Not going to sit through all 8 minutes of a Young Turds video, but I watched the first 60 seconds and I find this kind of funny. They've done studies on political psychology before, and the one I've seen found that people who identify as liberal are more likely to be severely depressed, bipolar, have high anxiety and low self-esteem. If the shoe fits I guess.
http://neuropolitics.org/Anxiety-Depression-and-Goal-Seeking-in-Conservatives-Liberals-Moderates.htm>>131563It is just that if what the study says is true it reason to think about it.
On the other hand you could also turn it around progressives lack the fear or precaution part that is essential for survival just like the ability to feel pain is leprosy.
I didn't want to dismiss the message because of the messenger and just ask what you guys think about this.
>>131600>people who identify as liberal are more likely to be severely depressed, bipolar, have high anxiety and low self-esteemNah, that just means Millenials and Generation Z are more likely to be liberals. That same description also describes most users of /pol/
>>131604There is no information about the distribution of the group.
>>131604That describes /r9k/. Also considering gen z is to be the most conservative generation in a decade, we will likely see the opposite of these traits.
>>131611The "Generation Z is Conservative" thing is just a meme. It still has more liberals than conservatives, and far more liberals than most generations. The only real difference is that it has fewer moderates
>>131601Well, there's a difference between rational and irrational fear for one thing. Fear of spiders is an irrational fear, and if a person based their entire political ideology on a desire to keep away from and/or eradicate spiders, you'd probably be right in arguing that he was overly paranoid. On the other hand, fear of having your community invaded by violent savages who have no regard for it's norms and values, fear of having your job shipped overseas or given away to an illegal immigrant, fear of having your right to arm and defend yourself taken away, fear that your children will grow up to be amoral degenerates, fear of having your property seized and redistributed; these are all pretty rational and justifiable fears.
>>131563>>131620Hey I found it because of the tucker carlson thread
>>131632I don't blame you, tho watching them melting during Election Night of 2016 was pretty funny.
>>131633When I have a bad day I want media reaction to trumps victory. It helps.
I still can't find the where some liberal admitted something along the lines of "Everybody told me I live in a bubble and don't see the normal persons problem and now I beginn to think they might be right"
>>131631Makes me think about rationality and costs of society.
But it would explain why the (((elites))) are so liberal.
What is there to be afraid of in your mansion? Backstabbing bodyguards?
Who knows how dependable the study is though.
>>131562Not sure if you've watched any of Alt Hypes stuff but he did an podcast or short clip, can't recall which, where he talked about this a lot more. Liberals are more likely to be cult tier, and the more drunk they get the more Conservative they act.
The more education someone gets the more liberal they become. And most of this is genetic not just environmental.
>>131562Conservatives BTFO.
But really, sometimes fear is justified, and it is rational to be afraid of losing our countries to Muslims because they absolutely won't treat us as well as we treat minorities. Just look at what's happening in Europe.
