this wasn't just some one off idea that someone threw out and everyone else awkwardly went along with.
>>51678Kek. I really like this one, It's simple, but pretty.
>>51533The first and fourth pics would look make terrific banners.
>>51654The biggest complaint about mlpol is and has been the slow post rate, and the low number odf users, especially those discussing political topics. Advertising the website is a reasonable enough measure to alert people who may be compatible with our board's unique culture to the existence of our website.
An absolute flood of possible new users is unlikely, given the small niche this board fills. The culture of this board also makes it as unattractive to undesirables as they are to us. That will deter hordes of undesirables.
Staff likewise wants this board to retain the greatness and culture of April 1st. But there is a critical difference. April 2 mlpol had a post rate of still a thousand or so an hour.
In the extremely unlikely event enough people decide to come here and stay that they pose a threat to the culture of the board, and there is no way for the existing user base to deter or bully new users into submission, there is a final line of defense that was never available on 4chan. Enact immigration control, and ban cancerous users and shitposters. It is an inelegant solution, but it means that mlpol can never be lost to an influx of new users.
>>51742Pretty much this.
This board could use some moar posters anyway. Even if advertising brings in moar traffic, it won't bring in that much. We can just purge any shitposters that come about anyway.
Plebbit, T_D nufags have no reason to come here when they could just post to 4/pol/, unless they had political pony contact that they really wanted to share (those would be the alt-bronies, but it seems they're either leaving us alone, or just being quiet about it).
I think we should do some "meme magic" type images with Trixie. Here are some nice vectors of her.
>>51816>Lass deine wallenden gelben fluss Kaskade in mein pfannkuchen-loch fließenLol wat, is she asking to be peed on the mouth?
>>51878almost. the picture is based on a meme from a fantasy comic about a Dungeons and dragons game master who injects his piss fetish into the game context, to the dismay of the other players
the text is just a pompously worded request for the receiver to piss into her vagina during intercourse.
I dont know why, but a number of early Aryanne art had piss in them for some reason.
>>51879Ah, I took the "pancake hole" part as mistyped cake hole but now I see donuts are also called pancakes(?)
Would this mean she wants him to piss on her ponut?
Well thanks to this wunderbar comic I'll start studying German now.
>>51884I just call any png with a transparent background a vector
Made a Leslie Fair mlpol logo
>>52130It looks awesome! I love it.
I notices some strange, uneven, black marks in the yellow background, so I cleaned it up. That doesn't bother you, does it? >>52135Thanks, that's a weird problem Picsart has, it leaves marks when you affect selected areas.
I believe you also missed to yellow specks on the top, outside of the banner
>>51542>>51544>>51546>>51547>>51591>>51621Damn, these are all really nice
>>51551I'm… not sure you understood the assignment
>>52130Very nice new logo
>>51556Antifa types are not going to challenge us intellectually and have no desire to learn from us. All they will do is try to shut us down. Shareblue and the JIDF did not help 4/pol/ grow.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kz2PPNNafP4&t=261sWe never fought in the trenches nor did we hear explosion of grenades - but none the less we are soldiers.
With our Hammers ! Keyboards ! Meme's ! Trolling !
We are the Reich's young men,
and we stood united at /pol/, April 1st.
>>53939i like that logo a lot, but it needs some cleanup
>>52215>>51551>I'm… not sure you understood the assignmentWhat are you talking about? That's the best banner in this whole thread.
>> Banners should have the name of the website on them, and give a description of our website that is appealing to the target audience.>> mlpol.net> official board of the denver broncosI don't see any problem.
>>52215>I'm not sure you understood the assignmentWhat are you talking about?
>>51551 is one of the best ones posted so far.
>>52215>I'm… not sure you understood the assignmentWhat did he mean by this?
