I know a guy who has a raspberry pi video player in the bedroom of his kids, it's got tons of Spongebob, Batman animated, Rugrats episodes, tons of kiddy cartoons he's seen and determined to be safe. His family has this instead of a TV.
The USB stick shoved into that video player... It contains that Spongebob episode where everyone plays in a marching band for Squidward.
It contains that episode where Spongebob and Squidward take pizza to some cunt.
It has the Fairly Odd Parents episode where Timmy fights some evil kids who wished for evil shit like "I wish tornadoes attacked trailer parks", and it has the good episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
It doesn't contain the episode where Squidward gets brain damage and
becomes an adult baby who shits his own diaper, it doesn't contain the episode where Timmy Turner kills himself and then learns the world and all of his friends would be better off without him(his parents are happier without him around, his bully bullies nobody and became a better person, his best friends became successful and happy without him around to hold them back), it doesn't have any of the trashy low-effort "Two cunts being cunts" shows, and it sure as fuck doesn't have the Glimmer episodes.
He does this because he doesn't want his kids to be exposed to Hollywood's fucked up shit until they're old enough to understand Squidward isn't real, bad writers can fuck your show up or put out fucked-up episodes without it permanently ruining your view of who the characters are and should be, and Hollywood is a shithole.
People should scrutinize kid's media MORE than they scrutinize adult media, and this "anti-media-scrutiny" hugbox culture where everyone has to praise the media blindly and love the lootboxes or be labelled a hater and untrue fan... It's retarded.
Someone post that "Interesting times" 4chan post screenshot.
FIM was something special because it wasn't just "A stupid fucking girl's show" like pony used to be. She wrote a balanced cast of protags who could be heroes in one episode and cunts in another without anyone needing to act OOC. She made people care about characters, and used that to make people care about dumb kiddy shit like "Oh no dragon smoke will cover ponyland's sky" and "the night might last forever" and "Oh no the wind might stop in ponyland if these Breezies die". It's why friends going to a gala that turns out shit feels so sad, you wanted these characters to have a good time.
The writing that made this show special is gone, and it feels like the fandom... either it's stopped being what it used to be, or it never was what it presented itself to be and the people that stuck around in the fandom and made its babydrama tolerable won't be caught dead on a pony site again.
I've gone on pony sites and marvelled at how people I unironically don't remember ever meeting have carried grudges against me, often for four or five years. Still, I know I've done nothing wrong because if I actually wronged these vagueposting "Oh, it's YOU"fags at any point in the past two decades, they'd remember everything about that day and never shut up about it. Most likely, some dumbfuck I don't remember said "Guys, we don't like (name) any more" to his faggy childish discord circlejerk. So they make a big scene of hating on me and giggling when they're supposed to like a good angry NPC does for its tribe.
So dense.
It's all so tiresome.
What a drag.
Still, I stopped being mad about Glimmer a long time ago. It's not like these ponies are real in another dimension and she's some alien who drains their souls while brainwashing them, or some such nonsense. Glimmer and the rest of this shit are just crap additions forced into a failing show by a bad company and its faggots. The show's been on a downward spiral for years, and now they've lost it completely. I'd sooner call DmC:DMC canon to the real DMC franchise than consider the retarded additions in later seasons canon. Don't "If it's onscreen it's canon" me or animation mistakes like Princess Erroria are just as canon as the writing mistakes where characters contradict their personality and past experiences for the sake of tiresome stock plots.
GT was trash and the outcry against that meant we got the slightly higher-effort DB Super show and movies.
Glimmer represents everything wrong with how the show tries to sell characters now. But I don't have much personal hatred for her. I don't see her as a real thing, and FIM wasn't a big influence on my childhood or anything. I honestly have more reason to hate Chloe from FIM (Loved Fairly Odd Parents as a kid) and Toxapex from Pokemon (min-maxed god pokemon who exists to make the meta's stall problem worse) and the direction Sonic has taken since it stopped trying to do 3d right.
But everyone already gets why Chloe sucks, PokeShowdown stall is cancer, Sonic Utopia is a better Sonic game than Forces, and DmC is shit.
Maybe if the major ponyfan websites weren't anti-scrutiny circlejerks run by psychotic leftists, the fandom would speak out more against bad writing. Maybe we'd have more fangames. I hear it was an argument on a Sonic forum that caused someone to make Green Hill Paradise to prove a point. Constructive debate has value, and I wish more media fans saw that value.
And I wish this fandom had something like the sonic fandom's yearly fangame expo.
I'm glad you like my silver story. Sometimes I feel like all the time I spent planning and writing and caring about this was wasted, even if it was fun to do so at the time. But I'm glad someone likes it. I've almost finished Chapter 1 part 1 of his rewritten story, I'm calling his show something different now.
>>243384Sounds good, any links/suggestions to specific vids I can show these churchgoers?
