Damn it, meant to post a cropped version.
Anyway, the region's planned out, every town is named and its purpose in the game is solidified, I've sprited 50 out of 120 original Pokemon so far, and the accessible but powerful introductory redpills will be many. I'm also thinking of adding two new types to this game, but I have yet to decide what those types will be called or if they'll have any special significance in the way Fairy did in Gen 6.
>>112371Yes. It's pretty niche already, but you're adding pokemon and mlp into the mix. Unless you manage to consolidate both demographics, then you might make the game more inclusive.
make appul horse a ground type pokeman
>>112378I'm only giving this game redpilled politics subtly woven into the usual "Fight an evil region and save the world while searching the land and finding rare Pokemon and beating the eight gyms" story. I want to redpill kids with this and do my part. I've seen enough videos about good and bad game design to know how to make a good game, and the tutorial series on RPG maker XP looks simple. Defining new Pokemon, creating new areas, all of this will be easy.
No MLP. For now. Do you think I should put MLP into this? I'd be willing to add one NPC-only original Pokemon for each backer's cameo appearance, and "Ponymon Dusk and Dawn" already proved pony Pokemon can work.
>>112394Can be done. Should I give her a modified Scrappy ability, so she can hit Flying-type Pokemon?
>>112400*an evil team in a new region
>>112403no make up an appul related ability and give her ground type buck appuls attack moves
>Nintendo fangames
The moment you start to collect money they will plant you a nice Cease and Desist. Use your effort for an original game better.
An idea for an original game is a Metroidvania ambiented in a 1984 and Brave New World-like dystopia, where your Main Character is a guy that fell from a ship exploring Antarctica in the late 1940s, was somehow cryogenized by Antarctican ice and reappears 120 years later, in late 2060s in a surprisingly big Antarctica city.
He finds a world where he's basically the only one who isn't vigilated 24/7 by the World State, isn't in the World database and, as such, The AI (the world governor) doesn't have a plan and a carefully built routine for him. As you are quickly seen as a danger for the World Order, you are prompted to be eliminated.
So you have two options: embrace technology to deal with your inconveniences, or keep the way you are. The drawback is, the more you embrace technology, the more you must obey The AI's orders and become "one of them".
>>112441But using Pokemon Essentials would make it easy. I could finish it quickly enough to have the final version out before the C+D happens.
>>112443Making a good fangame takes years.
A lawyer can have your C&D letter in 30 minutes if they use a template.
>>112453>goodLike Pokemon Clover, a meme fest full of dumb decisions and bad memes? Like Pokemon Uranium, a bad story with bad "Nuclear" Pokemon?
I think I could have this game out in a single month.
>>112459>I think I could have this game out in a single month.Everybody think that, but soon you realize you need more people to do the effort needed even to make a bad game.
Unless you want to do one of those low effort Chinese platformers for Android That depends if whether Kickstarter accepts UnionPay. I could send a few RMB your way. But yes, it's notoriously difficult to get a Nintendo fan-game ought without legal consequences. That Metroid fan game comes to mind.
>>112400I'd just put in a couple of references that only bronies would get, such as "20% cooler" and whatnot. Enough that bronies who happen to play would realize you also like ponies.
And yes, making a good game would take much longer than a month. Even if none of the mechanics change, you need to proof-read the dialogue, compose the music, and generally add the sort of loving detail that makes a game special.
>>112441That would be cool. It's like a cross of Deus Ex, Fallout, and System Shock. It's the sort of idea that could make a great book and be adapted into a good game.
