You can see what I'm typing as I'm typing it. Some of them use this and have people replying to posts below theirs, for example. There are also card games and limited posting windows and so on.

Hiding is more about the ability of the site you a visiting over your own ability. In 2008 when I was newly in Japan I still wanted to watch English television. The choice was iPlayer or TV-Catchup. iPlayer was and is still easy to fool. TV-Catchup was virtually impossible on account that some of the people running it had originally set the p2p sites and had hard core knowledge. I had several solutions but my favourite and most successful was using the IP from a signal cabin used by London Underground. As long as the data usage was within range they never noticed. Tor does too much work for people and they have got lazy compared to the people who need to protect their hard work.
