>>372747So looking deeper into Mare Fair, and the nonprofit organization above holding the event, Snowpity Inc. it becomes clear they got their shit together.
I'm assuming a similar business structure would be more ideal.
First question and it's important is whether the business is a charitable FOR-PROFIT or nonprofit.
From what little I know going from for profit to nonprofit is easier, but considering the subject matter at hand nonprofit for image board fags is very successful.
What would a /mlpol/ convention look like? Obviously mares everywhere and because I have no doubts about the autism and as a marketing standpoint an obviously adult venue. IE cartoon mare pussy ect. The interests are wide and varied.
So potentially the event has a little bit of everything. But that might add alot to expenses.
Due to the nature of how spicy this could potentially get, it might be worthwhile to shove the donations/entry fee/whatever collected money to other non-Spicy non-profit organizations. Unless someone/group in need is willing to be even tangentially associated.
Other thing to consider, would it be a convention convention or some bizarre hybrid?
Such as holding it at alternate venues (hotels, owning property for this purpose, ect.)
I'm fairly sure an online presence and virtual tour would be helpful. Maybe having a fundraiser sort of thing to get this off the ground even more.
There's loads of ways things could balloon into just extra stuff not wanted or needed, but also lots of ways to use such resources.
I think with some strange angles to consider things, it's possible to have an /mlpol/
convention be operable for everyday of the year and manage to be self-sustaining.
Because essentially it's a public forum to freely discuss anything and debate and hangout and vendor opportunity.
But, one thing to consider is. What if it wasn't a convention. What if it was more akin to a condominium or hotel, the managing group is only responsible for technically paying taxes and insurance and utilities not strictly responsible for the tenants.
