>>5126I saved some of this on my phone from old mlpol
This was a good thread before, glad to see it back.

Why do I keep hitting the wrong damn button…
When I see this here on a site like Derpibooru
and when I see contemporary "art" made by so called skilled artists, I know something can not be right.
>>5126Thanks Op I was gonna make one today but you beat me to it.
Also wheres the bongish chinamen at?
>>5695Yeah, art these days…if it doesn't push somebody's narrative, it doesn't get featured.
>>6555>ponies preserve actual skill and artWhy the fuck did someone do such a well crafted piece of art but its fucking pinkamena eating dash.
>>6654That's a piece by "Ponythroat." He's a voraphile artist who has been in the community for many years now. I believe "Tsistra360" is the same artist but for non-voraphilic SFW images. He's a pretty good artist
>>6663Im not one to judge since you guys made me fap to ponies now but it just blows my mind that this has more artistic value than 90% if shit in museums today imo.
>>6692Pic 1 so moving, the cold absence contrasted with the unending warmth in Fluttershy. Nice. Symbolised well by the colour contrasts too.
We had great classical composers in here last time as well, and I think it is worthy to include them.
youtube.com/watch?v=REu2BcnlD34
J.S. Bach Cello Suites No.1-6 BWV 1007-1012,
Ralph Kirshbaum
youtube.com/watch?v=liTSRH4fix4
Chopin - Nocturne in C-Sharp Minor: Lento by Brigitte Engerer
I'd also like to include this modern composition:

Ian Ethan Case w/ the Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra - Slow Burn

I know Copland was a Jew but he was a good one in my opinion.
>>5149>2nd picSTOP RIGHT NOW.
I CAN ONLY TAKE THAT MUCH FEELS.
>>6986Please refrain from posting ebin peeps in an art thread nigger.
>>6663Is he? I've suspected this for the longest time
>>6694>LoTRgood stuff
>>6882>>6899Eric Whitacre is one of the better modern composers I've ever heard
The Seal Lullaby, Eric Whitacre

Piccolo Concerto C major
>>7018Yeah I love him, was debating on posting him instead. Alleluia is fantastic.

>>7006I'm sorry, forgive me that i had been overrun by my feels.
I hope this pic will be enought of a reperation.
>>7026This won't do, not enought detail.
This may.
>>7018>>7022Always love choral and chant. This is just pure joy.
>>7018I don't think he's ever openly said it, but the evidence is beyond a reasonable doubt.
>>7093The styles are pretty much one and the same on both ponythroat and tsistra. Especially visible on the pieces of the second account depicting ponies with open mouths - exact same way of drawing tongues. I'd say it's beyond any doubt they're the same.
>>7072>>7073>>7107>>7167>>7169What the fuck man! Is this seriously where all our real artists have been? So much emotion, creativity and warmth in these. Would the old greats be with us if they were alive today?
I like this bread it comfy
>>7169These steampunk pictures look really nice. been a long time since I saw something like this. Heres 2 unfinished pictures of a steampunk Aryanne with mechanical wings.
>>7362Perhaps. Artists can't live from love and air alone. If Da Vinchi lived these days, he would probably make designer underwear or draw porn.
>>7362>>7377I think the greats of today have been pushed into obscurity because they either depict too much reality, or too much hope.
The optics of fear don't work if the media gives you hope. Watch the front page of imgur sometime, and see how many people like Owlturd comics, or relate to depression, or that enjoy looking at "cringe" dumps that make them feel better about themselves.
In this environment, great artists die.
>>7447>>7377>>7362I'd suggest also that we live in the age of the instant photograph in 4K-HD, as many as you want, in everyone's pocket. See an amazing sunset? You've got it forever, easy as that. Why take the hours and angst to make a painting when you get nature's perfection, right there? The talent has to find another outlet.
Art is passion, and if horsefuckers are anything, they are passionate.
>>7470>>7473Yeah you're right but it also has to do with the death of classical education which really puts us to shame tbh. Vidya and animation create a new feeling that photos cannot I think.
>>7475Love pic #2

I think modern art was about contorting the watcher away from being natural and normal. I think the evils within the power structure trashed all sorts of art forms.
It's a gateway drug to corrupt the society in emotions and thoughts. And a perverse challenge to take that on and not struggle against it.
I hope the MLP:FiM show is given its due in the future for its subtle but powerful call to change direction to something better.
>>7723I hope the MLP:FiM show … and its fandom*
I hasten to add that the fandom deserve much credit too for fleshing out and developing the ideas more fully.
Some Group of Seven pieces from 100 years ago.
They're not titanic cathedrals in exquisite detail, but they speak just as much to me.
>>5126>>5145>>7681This is some of the most detailed interior I have seen in any piece of ponyart in some time. Very impressive. The regular art is magnificent as well!
>>8030Really loving the colors in the thirds one, they make the flowers pop out
>>8343Edit: without the damn watermark this time…
