I've listened to a few dozen hours of his lectures so I think I have a good understanding of his worldview. I never felt the need to buy anything from him and the ideas he presents (which he never claims to take credit for) have had a noticeable positive influence on my life. He spreads the Christian ideas of individual retribution and responsibility across the western world which is what we millenials and gen zeds who never went to church or had traditional upbringings desperately need.
Please share your thoughts, for or against, I just want to read something that isn't from shareblue
i didnt even know who he was before people asked about him in a Jim stream, which prompted him to make a video about the butthurt. this whole thing of him become the next backseat bus nigger went pretty much over my head
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iFi4p4QC44he seems like just another dishonets hyprocritical e-celeb to me. highly overrated and a gold digger like few i have ever seen.
>>143431I might be the odd one out but I actually enjoy listening to the videos I've seen of him. I may not agree with everything he says but there is quite a good amount of thought provoking discusson that can come from him.
But at the same time I also listen to communists and socialists on a regular basis because I like to know what the enemy thinks
>>143432Jim clearly has no idea what he's talking about and I lost a lot of respect for him after this whole thing. It's clear he has no research or even bothered to watch a full interview if he's going to complain about Peterson not wanting to answer the question about his denomination and then pretends that's a binary question like gender. Also he talks down to his listeners and acts really high and mighty about having a strong family and influence growing up, with no empathy for millenials who did not. It just makes him look like an ass.
>inb4 internet dad who told me to clean my room.I haven't listened to too much of his material but I remember his lectures on western archetypes and the eternal dominance hierarchy being fairly compelling. I have been meaning to listen to his maps of meaning lectures, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
His interview with Cathy Newman is pretty lulzy for those that haven't seen it and has become a bit of a classic.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMcjxSThD54 >>143444The maps of meaning lectures were really eye opening for me. If you've studied the bible closely it likely won't be anything new but he also goes into detail about eastern and ancient religion to prove the truth of the old testament
>>143431he's a Jungian. another Jungian Joseph Campbell was very similar, especially concerning the role and function of religion. Peterson is what academics used to be. I don't agree with everything he says but overall I find listening to his lectures to be refreshing, considering the SJW cancer that has taken over academia. his critique on modern society is spot on. my only problem with Peterson is he doesn't seem to value cultural identity. which I absolutely disagree with. Peterson is like everything else, you take what you can from it and discard the rubbish.
He's self help and self help tends to spiral into mental masturbation without action. He's fine for protips but you gotta actually do it instead of just feeling good pretending to be a better person because you watch his vids. Self help in general is an endless pit that just leads to unwarranted egos in ppl if they aren't careful.
>If your room isn't clean right now you're listening to him wrong
Honestly, his worldview, philosophies, and insights, while interesting, are more of a secondary interest to me: I've spent a lot of time introspecting on those subjects myself, and can take or leave most of his opinions. What really interests me about him, is the manner in which he expresses his views.
Marketing and presentation of an idea matter just as much as a core idea itself, and in normal circumstances, most people with good ideas are utter failures at presenting their ideas even within their own spheres, let alone outside of them. And while his core ideas get a lukewarm reception from me most of the time, if that, it's always his presentation of the ideas that sucks me in.
His manner of speaking, his body language, his constant relation of concepts to the personal lives of those in attendance - not unsurprising, considering his background in psychology - and his usage of storytelling, constantly relating his ideas and concepts to old stories, particularly Biblical ones, bringing up and utilizing literary archetypes; all that, and a host of other factors.
It makes his speeches, talks, and other appearances a pure pleasure to watch, even if I have my disagreements. It's a near-perfect blend of preparedness and spontaneity, of humility and certainty, and he's clearly had a lot of time to practice that routine. Small wonder why many people keep deifying the guy.
If nothing else, he is a high-quality template for me: a template in how to convey your ideas, a laundry list of exactly what to do, when both trying to convince others, and defend your own position. Because at the end of the day, a line like this:
The Jews have always been a constant threat to our continued existence: history is rife with examples of this, practically flowering with warnings to never trust them, ranging from writings to pictures. It falls to us to break that cycle, to finally rid the world of their influence; "And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. Truly I tell you, all this will come on this generation".
That will always, and forever, be infinitely more palatable, infinitely more likely to break through an average normie's conditioning, than:
Yes, goy, I'm sure (((they))) appreciate such a good ally like you! Don't look at (((their))) connections to every megacorporation that I will now point out in this huge autistic redstring map I'll post along with this! Psh, silly goy. I can't wait for the day of the rope to come at last.
One hits people's minds where it matters. The other does not.
>>143431He has some interesting things to say.
>>143431I find his lack of criticism of the jews, especially as one who claims to have studied the nazis extensively, disappointing at best. He's a wealth of knowledge and insight as for how to sort one's self, but I find his credulity to do with holocaust statistics and reporting and (((possible influences))) to be intellectually appauling. For one who is so vehemently critical of socialism/communism and the things it has historically brought about, I can't condone his oversight wrt germany during/post WW2.
he's just some faggot pushing (((individualism))) which is antithetical to a racially and family oriented society
Persuasion pro.
Whether you like him or not he has good persuasion strategies you can replicate formula-like.
For example use of storytelling and narratives.
Politically active in Canada.
Free speech / Freedom to be offended and offensive.
Thinks le Merchant is fine.
Recently went full sperg, wrote a whole book 'debunking' the Jewspiracy.
I'll admit Jews aren't in a ethnic conspiracy but they definitely are over-represented and underhanded, nepotistic, gypsies.
Jews also importantly benefit from combined religious, ethnic and cultural neptism / tribalism.
Jews aren't definitively smarter than whites and are mathematically over-represented by huge margins, despite what Lobsterboi thinks.
The fact people ITT are sperging hard blocktext over Peterson like theological dribbles is more proof he is merely a cult of personality and useful idiot.
My points can be summed up with the first three paragraph starts and that's a good thing. Brevity is good if you aren't roping in leftist dogs.
I'm not insulting anyone as Peterson leaves alot of wiggle room that facilitates conversation.
>Peterson said this
>but look over here, he said 'this' and '''That means'''
Don't take Peterson and especially Peterson discussions too seriously.
I like how if it wasn't for these pieces of shit ← ← ← nobody would know who the hell he is. Peterson became world famous and I'm sure a millionaire thanks to them acting like cunts.
I started watching his stuff a few days after that happened since he said he put 1,000s of hours of university courses on youtube.
I appreciate his work he makes Nietzsche easier to understand, he teaches people about the evil of communism and the good effects Christianity has had over the years and some of the studies he talks about are very interesting.
I don't like his fan base; redditors talking about "clean your room" memes and cringe wannabe intellectuals. Also I don't like how greedy he is for money looking at his patreon, book & ticket sales he must have made a few million from all this. However if lots of people enjoy his work and want to give him a few bucks each as thanks for the entertainment then what do I care?
I think Metokur found his fan base to be even worse than other fandoms just because a large portion of Metokurs viewers are also fans of Peterson which isn't the case for babyfur and juggalos.
Overall he is a nice purple pill, with his fame he could help many people become redpilled.
Like this for example
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0Rj7qcLu1A>>143643I think Rick Roderick is better at simplifying Nietzsche to people and probably has a better grasp on the writer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZI9asjQnTIMHe also doesn't ramble on as much as Peterson.
I love his synthesizing of multiple sources to make insightful statements about behaviors and archetypal metaphysics. He has honestly driven a lot of my deepened hard right beliefs. His Pinocchio bit is honestly a great lecture about carrying the torch of your ancestors and becoming a man.
He's too "le individual" at times, but I think he genuinely believes it to be the best course to take. He over-demonizes collectivism and is strangely blind on Solzenhitsyn's 200 Year Together for how affectionate he is of the author, but I understand how a public figure would want to avoid that (the alternative is practically risking it all). Never the less he's a truly inspirational speaker who cuts through the political fat and touches on some reasons why society has degenerated without being partisan: which is insanely powerful with how retardedly averse normies are about politics. He's a great leaping off point too for hard right ideas; convince people that commies are bad >convince them Nazis weren't as bad -> show them the strength of natsoc ->JQ pill them. We stand to lose a lot if we just shill hard against JP. He's very useful to our movement as he highlights what the West has turned away from and abandon at its core and gives people a narrative of self improvement while giving them a sense of gratitude toward their ancestry.
