My favourite measure, although not directly measuring stereotypical "whiteness", is asking how many generations you can track down your lineage.

Why?

Digging up and comparing old documents (public and private) is your best bet to figure out what you are and where you came from if you don't want to give away your genetic code. Plus it gives you the most info possible about your family specifically.

I was lucky enough to have a grandfather who spent the last ten years of his life working on a huge genealogy project. At the time I didn't think it was important, but thanks to him, I now have a detailed story of who my family was and what they were doing for the last few centuries, plus some bits and pieces from farther back. The things he uncovered are actually what got me started on this whole redpill business in the first place.
And if you uncover something interesting in your family line, for the love of God don't go around just bragging about how you wuz a kang. Live up to your legacy, or rise above it. Anything less is a disgrace.

Are your ancestors actually British? If they were from Poland for example then that might partly explain why some people ask where you're from.

Regarding family research. Lies and cuckolding happens and that can greatly complicate/derail the search, the fact that you're descendant from an Orphan doesn't help either.
DNA testing is the most sure way if you actually want to know your own ancestral makeup.
Can't give any recommendation about unkiked DNA testing companies thought.

My grandmother on my mother's side is Irish, so that's a quarter confirmed non-white blood already, my grandfather on my mother's side was english, my grandfather on my father's side was scottish, and then the grandmother descended from the orphan is from denmark. The thing is, she never had to deal with questions as to her Danish heritage, so I think there's some recessive genes messing me up somewhere. I have a cousin with darker skin as well, darker than me though, it sticks out compared with the rest of the family.

Well, it came to Europe thousands of years ago before Europe was a thing, it has sufficiently white skin with overall european looks and lastly, erected a self-sufficient country within the territory of europe. As far as I am concerned, Irishes are white.
