What is reported (unconfirmed) is that Mike Pompeo is viewed as better suited in the coming talks with North Korea. Also that Tillerson haven't done a particular good job, and that Tillerson isn't that interested in Foreign Affairs but more interested in changing the Secretary of State. Also Tillerson isn't particularly liked by the other employees in the State department.
