I'm convinced that she's not really a pony and is in fact just a facet of some elder-thing from a higher plane of existence. She doesn't use magic, but she's frequently seen doing what should be impossible and she even occasionally breaks the fourth wall to the viewer. She's not bound by the same laws of physics as the rest of the ponies, she just pretends that she is most of the time.
