>>124060What genres do you like?
I'm playing Stellaris right now. The game just released a major update that added planet crackers.
In my current game my faction doesn't really have much to do with /mlpol/ besides the name and the flag that I modded in, but I'm planning to try and ask /vx/ for input for creating a new faction in the game and then updating them with periodic reports of our faction's conquest of the stars.
I'm a little spooked by the unoccupied territory within the heart of the green "Fallen Empire" to the far north of the map. FE's are essentially super powers that won the game before you even started, but they've withdrawn from galactic politics and are now sleeping giants.
>>124752People say Stellaris is boring and repetitive, but I personally like it for the shear ability to conquer all of space, aside from when RNGesus fucks me over, and my rank 5 scientists screw up several times at investigating rank 1 anomalies.
That emblem is noice, too. Is it available to the public, or are you planning on making it so?
>>124755I haven't uploaded the mod to the workshop. I've made some kind of mistake naming the flag category. It should be localizing to "MLPOL", but instead it's defaulting to FLAG_CATEGORY. I don't want to upload the flag mod until I find whatever typo that I've made.
The images used to make the flag are in the *.dds format, which I can't upload here. However I've converted them to PNGs for upload here.
If you use an image editor like photoshop, paint.net, or gimp, then you can convert these back to *.dds files and create your own flag mod using the instructions in the FAQ on the Stellaris wiki. Paint.net and gimp are both free, but you'll need a plugin to export in the DDS format with gimp.

>>124060Play some Guitar Hero my man
>>124752I don't really have favourite genres yet because I haven't played enough games of every genre to make up my mind. I guess I'm not really a fan of RPGs or FPSes.
soulcalibur II.
Just pick a character you like and just learn how to play them.
Fightings games can be tough, but ultimately the stuff is simple to remember, but there’s a lot to remember.
>>124887I have the 3rd game for ps2. What do I play 2 on?
If you've never played Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, it's a game that I think everyone should play at some point in their lives. The sequels are meh.
>>124060I'm sorry but I can't look at that colour scheme without thinking it's about tide-pods.
Every waking hour of my life is consumed by the thought of trying one but I know it would kill me. What about the suds??

do you not remember the unfunny "haha lmao cake lol" glad0s spam?
>>124752>StellarisI sure hope you like marauder invasions every five years by 14k fleets you can't hope to deal with because they broke tech progression.
>>125299Marauders are scary until you realize that they're allergic to FTL inhibitors. Then they're pretty easy to coax into a trap.
>>125299I've gotten lucky in my game: the closest two marauder enclaves to me are in VERY bad positions: the first is encircled by three Advanced AI Start nations (one Democratic Crusader, one Determined Exterminator, and one Ravenous Horde), and the other has a number of Advanced and normal AIs to deal with before they even get close to worrying about me.
The real problem with Marauders is how they will attack everything en-route to their target even if it is owned by someone who isn't their target,so a big fleet can show up with no warning and blind side you and wreck some of your shit.
But if you're the target, then they're pretty manageable. From my observations, they always seem to attack along the shortest route between their homeworld and one of your colonies that does not take them through a system containing an FTL inhibitor. So you have a good idea of which territory has stations that are at risk of being assailed. You can setup starbases with FTL inhibitors to manipulate that route and divert them around systems that you want to safeguard.
The marauder fleets, at least in my experience, are generally something that you can reasonably fight if the target world is defended by an upgunned starbase that is supported by your entire navy. Even if you don't win, the fight is probably going to be close enough that your casualties will be relatively low with most of your ships disengaging. You should be able to bloody the pirates enough to give you some wreckage to reverse engineer after the fight. Don't think of it as a major defeat. There marauders aren't capturing the territory and aren't breaking anything that can't be repaired. Think of it as an purchasing ship/admiral XP and reverse engineering research boosts.
Worst comes to worst, you can try to spend all of your resources in advance of their invasion so that your coffers don't contain anything for them to steal, or you can pay their tribute.
In my current game, the raider fleets are ~9k in strength while my largest fleet is ~7k in strength. Although my total naval strength is ~11k, and my starholds with full defensive modules have a listed strength of 3.8k.
>>125394Shit, that little gem have eluded me.
>guess it is time to hunt the net for a copy Stalker shadow of cherbobyl
Spring RTS (with Balanced Annihilation) is free, and by far the best RTS game I know.
It doesn't have many players, so I've been thinking of making a thread about it with a set date for everyone interested to come try it at once to get plenty of evenly-skilled matches going. Not sure how to make that though, as the denizens of 4chan especially tend to treat mere suggestions like that like a dictator just marched in trying to boss them around.
>>125416Very much worth playing, one of my favorite games of all time. Full title is Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame. Be careful when you look for it because Ubisoft put out a remake a few years ago that is just awful, you want the original 1993 version.
