This is a city thing and mainly Tokyo. I have been living in Osaka for ten years and never seen such places. Even after the documentary when I was more aware of what to look for I have not actually seen on of these places.
However yes, if you look at the manga including the stuff aimed at young girls you do have to wonder if it is good or not. One manga aimed at 10/11 year old girls has a little cuite monster with its tits out.

I do not think for one second that this stuff pushes or encourags bad behaviour. I comsumed all sorts of sick stuff when I was young, a long time before the internet and I do not go out killing, raping, shaging underage girls or boys. It is a complete falsehood.

Recently in the UK commons the woman and equalities committee have been discussing pornography and its role is misogynistic tendencies. Two things have that have been said but not given much media coverage.

1. Even though the male population as a whole have enjoyed online porn on a small selection of them have acted in a nasty way to women. When asked why some men can view the stuff but not end up as deviants the researcher who has been doing her work for 20 to 30 years had no answer.

2. When asked about the increase of available porn and the incidences of rape and molestation the government minister stated that it in fact was negatively correlated and therefore the increase in porn and lead to a decrease in sex crimes.

Yes. It is impossible to think that all the loli shit is just stylistic choices. Someone is buying that stuff. A better question is whether on not anime and manga propagates pedophilia. I don't care what sick bastards do as long as no innocents are hurt. However, if more pedos are created or if the images give incentive to act, that is not good. Actual evidence would be required for a legal remedy though.

Fully agreed. I want to play devil's advocate here though, and ask without anime, mlp, or video games would the people have done what they did? Obviously not everyone who views loli becomes a pedo or viewing mlp makes them a literal horse fucker, but is there really no correlation?

There is a connection but it's a result, not the cause imo. Going back to games again, A violent person will naturally gravitate towards violent media for example.

There has to be some kind of vent for the pressure, or else a lot of them will end up eventually turning to real kids. Definitely the far lesser evil to allow it since it's harmless.

You see this is where things go wrong. You can’t create a pedo, since actual pedophilia is a mental illness that makes someone only capable of sexual attraction towards children
However you can create degenerates, which is what makes up most of the homos, pedos, and trannies nowadays. people doing it either to fufill some fantasy or for attention.
Now the toughest question is whether something actually ‘promotes’ degeneracy. Because if theres one thing is that the subject material doesn’t actually have to be degenerate to gain the attention of degeneracy. MLP in it of itself is a prime example, since the show itself is very child-friendly, but if you got to places like derpibooru or here theres all kinds of degeneracy that uses ponies as the subject material.
So if MLP didn’t exist, would those degenerates had existed? chances say they would still exist, only in different mediums. To stop the advance of degeneracy is pretty much impossible in this day and age though, since its much harder to control the flow of degenerate material, and people will fight for their right to degeneracy.
