Maybe we don't need a general. Maybe we can just have Anons post their own threeads whenever they feel like posting some drawing. maybe that will create more ambition than when you know you are just posting in a long as thread. Like my mind has already made several new thread ideas. Oekaki thread. Calarts thread. Selfmade comic thread. Request thread. And so on.
>>252852 Sure, a lot of them become sliders but a few of them can become their own thing. I don't know the history of Anonfilly, I guess they actaully came from the pony transform general or whatever it is/was called. The point is that if they had been stuck in a general they would never become what they are today. I feel like it kills creativity. That's why I don't create a writing thread. It feels like on some level people feel like they can't post writingfag related stuff outside of such a thread for example. I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like; yes, silders die; but generals stagnate.
>You want to go ahead and make one? I can but don't see why you didn't make one yourself if you liked the idea. It is not like I gain something from creating it. Drawing in general isn't my area of expertice. I mean I'm above average in skill but lately I can't bring myself to do it. It isn't what I'm aiming to be good at anyway. I can't put in the energy and time into even making those oekaki pics anymore, which took me like max a quarter. >pic unrelated
>>254115 Thanks, Anon! That's a really good resource and I like the links to books at the end. Here's an anatomy chart a Russian named "Eto Ya" drew, might be handy for reference.
>>254137 Eto ya does some amazing stuff and I'll use his stuff where I can for the doc. Russians are truly dedicated horsefuckers. But I'm not really sure an organ chart in vodka runes is going to be that useful.
Sorry for not being active lately. Still sketching things & making progress on a secret project hope will prove relevent to this boards interests. >>254115 Cheers for these resources, just what the doctor ordered.
>>254150 Someone (not me) spent an hour translating so you don't have to. 1 Presternum. 2 Xiphoid cartilage of the sternum. 3 Pelvic mound. 4 Pelvic adhesions. 5 Diaphragm. 6 Recto-tail muscle. 7 External anal sphincter. 8 Clitoris retractor. 9 Heart. 10 The left bronchus. 11 Esophagus. 12 Stomach. 13 Petli small intestine. 14 Left ventral colon. 15 Left dorsal colon. 16 Minor Colon. 17 Rectum. 18 Anus. 19 Liver. 20 Spleen. 21 The left kidney. 22 The left ureter. 23 Bladder. 24 Urethra. 25 The left fallopian tube. 26 Left ovary. 27 The left uterine horn. 28 The body of the uterus. 29 Cervix. 30 Vagina. 31 Vulva. 32 Clitoris. 33 Broad ligament. 34 Rib surface of the right lung. 35 Mammary gland. 36 Arterial ligament. 37 The thoracic aorta. 38 The left pulmonary artery and the pulmonary veins.
>>254143 True, it's hard to see the practicality of this unless if you're making a MLP-themed surgeon simulator game, but his ability to look at a pony body and realistically come up with how everything's placed is a testament to spatial reasoning.
>>256600 Glad you like, I'm hoping to get a few more 20th century propaganda parodies done somewhere down the pipeline. This poster's probably one of my faves, Badass & Asthetic AF.
>>261944 Take my advice with a generous pinch of salt, ah'm drunk & heavily out of practice ATM. Not even sure this critique is legible. She's cute as a button tho', always nice to see more work from you anon.
Thanks to the inspiration of this thread, it's been a little over a year since I started drawing. Posted is my first pony on the journey, and one of my most recent finished projects. So thanks drawfag thread, you've helped me find my new hobby and I'm looking forward to many more years drawing.
>>262003 Really nice and always good to see NASApone! I'm thinking of picking up a little bit of drawing too, but in terms of space ships: taking a design I like (maybe from a side picture), scaling its elements and plotting out the layout of each ship. It's fun trying to squeeze design requirements into a limited space. Obviously this is very different from drawing ponies and doesn't require the use of circles much at all. Any tips in regards to this?
>>265744 But how else will I get my slime filled water bed mattress to hold hooves, and hands, masturbate ontop of, have a soothing rocking motion, with incline decline action, and be able to turn into an alarm clock? >>265746 If it's sentient, and pony shaped in mind and body then there will be grounds for the lewds. Until then you do have a point, but the impossible forces the slime pone could exert will be unknown.
>>265998 I'm impressed, not only with the art but with your calligraphy. I dunno if you'd want to burden yourself but this is definitely the kind of style I'd want to commission for the "Occupied Equestria" DnD thread.
Watching Asha Logos “Conspiracy? Our subverted history” series (https://www.bitchute.com/channel/I8NtGNJ3grJn/ definitely recommended) and about the 23 minute mark of the third ep is a hilarious historical quote I only had to slightly modify to fit Aryanne.
Gonna' play some DRG while contemplating my life choices for spending so long on something this fucking stupid.
After watching horse pussy anon rout the shills on the vax thread, I knew it was high time to contribute some. The stuffs what protects our way of life.
>>273695 You have been steadily improving from the day you first posted a drawing, a few years ago. Try drawabox.com, that might be quite a big step from 2D to 3D in 2D
I drew a thing for the first time in ages. Aryanne doesn't get enough love nowadays and it's enough of travesty that it drove me to dust off the ol' drawing pad.
I'm gonna do a touch up later, and post it to the Fahreneigh thread on /mlp/ as a contribution. Posted it here right now, because I felt like you guys would best say if I messed up the uniform, or her looks.
An eyecatcher. Clothes; gun and poni all in one. Even small details fit well like her long hair . And a nice poe with assest factor too. Great work. Wish you drew more often.
>>274625 I adjusted the background- Not a big fan of it, but it'll do. Fixed her uniform to be a senior private riflemare, although I think her hat's not proper for that rank (this is a cuter hat imo so whatever.)
Thanks for the (you)s It reminds me why I drew in the first place. I can't say I'll do them, but I'm happy to hear any requests from you guys non lewd / lewd (just don't be too degenerate). I'm new to this board, and like it here for some reason.
I had no idea you were knew but i did not recall your draw style before. No paricular requests from me. This one is just about what i could have ever asked for.
Happy to see you here contributing with content.
If i may utter a suggestion: ponerpics; mlpols new booru site; could probably use some aid for promotional artwork. See the pinned thread.
>>274864 I like to stay as anon as possible, but I'd love to do something for Ponerpics once I shake off all the rust. I do these for free, since it's fun. My fear is that people somehow find out I post lewd nazi pony pics then I will be kissing my career (not art related, just in a lefty community) goodbye. That's the life of a Leaf in 2020.
I'm working on a version without the rifle in the way. Please keep the excitement moderate while I relearn how to draw horse pussy. (It's been a that much of a while.)
Years ago I shared some pics on a drawthead in /mlp/ of Little league about to be speared by Anon. Somebody on /mlp/ then posted it to Derpibooru. There should also be an EQG rainbow dash , and Sunset in various states of dress there too. Because I like games, If someone finds them firstly...you should be doing something more productive ffs I'll prioritize any request made with it as a reward.
>>274864 Don't worry about the lefties hating you, they aren't people and they can't hurt you without driving even more redpilled people toward supporting you! Look at The Umbrella Guy and Cyberfrog and how much money they're making thanks to the SJW cult ruining comics!
>>274869 >>274880 Maybe I'm overly paranoid about people finding out I'm redpilled, but I'm still very low on the totem pole, and the folks above are very Left. I can see the brownshirts marching in ten years and I'll be one of them, but until that happens I stay hidden. On the pony question, I keep that part of me to myself (and you, my fine anons). I see people that express it in public, just like politics, or [insert interest here] and I have to hold back my cringe even if I share the same interest / politics.
Spread legged Aryanne will be sometime tomorrow, she's looking smecsky, just need some time to recolour because I'm a dumbass that doesn't manage my layers properly.
>>274883 So I lied about it being tomorrow. I've done more to it than remove the gun but I can't for the life of me do a good vagina. I've "finished" it after several needless hours trying to make it better and I hope it's somewhat looks good to you anons.
>>276043 It's very nice anon. Ngl tho, I like it better with the gun. The hips and cm add enough implicit and subtle sexuality that the second pic is missing. I'd describe the first one as a semi ready and competent gorgeous mare, while the second pic is straight up ready to breed. Neither pic is bad, I just prefer the first
it was worth a try Anon. perhaps the thought of a NSFW version was just too tempting. ive seen bigger paintzers struggle more with horse genitalia. if you get the porrtunity to work on it more even it will eventually get better.
I could be wrong but I think ive seen Art from You before, Anon. I appreciate you adding a fighter plane in there as well. extra points for effort and variety. also nice touch with the photograph filter. Pleasant style.
>>286751 >>286859 Adorable anon, you have rapidly become one of my favorite drawfags, and I appreciate all your work. If I were really stretching, I might critique the hoof size, but that's really reaching
>>286863 >>286864 Thanks, I thought the hooves (especially the one on her foreleg) might be a little small, so I might take a minute to work on that when I have time to spare.
It's 3 am and I have insomnia. Haws about some drawing in paint? Since you like puss as much as I do, feel free to suggest something. I draw very fast.
Got back into drawing againg fooling around with different papers and materials. On the plus side of things drawing is fun again. On the minus side I still suck. Whatever I'll just draw and have a good time.
>>293821 You have a great potential of improving your art but you might also want to consider from what angle you want to start improving or what you wish to set as a priority. There's a duality in drawing ponies. It is very hard to draw them because they are the simpliest and easiest ones to draw. Paradox, right?
You don't need to know perspective or anatomy to get it done. It only requires space orientation and taking control over your line work. Like, for example. Every object has an outer shape of some sort. Take a frying pan for example. If you just trace the outer edge of it you will get a shape of a flat circle and a rectangular. With that comes the overall aesthetics of art. It's when you not only see how your lines shape he object but also how to properly align those lines to achieve the goal.
>>293821 Dude, your art is great. Fuck your hesitancy, you're already doing 95% better than self-proclaimed >>>artists<<<. Anatomy takes a massive amount of time to become familiar with. Stay with what you know until you can master form>function. I'll be eagerly waiting. Last pic not entirely related.
Out of curiosity, what does /mlpol/ think about the globohomo art /pol/ has recently made?
The whole thing got banned off of /pol/ by obvious leftist mods and jannies.
The whole thing is about using the Alegria art style and parody the shit out of it since many governments and corporations that push for the great reset are using it.
>>293887 They look great. It is the exact style of all government produced infographics so gets people to click to watch full version and forcing them to think.
The whole thing about /gag/ has some parallels to /mlpol/ in terms of anons wanting it only for the shill mods and jannies to shut it down. In /gag/'s case, it got moved to /bant/.
I swear that's the only reason why that board exists. A glorified shoah ground.
>>293939 >>293887 Has anyone made one to the tune of "BLACK LIVES MATTER GANG: IF YOU DON'T JOIN, YOU AIN'T BLACK" with four happy niglets warming hands around a barrel with burning black kid skeleton inside?
>>294102 Because Demetrius getting killed for refusing to join a gang had passed unnoticed; but that applies to literally everything that undermines BLM, since they control the media it gets negligible coverage.
>>294104 That meme is known, but didn't work and never will. The conservatards see that meme and agree about the liberal/commie hypocrisy, but deep inside they know it's about a nigger and nobody cares. The commies/progressives have the agenda to target white straight men and their framework, that meme won't help to hit their target and therefore they ignore it.
>>293824 >>293825 >>293855 Sorry for replying this late but I have been busy. I'm thinking about going back to drawing digital again. Somehow it is a completely different kind of beast than traditional drawing but I feel like if I put in the hours I can make something worth looking at, something worth sharing. Anybody else stuck with not knowing what to draw from time to time?
>>294272 It seems this way from the ground-up but as time progresses you get to adapt to it. Not much sets digital and traditional art apart. It's a common place to turn a blank canvas into something beautiful. The real challenge comes from a technical aspect, when drawing with a tablet pen is easier compared to a pencil or even a computer mouse.
Just don't give up and follow your passion. Often artists are failing at that, myself included. Sometimes you might feel like there is no improvement in quality at all but believe me it all will get better in little ways. The only stronghold you have is a glimpse of hope to assist you and your own will to follow along.
>>294272 Whatever YOU find the most comfortable medium to work with, dude. You aren't limited by time or convenience. Those oil paintings you made? They are solid gold exposes of your talents. You created those images with sincere warmth, which resonates with those that have been given the cold fucking shoulder all their lives. Sieg Mare, mein kin.
As for what can or can't be drawn on my end, my advice is worthless in that regard: too much fucking nerve damage to help you and for that I apologize. Can't even hold a charcoal pen steady for a basic tree sketch. Do what YOU desire. Give yourself time, but most importantly: BE PATIENT with yourself AND your skills. Mastery does not occur as a stroke of genius, it takes months or years to acquire.
>>294282 >>294290 First let me thank you both for your kind words.
>>294282 The thing is digital comes with the undo button. And maybe Im'm being cheap here but great power comes with great responsibility, You can make amazing shit but you don't have to think in advance and this might sound paradoxical but you aren't liberated by the limitations traditional art puts on you. also post art
>Just don't give up and follow your passion feelings and passion are new to me because of medical reasons but for the first time I feel like I should share my stuff not for my ego but because other people might find it enjoyable too
>>294290 Dude you are making me blush! If they resonate with you that might be the greatest archievment of my life so far. But what really gives all of this a bad note is the sickness you talk about. What is that sickness you are talking about? I don't know much but I know that haning your head down is a sure way to hang. I wish you the best my dude. Don't give up, man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLO7tCdBVrA
>>294332 Not a disease: combat related injuries that went untreated just long enough of my own stupidity to cause a moderate-severe neurological condition that makes fine tasks involving motor usage of the hands impractical at best. Though I cannot hold a pen or stick, I see what you have made which makes me desire nothing more than to offer my appreciation of, and for, your works. Sieg Epona, mein freunde.
I drew something based on my feelings today. Maybe someday I'll do more drawings but I want to get good at storytelling more than I want to get good at drawing so I prioritize that instead. Still it's fun to draw once in a while.
>>295854 Eh, I don't think it's too pretentious. Your style is kind of interesting, too. Is that supposed to be Anon, or some character from something, or someone you came up with yourself?
>>295859 I don't really have a style. It's more that somedays I can imagine how things should look and therefore draw them and somedays I can't and therefore the end result is bad. This is day were I could imagine what I wanted to draw. It just kinda became a skeleton without visible teeths and with a neck. Well, because of your encouragement, I drew something else.
>>294061 >Jews can't art. Chagall? >>294076 I am Jewish and certainly do not hate beauty. So will you say that I'm lying or that I like the wrong kind of beauty. The only thing from that I'd argue on are aspects of Brutalist architecture. There are Brutalist works that I find beautiful in their simplistic surrealism.
>>274656 Are you doing this freehand or starting with guides? Head, mane, tail, and just the facial dimensions look fine. You seem to be doing well at the things I have the hardest time with. Guide circles for the thorax and abdomen would held with body length and leg placement. Also what day are you on in terms of practice?
>>298355 >Chagall Didn't know about this guy from before looking him up. Didn't really fancy what I saw, sorry. May give something constructive of what I thought later when the thoughts have crystalized. Although, I'm a layman when it comes to art like drawings, I would say that we have different tastes if you like Chagall because I can't find the appeal.
>>298359 I wouldn't say that things can be objectively beautiful, but there is what I can only describe as objective ugliness. If someone takes a literal shit on a plate and arbitrarily assigns meaning to it, then I'd consider that "art" and its meaning to be equally invalid. Though when talking about anything that takes skill to produce, ranking styles or pieces by base value turns into a question of philosophy. For instance, how much should realism factor into beauty? How abstract can something become before it's no longer an expression of artistic skill? I'd say the lines really start to blur with Impressionism and German Expressionism. Then there's the idea of meaning itself. Abstractionists would say that modern art removes meaning from the equation, and that is the next direction that art moves, but I personally think it's impossible to create anything devoid of meaning. Related to that, there are memes that I think have more artistic value than modern art hanging up in big museums.
It's apparently an edit of issue 89 idw comic about some woke race realism ans such. If someone knows more, redpill me since i ain't reading that shit, nigga,
>>300583 > AJ asked Zecora why she doesn't want to visit Zebrica Seriously? That was it? No pestering or "Go home, zigger!"? Just simply asking why doesn't she visit her home?
>>300585 I don't understand why Zecora is so butthurt or bringing up Applejack's possibly-dead parents. Does it turn out Zebrica is a shithole because it used to be a beautiful country managed by handsome intelligent benevolent lions but then ziggers took over and shat the place up?
If you have woke ideas for a racist comic involving aj cracking down on zigger zewhora, share them. I feel oddly participated in drawing racist stuff rn.
>>300584 >>300585 Well... to be fair, nah I got nothin'. But seriously I mean look at them, it's no wonder Zecora somehow made it to Equestria The whole comic is about talking about stuff and ziggers can also have friends and the whole insulting and guilt tripping Applejack bit is quickly tossed aside once Applejack realizes the unrhyming ruse Zecora set up. >>300592 Dixiejack would fit well for the comic story and comedic moments. Time to expand the racist barn to hostile lands.
>>300606 This seems like really shit writing. It would diminish Zecora's "uniqueness" and worth as a character if all Zebras were exactly like her but if she's the only rhyming weirdo it means she's weird because she's a weirdo, not because she's foreign. Zecora's defined entirely by her weird foreign behaviour. She paws the ground in search of water like a real Zebra, unaware that pawing the ground shows rage/is a threat in equine body language. She does voodoo witch doctor potion bullshit and her home is full of primitive african jungle bullshit. What stupid reason did this comic give for how she's so black she almost always raps when she talks?
>>300584 >>300585 >>300608 No seriously the end of that diatribe is wack. >Let's head to ziggerland and the local that might be useful and build a common ground based on appearance could help. >"Watermelon, ooooga booga, sand hoes." "We're going to Ziggerland." >"APPLEJACK! You inconsiderate nincompoop hoe could you. If you knew my woes that I have never told anypony about all this time at all ever ypu're a shit friend. Also, Yo mama so fat she died of diabeetus." >"Well she is dead... hold the fuck on zigger, you didn't use the black speach of Sauron." >"Uhhh ziggity zoop become a spook! Run like the popos."
>>300615 What is Zecora's reason to not want to return home? Why does this comic set up dumb nonpony OC races instead of doing something interesting with Zecora by revealing why she left Zebrica?
>>303339 I'd take that over it being dead any day. 8kun drawthread is even more dead, and 4chan just doesn't do it for me. All this "no porn no politics christian board" bullshit always bothered me
>>303341 I don't know. Like, what do you want from a simple thread with silly pics drawn for fun? What fun is there in this world going downhill? What fun can you get during a lockdown and living in fear? If you can think of something positive that happened recently, there will be fun pictures.
I can draw a fun picture of a super straight pony. But that's all, nothing more fun.
>>303345 You say all this as if there's something i demand, but i really don't. I do like it here. We can have some fun drawing shitty pictures, that'll be fun >>303346 >Super straight >Curved font Gold
Damn it, is it normal to be in love with mlpol? Because I love you so fucking much, poners. Whoever edited this, you are the best. From the deepest pits of my heart, thank you.
>>303629 Some become distracted by their work or relationships. Some don't seem to have anything to talk about, and just slowly disappear out of sight. But worst of all is when they quarrel, and i have to pick a side. I hate this so much. Another thing i was thinking about is the fandom. So many people i looked up to, so many artist whose work i enjoyd turned out to be rotten. Perhaps i shouldn't have had put my faith in a bunch of infantile dreamers and wierdos. I still hate it. Hate. Hate
>>303638 Yes, of course i did. Look, i never wanted to derail this thread and i certainly don't need an online therapist. I felt something and then i drew something. It is creativity that matters
>>303640 Positive is that you made me want to try again to learn how to draw Ponies. I wish I never stopped. I realize I lost the know how I had and need to relearn. But hopefully it won't take too long to get back into it. Not that I was that good to start with, but I could draw rough profiles of ponies.
>>303642 >Hope you'll be posting here That I will do. Really rusty at the moment but hopefully I will get better and also turn to more advanced poses than just profiles.
>>303644 >Make sure to check out basic guides for drawing ponies. Yep, I need to dig out the reference how to draw folder again from wherever I saved it. >I wish you the best of luck Thanks
>>303644 First little attempt that looks decent but probably will haunt me after posting when I see the glaring errors in it. >and I see that the head is "a bit" disjointed in reference to body
>>303709 That's pretty cute, anon. Although the angle seems a little weird, as if she is facing away from the viewer. Lack of facial features also seems a bit uncanny. It's somewhat anatomically solid, but i feel that adding a face would really bring it to life
>>303709 Also, i cannot recommend deconstructing original designs enough. It's not that you have to copyit in everything, but it is generally very useful for understanding how to make things look better
>>303712 > as if she is facing away from the viewer Yes, I was intending to have her looking away so it wasn't full side view, and int the rough sketch it looked good when she did that. >i feel that adding a face would really bring it to life It is those final touches that I really struggle with. And I was really unsure how the eyes and snot should be added when she was looking away so I left that out and thought best would be to move on to next pony.
Not sure what the real process in drawing is. How much sketching is done, how to think about stuff when drawing. I've seen some artist that seemingly just draw lines, and then use the fill tool and presto an shaded face appears out of nothing.
>>303714 >I was really unsure how the eyes and snout should be added Here's an approximate example. I beileve you can find something better if you search for pony rotations. Don't be afraid to search for and use references when needed. >Not sure what the real process in drawing is. Same, heh
>>303778 I don't know what's funnier, the fact that dildo is spelled, didlo, that it's a starter pack with 6 inches dildo or that it is delivered in a giant box. I hope to draw some more funny shit later. It geniunely cracks me up.
>>303832 That's a nice filly, anon! I like that you don't seem to be afraid to try interesting poses, though i would recommend you to try to make her less wobbly Here's a drawing of Aryanne getting head
>>303862 Honestly, i just drew Aryanne and was planning to draw Franziska giving her some new WunderWaffe-equipment, but the unicorn didn't turn out so great and i deleted her body. I wish there would be more art of Franziska, she's cute
>>303861 >i would recommend you to try to make her less wobbly Yes, I was not that happy with the pose. But felt I had to change too much to make it look good so I went the more silly way with it. First time I tried really bending the legs so was an experiment. I am hoping that in time I will get some better poses down.
>>304109 Feel free to steer me on to the right path when I stray away. I still have long way to go before they get good, but hopefully my doodles won't be in vain on that path. I'm just hoping I don't teach myself bad habits.
Never felt I got the proportions right. But at one point I felt that keeping on trying to fix it would only push it further out of proportions. So it is what it is.
>>304258 Look anon, i ain gonna lie, your proportions are shit. It's actually kinda adorable, really, but you should totally work on it. Just try following a few tutorials on body, compare your attempts to the show or an artist you like and you'll get it right. Rome wasn't built in one day after all. Pay attention to shapes a pony is made of, you have to kinda imagine a pony as an arrangement of shapes in a 3D space. Best of luck to you!
Hey there, draw thread, what do you think we try aggie.io? Basically, it gives several users the same canvas where anyone can make new layers, and we can draw a lot of little pictures with binary brushes. It's anonymous and no registration is required, through the canvas size is limited. Now, I'm not saying it ain gonna go south, but it might be fun. Has anything like this ever been tried? How'd it turn out? What do you think?
>>304341 Hopefully better proportions in this drawing. But can't say it is full freehand as I used a little reference to get rough styling and length of legs and body in proportion with head. In time and with practice I will get proportions into muscle memory.
>>304542 I am not god at making deliberate facial expressions so like for all my drawings I went by random lines in my sketching that my brain interpreted as a beginning of something and elaborated on it in final drawing. I initially thought about drawing something smoll in front of her that she was looking at. An expression of Confusion, Bafflement and Disgust was my thoughts I think.
>>305220 The mane and tail need re-styling. The facial expression is better in this one. The neck has to be thicker. The chest and the belly is not horizontally aligned.
>>305221 Come on, give this guy a break. Those are trivial details you point out, not the problem itself. Better cut the crap and spit it out the way it is -he's better off starting with the basics such as perspective, line orientation, proportions, dynamism, spacing and drawing basic geometry shapes.
I know people love jumping right into drawing shit they like but it's better to get a grip on the essentials first. Otherwise they'll spend more time doing meaningles shit instead of pushing their skill forward.
I mean, I ain't no Davinci but I've learned a lot from the basics and kept working on the basics. You should also understand that 2d cartoony art isn't actually 3d but it inherits a lot of 3d qualities such as weight distribution and symmetric appeal. Without understanding proper how to draw 3d things, people usually stuck in a beginner loop hole, myself included I've spent 14 years drawing and 12 of them were spend drawing nothing but uglylooking shit. I still suck at art but at least I got a hang of it, know what to improve and I don't get lost in what I actually draw.
>>305245 You are probably right. Though I still think that the advice had merits. But >>305248 This does indeed provide perspective. If I ever, which I don't have time with, start to draw again, I'll try to follow this adivce. So thank you. I have seen it before as well. I think it is a good advice.
But one thing I have a problem with when it comes to this advice is how do I practice on these things? I guess there are proportion drawing exercises on the internet to follow. Is that what you did when you started to practice the basics of drawing?
>>305245 Yep I know I probably should do the basics first that actually counts. I know drawing colorwheels or shading a balls/cube as an example can be a boring task but something you have to do over and over again as it is a skill you need. Perhaps dust off pic related and actually sit down and do the real stuff.
>>305258 No. Don't follow the advice of this cuck nsio. I've tried to do it but it didn't work. You see, everyone has their own way to learn and unless you see what's up with your stuff, his tutorials will look like nothing but noise to you.
To be very personal here, two years ago I started thinking about objects and noticed that they have a certain shape. Like, a frying pan for example has a certain 2d silhouette and if you ignore all it's other parts and make it pitch black, it'll look like this.
This way of looking at things helps me to cut the bullshit and focus on the task at hand. the thing about art is seeing it finished in your head and trying to adjust what you create in the process. This skill comes with an expence of drawing a lot of cubes, speres, planes but in the end it is worth it.
What are your favourite art resources? personally I like using 3d modelling program Blender to make a 3d approximation of what I want to draw in 2D when there's some bullshit complex pose going on
>>305729 Funny you should say that. Sometimes I have to "cheat to camera" and move the 3d model in impossible ways to get the pose to look cool from certain angles. I'm still a novice at art, so it's a good way to stay on-model when drawing 8000 frames or whatever of a character.
>>305741 If furries/anime fans commission you, be prepared to hear "Sorry I don't get paid until 1 month from now" when you ask when the payment comes. So always ask "when will you have the money ready?" before you start the work. It's not as aggressive-sounding as "When do you plan on paying?" but it still prompts them to suddenly remember they're hiring you to make something they can't pay for until the next "monthly tugboat" as they call it.
>>305745 I have no idea, I've never paid anyone to make commissions for me. But don't pay a leftist plz. Also be careful with your bank details. Paypal is jewish.
The thing about g4 style heads is that they're flat and curved in a way to have volume and line of motion. First, the nose is always below the ear. If you conect the lowest part of the ear with the tip of the nose you'll get the main dynamic line that sets the whole aesthetic mood off. Next comes the curvature of the base of the head. The right side of the head outline fits the eye in a way to be two thirds of its size to the left. It helps to create a distortion effect that pushes the flat shape to make it feel volumetric. Lastly, the neck aligns with the eye perfectly (that's not the point when you pick different angles but for this angle it works okay)
as you can see, this style doesn't require 3d orientation. Only line orientation. Some people draw 3d circles and then try to fit this drawing in it, which is impossible.
I need a dollar. I will draw anything for just 10 cents so please, PLEASE!!! If you can spare me a dollar and send it to my paypal account, I will draw you 10 pictures in return. I am the man of my word and I will work my ass off for a single dollar becase I need it ASAP!!!
This is not a shitpost. If you're down to give me a dollar for 10 arts, tell me what kind of drawing you want and we'll work the shit out. I am a shitty talentless artist so my prices are reasonable (or at least I hope so)
There is a transaction I cannot finish because there is not enough money on my account. I don't want to give up on my valueable purchase so I ask you for help without trying to come off as a beggar. I have about an hour till the thing I buy is no longer due. Please help me and I will entertain you with ten exclusive shitty ponies doing various things for your amusement.
Guess that's not going to work. I am not sure if this is even a sane thing to ask for so forget me for being autistic. The clock is ticking so I'll try my luck raising money by compleating surveys and shit.
>>307836 Sorry, maybe if you didn't wait until the last minute and posted this a little earlier so anons could have time to see your post and respond it would've gone over better.
>>307827 >>307836 The more I think about this the sadder I get. I wish I was online when you posted it and knew how to transfer anonymously. I hope you get the opportunity again.
You know what? Fuck it! This can still work just for a kick of it. I am not that desperate no more so I will draw one art instead of ten. But hey, this one art will be a killer. I promise.
Here is my paypal mail account to send a dollar to: [email protected]
There are two options, mlpol. Either you send this dollar and leslie wins this battle or you don't send a dollar and aryanne wins instead. Please, say who's gonna send the buck to me first to avoid being paid twice or thrice.
>>307866 So am I. Anyway, now it doesn't matter. If noone wants to use jewish bank then it's great. That means aryanne won and I can go back to drawing shit free of charge. Besides, I did draw some funny art with leslie in the process so that counts for something.
Funny but I actually love concrete myself. I had a project assigned to study the behaviour of a reinforced concrete beam to predict the load-deflection curve using math analysis and data from 12 specimen. Joy.
Now THIS guy over here is a real man, unlike all of you, broke pathetic faggots. Unlike you, he's got balls to work hard and afford the luxuries of life. This is the guy who gets bitches to suck him off daily. While you all are working your ass off for your minimum wage and shit, not having a spare dollar in your pocket, this go-getter over here is living to his fullest! What a damn success this guy is! what a damn success it is to find a guy to get payment from by drawing... REAL GOOD ART!
Is this what artistic integrity costs me to buy food? I now understand that fucker smudge proof. I now see the world through his eyes. Dman straight, we live in a society.
I am just joking around with this whole concept, starting with a fake money request with leslie. I am not a struggling artist on a venting spree and this is definitely not to be treated seriously. I hope you're all having as much fun as I am out of this and I hope that doesn't come off as annoying. If it does, I'll stop.
I know that I can get this commission done but I want it to be better. Anything for my dear valued customer. Do you have any ideas of what to add to Zacknel's fancy little request, /mlpol/?
Feel free to suggest anything to improve this fine piece of art. It'll take days before I finish it because I actually care to deliver a very good art.
>>308097 For more than a year I have been thinking about seeking out an artist to make a visual novel with (I want to write one but I can't draw). However, my writing skill is still not on a satisfactory level.
I wrote a 1k short-story a week or two ago, the idea of having someone draw it into a comic does appeal to me. However, I haven't done this sort of anonymous online transaction before and would have to figure out how to do that in a proper way before I would ever make such a request. I also don't really have the time to be thinking about this right now.
So I guess, I'm really offering nothing here more than that I wanted to say that I think your art would be sufficent for something like that and that you're good at drawing.
>>308098 >my writing skill is still not on a satisfactory level.
It will never be. It's called "self criticism" and it's one pain in the ass to get in check before you end up hating yourself and everything you make. Don't push yourself too hard with it. Every time you make something, just be proud that you made it to the end.
>I think your art would be sufficent for something like that and that you're good at drawing.
Thanks, though there is always some room for improveent. I am merely a copy cat with zero knowledge about anatomy and scenery. All I can do is adjust the lines to look appealing and match someone else's style.
>>308308 Intellect only has so much to do with group forming, but that being said one would be in good company here if they were well on the right side of the bell curve. Anyway, hope you decide to stick around. We could always use more drawfags.
I can only draw straight out of my head (I imagined how it should look like from my viewpoint). I have never really practiced the theory like persepective drawings. How do you guys do it?
As in how do you practice the basics and the theory?
also, references are your friend. drawing a pegasi or your horrible alicorn OC? get a bunch of pictures of doves or pigeons to use for a reference for wings.
Do you gents use slates or just a mouse? I used to make pastel drawings on paper but it was all abstract, wondering if I could use an eye for pastel colors to turn that into pony.
Fixed a bunch of lines, still not perfect, but enh. Easier to make with better lines. Does somebody else want to add the other pony? I probably won't get to it... probably.
Accidentally posted an earlier, inferior version of this originally. Anyways, feel free to say hello to Iron Legion, inspired by the Romanian Iron Guard and their legionarist fascist ideology created by Corneliu Codreanu.
Have something I've been working on for a while, but can't recently because shit keeps crashing. Managed to move stuff around for just the head shot and exported that. One day I'll finish the rest of the piece.
She is looking gorgeous so far, and will be stunning when done. Made in inkscape.
>>319176 I guess upside is that you get to concentrate on the art, and after a while the music becomes white noise and not something that potentially takes focus away from it or changes it by instilling new feelings and moods as new songs play.
I'm still suprised that of all things that people have ponified, they didn't ponify the opposite of Aryanne. We could have had so much cute art with them fighting/fucking/whatever. Missed potential.
>>319208 Thats heresy. Portraying something other than pony is too diverse, It's kikery in its purest form. Veronika makes sense from a historical side of things but russians wasn't the thing that nazis were after. Jewpone would've made much more sense.
Anonfilly has a character? I thought it's a shameless self-incert oc. What character trait can possibly belong to such a walking sexy metaphor for equine beauty?
>>322730 I never seriously studied drawing techinques so my style change from piece to piece and so does it's artistic value. Thanks anyway. This one turn out pretty hawt but then that's probably because I have "studied" the subject matter in detail.
>>322729 To be honest, it would be intresting to see what a pro, like yourself, thinks about the piece. You mentioned body disproportions. What about them are bad and how would you fix 'em?
>>322733 It's intresting. It's like it's in my blood. I learnt that on my dad's side of the family I have a bunch of artists though I got into art entirely on my own. >'m a milestone away from even considering that status. You're pretty good though. But I guess it depends on what definition you use for the word.
>>322734 The basic understanding of gravity, shapes and accent is a key for improving your art. In your pic the accent is pony's pear shaped butt (obviously) and the rest of her body complements that. The posture is readeable but the lower part of her is too skewed for a pony to stand without falling.
I fixed it by tilting the butt a little to the left. I also made her torso a little longer. The facial features reminded me of fluttershy so here is that.
>>322736 It's also a good idea to think of your art as a whole. It's never enough to compensate posture with fugly anatomy. So I removed the triangular legs.
>>322736 >>322735 That does look better. >the accent is pony's pear shaped butt >accent Okay, new word for me. Let's see what it means... Thick lines and the focus of the drawing, from what I can gether. >tilting the butt a little to the left >I also made her torso a little longer. Yeah, I noticed and it looks better because of it. Though I don't really follow: >the lower part of her is too skewed for a pony to stand without falling. Ahh! Wait, you mean to the right of her. Yeah, she would kinda tip over with how fat her ass is on that side and how oblique her legs are. And that's why you made her booty tilt towards the viewer so she regains balance. >The facial features reminded me of fluttershy so here is that. Her mane and eyes are imprinted on me so I end up drawing them on filly, especially her long mane. Well, thanks. That was actually pretty fun maybe you should make a review thread, like Glimglam, but for reviewing pony art.
>>322737 >It's also a good idea to think of your art as a whole. It's never enough to compensate posture with fugly anatomy. Let's say that you're drawing a pony. Do you draw her face first, till it's finished, and then move on to the rest of her body; or do you draw a body-sketch first that you're satisfied with and then start to fill in the details? Because now that I think about it, I think I do the former which causes me to struggle later. I don't want to erase work so I try to mash two pieces that don't fit together.
>>322738 >That was actually pretty fun maybe you should make a review thread, like Glimglam, but for reviewing pony art. Would it be a little hypocritical, considering I am just a mediocre self-learner? Maybe I'll do something like that in the future. >Do you draw her face first, till it's finished, and then move on to the rest of her body; or do you draw a body-sketch first that you're satisfied with and then start to fill in the details? To me the process doesn't matter. What matters is how the sketch you draw builds on itself. Start with a head and fix it accordingly as you continue down to the torso.
>>322737 The shadowing does help. I say it does it's job. The triangles were suppose to represent hooves in the pic related way. Yours are obviously better. Flutters looks hotter here but now her ass looks too big in comparision to her hooves. I get that you were just making a point, that you had to work with the original pose, and that you one-hundred precent have already seen what I'm talking about, just saying. >Would it be a little hypocritical, considering I am just a mediocre self-learner? I don't thnk so. You just give you opinion on something and then try to prove your assertions. But you do you. I'm not trying to pressure you to do anything. I just thought that this discussion was intresting. >Start with a head and fix it accordingly So this is no problem once you put skill and effort into good use? Okay. That makes sense.
>I just thought that this discussion was intresting. I agree. It's interesting to work on how you draw stuff. I tried drawing G4 ponies from memory. Looks like it.
For me it's very easy to draw pony profiles but the fronts look sloppy, let alone in-betweens. For a face to look good, i always have to check the reference.
thats the problem with arting from memory, your brain discards the kind of information necessary to make it look right. I found this to be the most frustrating part of arting: Training your brain to remember those details.
sadly I don't art enough because am waaaay too busy with other things.
>>322738 >maybe you should make a review thread, like Glimglam, but for reviewing pony art. Why not just do that here? Isn't that part of the reason for having a drawfag thread? So we can critique and improve?
Does anyone have any practical advice for budding drawfags? It's my modest hope to one day saturate the web with unyielding amounts of cartoon horse pussy. The problem is that I'm completely new to drawing and my first attempts were utter dog shit. I have a shitty Veikk tablet that I bought to use at work, but it's hardly been used. An a15 I believe.
My art critique thread got nuked (or it was probably me since the header art was plain ugly and I tried to delete it myself, I'm the autist). Anyway, guess the critique can continue here.
I screened a peek at my retarded drawing process. On average, simple lineart takes 3-5 min. It's good to keep it at that.
>>323921 Don't beat yourself over the lack of experience, man. It's simple. Start with analyzing the space that each of your strokes takes on a canvas. It's about how they relate overall. Cartoons are simply flat surfaces simplified to their bare minimum so practical knowledge like anatomy and perspective are not needed to be taken into consideraion. Then try to draw from a reference and see how close your art matches the original.
When drawing from source pay close attention to how the lines interact. It's merely a question of breaking down the lines and positioning them in a way to match the original. Many people draw ponies with a shit ton of guidelines, symmetry lines and other unnesesary details. It's no use. It will only confuse the heck out of you and dampen your learning progress. Seriously, it's not a question of "the head goes here, the eye goes here". There are no eyes in reality but a bunch of lines. Instead, you should be asking yourself how far one line outreaches another.
My attempt at capturing pony is weak but it gets the job done.
>>324018 >>324019 >>324024 >>324035 Thanks, anon. This advice seems pretty helpful since you nailed most of what I thought my own problems were right away. It's much appreciated. I've noticed that I kept trying to get what I thought was perfect anatomy and I immediately deleted anything I found unsatisfactory being the perfectionist that I am. I construct a detailed mental image of what I want to create and I find myself frustrated for not being able to recreate it as well as I'd like despite not having invested the time to build my skills. All this because I want to make art of my niche subgroup of adoracreepy pony waifus. Fuck.
>>324179 Did you rely on intuition or have you used a reference? The teeth look like lips and the tongue should come from the bottom of the mouth, not the top. Aside from that it's a wonderfully done art. Weird proportions add up to the style.
