I think the universe has a natural bias towards entropy (Left-wing) and chaos (Libertarian). We have a natural attraction to those things but they also destroy us. I think civilization needs a bias away from those things and so needs a slight bias towards authoritarian right-wing. Civilization needs rules and hierarchy. In physics this is akin to gravity, it sets limits on how much chaos and entropy is allowed. The rules should apply equally to all and the hierarchy should be based on merit. Nature will be against this, which is why we struggle so much.

Any society that is completely meritocratic from the ground up, one in which your survival depends on it, and that came with absolute freedom.
I would rather every day until I die be a struggle than be cushioned on the backs of others from an unintended fall of my own creation. I would rather burn out as a primal fire at the peak of my life than gutter and spark meekly into the void. I can't stand the thought of being useless, and if I proved as much in said society then I would die happily, knowing my best had taken me as far as it could regardless the distance.
Unfortunately I'm not sure what that state would be called, apart from maybe anarcho-capitalist, since I don't read much on the subject.

Failing either of those, a post civil war America likely split into several smaller nation's loosely based off the same original model.

Basically a nation ruled by king, where actions against a Bible and Pope word is forbidden. The primate has last word in any problems with interpretation of Bible, but king may appeal to pope. Word of the Pope is ultimate, no appeals. The military is taught that in cases when King tries to ignore word of pope their duty is to overthrow a king, and with help of the church choose new one, the holiest man from nobility (it's honorar title, the king and bishops may appoint limited amount of nobles).
