They aren't even trying to hide what they are doing anymore.
>>129146And Facebook wonders why they're losing traffic.
>>129146Gab.ai is like a rightwing freespeech version of facebook, if you're into yhat kinda thing.
If anyone on this board has a Facebook account, delete it. Right now. Open a new tab, go to Facebook and immediately delete it while you're thinking about it, don't just resolve to do it eventually. Send a message to your friends or whatever explaining that you're leaving for whatever reason you want to tell them and leave ways to contact you if they want to stay in touch, but kill your account.
They will give you the option to "put it on hold" or "go invisible," don't take it. Go for the full delete. That's how you send a message to these people. You are literally their product, if they can't collect data on you to sell anymore it's revenue lost.
There is nothing on Facebook that is essential to your life. Delete it and live better.
>>129165It's the only way I can keep in touch with old friends from college. The instant messenger is still useful
>>129165Can't delete what I never had.
>>129169Dude, go to the permissions in the settings, and disable them. It can track you.
>>129146>Facebook’s news partnership team is led by former CNN anchor>CNN benefits strongest from changes implemented by Facebook’s news partnership teamThis is making me think REALLY hard right now.
>>129165Just shitpost man
They can't sell info about hobbies involving "screaming till a dog drops dead"
>>129332Facebook tracks your visits to any site with a like button.
They have your name and location.
They know what kind of people you associate with.
They know what kind of pages you subsribe to.
They know what kind of pages you spend time reading through.
They track which photos and events your friends tag you in.
They have figured out most of your life history.
Advertisers will lick facebooks toenails to narrow down their audience based on those kind of metrics. That you decided to stop making personal posts at some point would trouble some advertisers, but most already have enough selectors to in- or exclude you from their campaigns.
>>129337Nah
I am seriously shady as fuck when it comes to my privacy, a guy tried to blackmail me once and he fell for my "I was born in Italy" story.
The only one following me everywhere is Google thanks to this shitty phone that keeps recording everything I do.
I never really saw any reason to get a Facebook in the first place, so none of this affects me. I don't have a Twitter, either, for that matter.
>>129383GOOGLE AND FACEBOOK ARE IN CAHOOTS YOU FUCKING NIGGER, GET SOME CUSTOM FIRMWARE ON THAT BRICK RIGHT FUCKING NOW.
>>129383Others aren't, so when you tell people to "just shitpost", they'll get the wrong idea.
>>129332That's what I used to do. However I feel that the ultimate dank shitpost would be watching Mark Zuckerkike reeeeeee helplessly as his life's dream slowly goes the way of myspace.com.
Just delete your Kikebook accounts people.
>>129428I really want to, but I'm afraid there's people I'll never hear from again if I do
>>129429>phones>text messages>skype>email>discord>handwritten letters>walkie talkies>telegraph>smoke signals>JUST FUCKING LEAVING YOUR HOUSE TO VISIT PEOPLE EVERY ONCE IN A BLUE MOON YOU AUTISTliterally all methods of keeping in contact with people.
>>129412But anon if I drop the facade, then they would realise something is up.
As long as I know just how much I'm letting them know, it should be fine.
>>129428I would rather not, it's a really useful way to spy on people, I just meet a girl and got her Facebook?
Now I know where she lives, where she went last summer, her favorite food, political views, likes..
It's a horrible datamining site, yet it is very useful when your realize it.
>>129430Actually, with a tk80 we could make a network via radio, with a limited speed, but worldwide.
Like, the first radio-based imageboard.
>>129146Facebook is for gay retards.
>>129165I deactivated mine, didn't see an option to permadelelte it unless you are dead and before you died you requested faceberg to delete your account after death.
Is deactivation good enough?
>>129442Thats a good one!
We just need to get an HF capable device for everyone and an encripted frequency (maybe we could use HOP to ensure privacy)
So we get a completely private chan!
>>129337And this my friends is why you don't allow your computer to connect to Facebook's, under any circumstances.
If you see Facebook comments, you have done something wrong. If you see a Facebook like button, you have done something wrong.
If at all possible, do the same with Google- don't even connect to their fucking font servers.
Nearly all variants of adblock will allow you to do this.
>>129519>>129442Holy shit that's actually a really good idea.
>>129487https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/mac-software/how-completely-delete-your-facebook-account-3529463/There's no way to tell if your account is 100% deleted, I'm guessing they still keep some things in their database, but if you follow these steps it will at least put an end to your visible presence and their ability to track you. According to this site your account is deleted after 14 days, this is what I did and I confirmed that I can no longer log in. You might want to also consider a complete wipe and reinstallation of your system to get rid of any tracking software they might have put on your machine. Phones are a little bit trickier, if you're really paranoid you may want to just change providers and get a prepaid or something, otherwise I guess just uninstall the app and dissociate the account from or ideally uninstall every app you gave Facebook permission to talk to.
>>129678Call it blackpilled, but something tells me Facebook doesn’t actually delete your account. If you’ve ever given your info to Facebook or Google, they probably still have it. The best you can do is try to prevent them from getting any more.
>>129146And when I momentarily check Facebook for the messenger service, I see Facebook's own trending news reports "Facebook suspends Trump-linked firm Cambridge Analytica"
My view is that anyone studpid enough to have a facebook account at anytime in the last decade deserves everything they get.
Facebook warned them quite clearly their data was going to be used. Facebook warned them about content and the whole internet community was tin-hatting about it for years.
My other view is that traitor boy Christopher Wylie needs a healthy does of gypsy-jizm.
>>129745Facebook is going to suffer quite a lot soon. EU law and UK law are changing and the UK body in charge of this will be able to fine it 4% of global profit for non-compliance as well as have powers for internal inspections. Either facebook delete all data of EU citizens including UK or will essentially get shut out of advertising funding.
Those who are eating the vomit news that CA are the bad guys wont need to wait for long to the reach around.
bullshit
if the face book had a point of view why are they making buisness decisions for it and promoting retard culture
>>129946Non-compliance with which laws? Laws concerning privacy and data?
