Nothing, really. I didn't give a shit about it until 4/1/17 and some autists convinced me to start watching it. I thought it was a cute show with a good message, sadly as it progressed it veered off course and now it's just a thin stew of weak writing and SJW crap like the majority of children's shows. The fan content is probably better than the canon material at this point.

I expected it to be a show for little girls that had an inconceivably high viewership amongst adults, who (per the reputation) had issues and were worthy of derision.
Thats not what I found.
What I found was a delightful experience that unironically pointed out subtle and not-so-subtle ways that I was a douchebag who missed out on certain life lessons. I know the series and fandom will never appeal to certain (most IMO) demographics, but I don't mind 'getting it'.
I expected it to be a show for little girls that had an inconceivably high viewership amongst adults, who (per the reputation) had issues and were worthy of derision.
Thats not what I found.

I wasn't expecting anything. Actually, I was wondering why the fuck there was so many pictures with ponies and why this show is popular. I decided to watch the 5 first episodes then I would decide if I want to continue or not, to give a chance.
And it was a nice surprise. I started to watch when the show was at the end of the season 2. With all the work, it was obvious that the show was made for everyone and not only the little girls but now, I think the show is more a propaganda sjw shit than what it used to be. I just keep watching because eh, there might be a good episode and it would be a shame to miss that one. I intend to watch the next generation, to give it a chance even if I'm deeply afraid of what it will be.

I expected it to be a boring kids show like 90% of what was on but surprisingly It was great and the only thing that was stopping me from watching was the fear of being judged. So glad I got over that for the most part.
