For a first attempt this is a pretty good job, anon.
You have a good voice for recording, good graphical presentation, nice touch with the ponies.
My only critique for improvement would be that you were stumbling on your words at a few points. I'm assuming that's because you were reading off a script you made in advance? While having a script is important, you should pause the recording occasionally and take a breather.
Not every sentence I mean. But anybody who tries to read a slab in one go is bound to slip up once or twice.
>>12510I like it, and I even think your proof of concept works great as it is now. It is way better than much of what is out there. Only thing I missed was the test you promised to give me at the end.
>>12510Man, the ponies are just so out of place with this kind of topic. That juxtaposition really fucking irks me.
Other than some pacing issues (when splicing stuff together), it was decent. Don't be afraid to do multiple takes of a line, either.
>>12511>>12512>>12513Thanks for the quick replies guys! I have to head to bed now, work in 5 hours.
I'll definitely practice reading from a script more
Yeah I kind of recorded that test idea, then realized that the last vid should be ended without commentary for impact. The question of course was if police in america are enabling terrorism.
I like the juxtaposition because it creates emotional impact and makes it memorable, admittedly I'm thinking of going up against SJW stuff over legitimate hard core issues. Some feminazi saying crazy shit meshes better with the lighthearted shit-talk than domestic terrorism for sure.
>>12510nice voice, you must be qt
>>12517Well, in that particular case, Alex Jones is basically already a cartoon character.
But when you put a picture of a colorful, cheerful pony next to footage of cops wanting to help but being ordered to stand down while a dude gets the shit beaten out of him, it just doesn't mesh.
This is of no fault of OPs', by the way. It just riles up some emotions within me that I find jarring, is all.
I have an idea for political meme.
Make a comic consisting of 3 panels.
1 panel: Some diseartening/shocking/disgusting display or happening news.
2 panel: Warhammer 40k drop pod lands on the ground
3 panel: In front of opened drop pod is warhammer40k dreadnaught with some features that remind of reich/hitler or other edgy stuff.
Insert suppository phrase like following:
-Not even in death does the Reich end.
-Not even in death can my kampf end.
-Apothecary, me must secure White/Aryan geneseed!
-I am gonna need double (insert weapon) for this heresy.
>>12517[cans.wav]
Man, I haven't been in one of Ghost's broadcasts for way too long.
>>12523i suggest using a black templar dreadnaught with some slightly altered appearance. Add a Stahlhelm and some swastikas, maybe a Totenkopf and you good.
>>12510All in all it was pretty good, definitely waaay above average for a first attempt.
Some practice reading a script will do wonders for you. Specifically, I'd recommend working on your pacing and alternating the tone of your voice to further drive home your point and to come off a little less robotic sounding. It might not be a bad idea to end with a short parting thought either, the video cutting off abruptly seemed a tad jarring to me.
I liked the inclusion of the ponies but I'd try to use them subtly or just leave them out when showing something shocking like the ending clip, you don't want your viewing audience's attention getting split when showing something important like that.
The only complaint I have about the video itself is the title. At first glance I thought it was going to be critical of the officers that were forced to watch this all happen. Something like "California Cops Forced To Support Terrorism" would work well without giving the first impression of being a Cop bashing piece.
I definitely enjoyed it though. Keep up the good work!
>>12510its pretty good. Would watch again.
-big Aryanne waving out flag with a swastika on it, around the same time, the guy says: "…and they call me a nazi!"
>>12538Thats a Cartoon of Alex Jones but I too miss getting the cans.wav from Ghost
>>12551>>12554Read all reviews, on phone at work thanks guys.
>>12598- i suggest adding more commentary toward the end, it felt drawn out
- don't bother censoring Aryanne, people will find out anyways
- if you can, add material about the ruling administration of the californians police or draw some cross-references to the inept police in sweden
>>12510We need more ponified political analysis
>>12523>>12547I made a thread for this on /r/ if anyone wants to help me out or propose ideas.
https://mlpol.net/r/res/129.htmlThis one is probably easies one to edit
OP here, I think I found my next topic. The Mayor is an Antifa member and probably told the police to stand down. See here on the archive:
http://archive.is/dWKfR The groups the mayor is a part of.
And you can verify on the wikipedia page for the Sacrimento Riot in 2016, BAMN is in allegence with Antifa
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Sacramento_riotand again this past week:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Berkeley_protestsThe only possible reason I could see the mayor of the city issuing a stand down order is to prevent his terrorist affiliations from being prosecuted.
Some might not get why there's ponies with such a video, but you're making a point and that's worth sharing.
>>12510Watching this video I can understand why last night you wanted Aryanne without the swastika. I didn't know you were doing serious political analysis.
>>13227swastika is still on the flag tho
>>12510the audio difference between the footage and your commentary was pretty big but other than that it was alright
Over all I found the video enjoyable. The commentary was pretty good despite the couple fuckups. However, I really dont think the ponies added anything to it and kinda drew your attention away from the rest of the vid.
Good job tho and keep making more.
>>12510Not a bad test. The flow was a little choppy, but I would imagine that your speech will flow better after you get a few videos under your belt and get comfortable with everything.
I felt like there were too many ponies though. I liked how the OC pony acts like the narrator, but thought the others were overkill. I would personally limit the video to the OC and a maximum of 1-2 other ponies for reaction shots.
A couple of ponies lightens the mood of a serious topic. A lot of ponies turns a serious topic into a cartoon.
>>12510Good start bro. Really hitting it on the head with cops in Commiefornia. I actually spoke to a couple of officers around my neighborhood shortly after BSM's first appearance and they were able to shed a little light.
One thing that stuck out was "Different precincts have different strategies."
It really makes perfect sense that someone could be directing police not to intervene directly, as a "strategy" of some kind. One of the cops also answered as best he could what "reasonable use of force" would be if you were to hit or hurt someone in self defense or the defense of others.
Basically just ward them off and don't chase them down.
Other than that, work on your editing and get a better microphone.
>>13678My microphone was real hot, it's actually a good mic, I just had the settings in ableton turned way up for some unknown reason. Thanks for the encouragement. I'll try to make it extra tight just for you.
Also I found out the Berkley mayor is a member of antifa so it's going to be a fun video. But I'm taking some time with hit to really hit the tone I want.
>the Berkley mayor is a member of antifa
I wouldn't even be fucking surprised.
>>13709If I'm not mistaken, the Mayor is actually the womanlet at the end of the video person screaming "Get the fuck off o our streets" and pushing that guy trying to get the police to step in.
>>13714nah, that's just some aggro high level activist. Can't remember her name but she's fucking crazy.
>>12694Wasn't the "woman" who were agitating in the end of your video a BAMN organizer if I recall correctly (at least high up it the BAMN hierarchy). She was also teacher for grade school children but that is another matter.
>>13760yeah she's a BAMN organizer, and is facebook friends with the Mayor, and they're both in the BAMN facebook group.
>>13763>yeah she's a BAMN organizer, and is facebook friends with the Mayor, and they're both in the BAMN facebook group. There it is, I knew she was involved with the Mayor somehow.
