I heard Toby Fox's undertale kickstarter included some "pay 10k to put your oc in the game" backer reward as a joke to reference a homestuck "pay 10k and your character gets in the comic. Pay 20k and they survive more than one page" backer reward. But some fat fetishist actually paid up and wanted his "Butter Dragon" oc in this game intended for all ages. Right where Muffet is now. Toby moved him to a hidden area only fucking nerds would know how to access, putting down a sign that vaguely hints at how to fight So Sorry. That's what the butter dragon was called. Muffet was a monster designed by one of Toby Fox's friends.
That's the story I heard. No idea if it is true or not.

1. I don't think we have a soul. Our organism is what manifests our mind and therefore our personality.

2. As fragments of the Universe we have our own individuality, but at the same time access to the over-conciousness of other organisms that share the overall same genetic information.

3. I don't wanna care about it being good or bad, as there is no way to change it. It is the only possible outcome and therefore it is neutral.

See, I heard that story as well but what I heard is that the guy thought it was entirely a joke, so when Toby was actually serious and asked the guy for an OC he only had that one to give away and told Toby to then put it in the most obscure corner he could to make sure that nobody would find it without actually specifically looking for it, thus explaining the name. I also heard that Muffet was another one of those backers, but Toby liked her so much that she got included on the main path of the story and not just as an easter egg, but I could be easily as wrong. Anyway, spooders are cute and the personality is formed in the brain before being stored in the soul.
