Unsure what to make of it. Some aspects is assuring, but others are less so. Could look like it is more of a sequel where the opening is someone telling the story of G4. So looks like same universe but full new cast. Perhaps some episodes where they read from memoirs and we get the occasional G4 episode.
The picnic slides (3rd and 4th pic related) look like the two new characters are visiting a statue of the Mane Six. So it decently lends the thought that this is post G4 and all the Mane Six are gone sadly.

It looks to me like someone telling a story to their child or grandchild. Though it also seems like the Pony tells it through a diarama then takes it to where they are actually having a picnic on the grass. There isn't a whole heck of a lot here to go by. The the segment with the EUP makes me wonder if it is a throwback to how in the season finally, it was due to the villains that caused them to quarrel and the windigoes to return. Or there could me some other meaning, like heritage and history, or the beginning of the world they are living in now. Who knows.
The biggest takeaway is the new logo. It doesn't look pretty and for some odd reason looks like the old animation of Faust/CartoonNetwork. It remindes me of the Powerpuff Girls or Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, like the font and all would better fit a show like that rather than MLP itself.
The whole trailer or what not however reminded me more so like LionKing 1 1/2. Like perhaps a few side characters, or background characters narrating or telling the story from another perspective. I can't say.
But hopefully we will find out. If the shit doesn't hit the fan before hand.

What is your opinion on g5? Will it merge with the fandom or become completely forgotten, like pony life? My prediction is that g5 will shake things up by doubling down on diversity, race mixing and LGBT propaganda. They'll probably introduce a gender swapping episode or feature gays adopting a child. Something among those lines. It's also very probable that g5 will be a bait for all those trannies, furries, gays etc... It will be simular to a show being monitored by feminists because bronies are white supermacist assholes who are not welcome to stay if they start to complain. I can already sense some retard sperging about which generation was better. But even if I am wrong here, I won't watch g5. Even if it will be good (which I doubt).
I'm not talking about little girls (they'll watch anything). From a horsefucker's perspective, being hyped about g5 is like trying to reinvent a wheel. There's no need in doing so since g4 is already a full pack of material to work with. want a proof? How much shit about the late seasons do people actually care about? Remember when back in 2010 people were posting the crap out of ponies? They did it for two reasons:
