Looking back the final nail in the coffin was when moot bailed. At this point I think even if Hiro agreed to give us our board back (which I honestly doubt he will because I don't think he even pays attention to the site or cares) we should stay here and just use 4/mlpol/ as a Reddit containment space.

Bill Nye has been in the news lately making waaaahves about Trump's environmental policies. He was behind that March for Science that happened the other day and his new show from what I gather is basically just the Daily Show with a "science" veneer draped over it.

Basically he's just a TV personality with a meme degree who can successfully present himself as a science expert because the millennial retards who grew up with his show are too bluepilled to know the difference.

I have lost all respect that I used to have for Bill Nye. As a child, his shows inspired me to focus on my studies and strive for excellence in science and mathematics.

Now he supports these anti-scientic method zealots who want to turn science into their new religion and silence all who question their dogma. It is the very opposite of science.

I would be fine with him if he had just stuck to doing what he did well. He did a show about basic science topics and encouraged children to take an interest in science and examine the world objectively, which was good. You don't need to be an actual scientist for that, your only role is to be entertaining enough to get the audience interested in what you're talking about and encourage them to explore it for themselves.

The problem is he fell victim to the delusion that just because you play a scientist on TV that means you can be a scientist in real life. He's basically joined the left-wing cult of non-scientists who have an almost religious faith in "science" and anyone presenting their personal political view as being "backed by science." Ironically science for these people is not so much the process of forming an understanding of the world by objectively evaluating available data as it is placing blind faith in anything said by anyone purporting themselves to be a "scientist", even if that person is just a TV character they remember from childhood.

Seriously, just because I liked Back to the Future doesn't mean I think Christopher Lloyd is an expert on quantum mechanics.
