I don't know, I haven't watched much of the G5 stuff honestly but from what I've seen it wasn't terrible. I do get the impression it was less successful than they'd hoped, but they could have at least finished what they had planned.
As an aside, I have noticed that G4 merch is slowly creeping back onto shelves. From what I'd heard they started phasing it out around the time the G5 movie was released, to be replaced by G5 branded stuff. My guess is they've realized that G4 is still what makes money, so on the plus side it will probably be easier to find officially branded stuff going forward.
