What's the best way to ride out a hyperinflationary environment? Gold is nice, but it's not liquid enough for use in day to day shopping. Can't buy food with gold. Need to have a semi-liquid store of wealth that rises with the market and can be converted to cash for purchasing groceries as needed. What happens to stocks during such a situation?

street bartering will be best. keep stuff you can grow or remake. chickens, cows, or whatever else. I don't have the land, so I'm making soap and getting equipment to fix other equipment with.
I don't think power will go completely out, but I do think there will be rolling brownouts across the country and probably the world. I like to believe that there are some people out there working on utilities that wont leave their community hanging.
Alcohol will be in gigh demand for various reasons. learn to brew beer and distill further for cleaning purposes. silver and gold are largely worthless anyway. good for bullets I guess. cant think of any use for precious metals outside of advanced chemistry things or special alloys

Convert some of your savings into gold/silver, before the dollar becomes worthless. You'll obviously want to keep money for liquidity too though. For that, there's little alternative to dollars.
Stocks are unpredictable. You shouldn't invest anything into the market that you're not willing to lose. This goes double for crypto.

Theres no 'one size fits all' method anon. It depends on what skills and resources you have available. If you have the skills to replace an industrially diminshing/vanishing trade/product (something previously available in troves but suddenly unavailable - ex, Im covering lumbrr and wood products) then you should be in a good spot. Gas-powered equipmnt and storage is good to avoid the sting of outages.

deflation isn't necessarily bad depending on how things like debts are handled.
