Nope, they cannot be overfed without medical issues such as a fat bulge on their shoulders that will never go away. Preferably they need a dryer climate and something like an acre per animal, also donkeys are social animals and need at least another buddy to be happy and mentally stable.

But a positive point, they are excellent 24/7 guardians of your chickens and ducks and will kill any coyote or big cat entering the perimeter.
