I'm having a good night. Today just finished solving a troublesome problem at work that had been plaguing my co-workers for months. I'm really happy that is done with. Tech support was worthless, the utility that they wanted me to fix the problem with was completely fucked and would give different results when given the same inputs, and at the end of the day it was querying the wrong database tables in the first place.
After a lot of headaches, I found the five relevant tables that needed to be joined together out of hundreds so that I can fix the records that are fucked with one UPDATE statement. I'm REALLY glad to have that behind me.
Also, at home, I just finished an early version of a project that I was working on. I play some mobile games on my phone. Sometimes I find myself in situations where I'd prefer to automate some tasks with macros, but occasionally developers frown on that and take measures to block software like auto-clickers. I realized that I had recently bought a 3D printer, so I bought a stylus, designed and printed a stylus holder that attaches to the hot end assembly of the printer, and then wrote a simple program to generate the gcode instructions to drive the stylus around. It's working pretty well! My 3D printer is currently farming feathers for me in Fire Emblem Heroes. I'd take a picture of it in action, but my phone is my only camera right now and it's busy getting poked.
There is still room for improvement since it fails every now and then. I need to tweak the functions that randomize the actions, and I need to more precisely measure the locations of what I'm trying to click since I kind of half-assed it the first time around. I should probably also make a frame to hold the phone in precisely the same position on the build plate every time.
