This strike is going to screw my family's business. We had a huge order of parts coming in from Taiwan, and now that's all going to be held up for weeks. We're not going to be able to get product out the door by the end of the month.
Someone in the White House will blame it on Russia
>>377272when they shoud be b laming the jews
>>377271why would parts from Taiwan be coming into a port on the east/gulf coast? I hate international shipping so goddamn much
well, i got my toilet paper, paper towels, and a cupboard full of canned goods. i'm ready for the worst.
>>377274because it costs less than shipping to the west coast and then by train/truck/plane to the east coast?
I guess this is just one more step after that screwup by the female boat captain in the major trade canal a while ago and the boat that was crewed by (dot) indians crashing into that bridge.
Am I missing any other major shipping-related events?
If people don't have alternate news sites, or some sort of news digest source, or they actually pay a lot of direct attention to individual news stories such that they are able to connect the dots themselves, they're kind of screwed. Then there are the emotional barriers people have against the idea of realizing that their government, which they proactively vote to invest ever more centralized power in, does not have their best interests at heart.
Infrastructure employment seems to have been pretty screwed over like many other economic sectors. Maybe this is just a tipping point, or maybe it's more directly organized. Who knows?
This is general shipping, right? So it's going to mostly affect businesses near the area before consequences radiate outwards to the rest of the country.
>>377332>Am I missing any other major shipping-related events?Indians (seemingly purposely) crashed a boat in to that US bridge and collapsed it.
>>377332>This is general shipping, right? So it's going to mostly affect businesses near the area before consequences radiate outwards to the rest of the country.Oh, we're liable to see immediate affects that will intensify the longer the strike is in effect. Cargo shipping is responsible for the overwhelming majority of international shipping, affecting all major sectors excepting locally sourced materials (construction, lumber), and that last is assuming that gas prices aren't affected (which I would wager they will be).
Grab some marshmellows, cuz the place is about to catch fire.
