https://www.wired.com/2016/09/googles-clever-plan-stop-aspiring-isis-recruits/
>GOOGLE HAS BUILT a half-trillion-dollar business out of divining what people want based on a few words they type into a search field. In the process, it's stumbled on a powerful tool for getting inside the minds of some of the least understood and most dangerous people on the Internet: potential ISIS recruits. Now one subsidiary of Google is trying not just to understand those would-be jihadis’ intentions, but to change them.

>Jigsaw, the Google-owned tech incubator and think tank—until recently known as Google Ideas—has been working over the past year to develop a new program it hopes can use a combination of Google's search advertising algorithms and YouTube's video platform to target aspiring ISIS recruits and ultimately dissuade them from joining the group's cult of apocalyptic violence. The program, which Jigsaw calls the Redirect Method and plans to launch in a new phase this month, places advertising alongside results for any keywords and phrases that Jigsaw has determined people attracted to ISIS commonly search for. Those ads link to Arabic- and English-language YouTube channels that pull together preexisting videos Jigsaw believes can effectively undo ISIS's brainwashing—clips like testimonials from former extremists, imams denouncing ISIS's corruption of Islam, and surreptitiously filmed clips inside the group's dysfunctional caliphate in Northern Syria and Iraq.

Make no mistake, anons, we are next.

>A GOOGLE-INCUBATED PROGRAM that has been targeting potential ISIS members with deradicalizing content will soon be used to target violent right-wing extremists in North America, a designer of the program said at an event at the Brookings Institution on Wednesday.

How do we prevent Google from fucking with our minds, or more importantly the minds of gen Z? And how do we cover our tracks?

Best way is to probably just keep doing what we've been doing, which is to maintain islands of free discussion and information on imageboards and alternative media sites. This is really not that much of a leap from the kinds of psyop propaganda campaigns that are already being run through every other form of media and advertising. The error they're making here is in assuming that people only become attracted to right wing politics because they're being "brainwashed" with false information, like a cult or something. For the most part, the right has been successful because we do the exact opposite of this: we simply show people the naked truth, and it's up to them whether or not they want to accept it.

As to GenZ, it's important to remember that these are kids who have grown up not just with the internet, but with the modern internet. I read an article a while back about them. The author described how they tend to have a naturally improved ability to immediately pick up on subtext and bias in things they read and watch, because they're exposed to so much information, as opposed to previous generations who just got all their news from newspapers and television and just assumed that the coverage was objective. They tend to be less influenced by the words and actions of celebrities, because they've grown up with YouTube and they know that it's not that hard to become famous, and that simply being famous does not make a person more intelligent than the average person. They tend to be better equipped at filtering out the noise and making up their own minds, rather than just clicking every banner and accepting everything they read as gospel the way a lot of boomers and GenX, and probably millennials to some extent, tend to do. Personally I think they're going to fare better than us in the long term.

They're already doing this and it's not working, you can't saturate people with propaganda and expect them to come around to your way of thinking.

So far, they've tried to be secretive about it: now they're going to be open about their censorship and gain support by virtue-signalling.

And those fucking "Moderate" liberals will still support them over this.

They'll still think CNN and Buzzfeed are better news sources than Alex Jones and Mark Dice.

How can you call yourself a "Moderate supporter" of a cancerous globalist leftyfascist "surveilance state"-type company of fucking degenerates? By calling yourself a moderate liberal.

Spread this around, remind every normie liberal he's not the hero of this story, or one of the oppressed townspeople, he's part of the problem.
