Yep, you read that right. There will be a movie stream tonight as we're all trapped in our homes, slowly going insane thanks to coronaAGGGGGHHHHHHH. We'll be watching the MLP, and then after we can decide if we want to watch some show episodes or just repeat the movies while shitposts occur as has always happened historically.
We'll start the movie at REMINDER: Program commences at 5:30 PST instead of 6:30. If this time works out it will likely be the new starting time going forward. Link is https://www.joshwhotv.com/live/0/_60a86255e9759/1 Last thread. >>265636 →

Good news movie night! Sad news, only MLP Movie due to lack of foreplanning. I'll see what I can do while I try to keep the liquid in my brain from leaking out.
>>318086 Sure, just found out how to not do video swapping manually. Also times is this 5:30 PST (aka 8:30 EST or 7:30 CST) So roughly in 3 and a half hours we can start sooner or later depending on feedback.

Hey all, I've been on a bit of an extended sabbatical and haven't been able to participate in /mlpol/-related activities, but I've more or less returned now. I'm willing to resume running the weekly movie nights if you guys would like, though it appears that you've been managing without me for a few weeks now. If whoever has been showing movies in my absence would like to continue doing it that's fine too, I actually don't mind taking a break from it for a while longer. Let me know what you guys would like to do, also I might drop into the stream later tonight.
>>319379 Take as long as you need or want. Because it's neat finding out new movies in the Football house of FishFuck and there's still a few seasons left. So far only been rewatching the movies.
>>319379 >>319385 I should rephrase watching movies is pretty fun with others. Finding them is hard. I'm probably making it harder than is really is. Your preshows are fun and interesting as is the movies.
>>319429 Thanks I wasn't sure but I'm glad. For more horsery I'd recommend peertube instance pony.tube (as in just https://) there are other instances with other things. Very neat concept. >>319428 It's fair, the implementation and selection is superior. Thank you I do appreciate that.
>>319428 This. That anon stepped up and took responsibility for continuing movie night in Elway's unplanned absence is exemplary and laudable. Thanks filly fren
>>319459 Cool link. This is a bit off topic, but another cool link is derpy.tv . It's a livestream of MLP episodes. No chatroom, but it's where I go when I just want to watch pony and don't care about which episode. The fact that it's always playing means that it's basically a randomized selection for me, and I like that.
>>319553 >>319554 I don't remember the exact date, but it was a couple days after the April 1st board merge of 2017, when 4chan staff combined /mlp/ and /pol/ for a day. After the merge, a lot of Anons wanted /mlpol/ back, so the weekend after we were all autistically screeching on /qa/ to let us have it. The 4cuck staff didn't comply, so Atlas (the site's creator) made mlpol.net, so we could keep the ride going.
>>319569 Oh jeez, I'm not sure. I'm so busy these days. Tbh, maybe that's partially a mistake I made for not wanting to switch mediums from the old cytube things we used to do, but I find myself occupied with prior obligations almost every evening. I guess I should try to attend some week, for old time's sake.
>>319570 >>319572 Which program would you prefer (or suggest something): I replay the previous mlp movie selection from last Friday or do a new selection that would be also played this Friday?
>>319684 Theres been a dedicated mlp stream in the past. The only thing barring up to episodes every day or whichever day is anon stepping up and making it happen. No one is advocating for less episodes
Is the dual chat worth having? Other times / days of the week? >off topic question How do you feel about streaming of different content for times other than movie night.
>>319769 Back in the beforetime there were weekly philosophy/psychology streams (lots of Jordan Peterson), anime, mlp, cartoons, and movies. It would not be unprecedented for there to be a non-mlp night/stream, but if one goes the way of benisarea they will be disavowed and/or stricken
>>319769 >Is the dual chat worth having? Dual chat? More than one live chat service for a small stream? Splitting a stream's viewership when there are usually less than 20 people in it sounds like a bad idea to me. I didn't think that anyone would see that as being a positive.
>Other times / days of the week? Wednesday evenings and Thurs/Fri are tough days for me. Saturday or Sunday are good. I can probably swing almost any time then. Other weeknights, depending on the time, also work for me.
>How do you feel about streaming of different content for times other than movie night. I'd be a bit concerned about scattering the viewership a bit too much if we did that. I'm open to the idea, but it might cost a lot of time and organization effort on your part compared to the amount of community engagement you'd get.
>>319777 >I'd be a bit concerned about scattering the viewership a bit too much if we did that. Checked. Yup, the point of saturation will be reached very soon.
>>319685 Same time same place. Going to try a different kind of preshow for a bit live. (Gameplay of pone being violated by hard fast things that may burst with loat of moving sand. Noita but with pony.) Aka now. 5:30 PST (aka 8:30 EST or 7:30 CST) Movies actually start whenever people actually want them to start. https://www.joshwhotv.com/live/0/_60b1994a187f3/1
I suggested that we start showing some fandom videos in between the MLP episodes. We're watching two different recap series'. One with MS Paint, and another "Totally Legit Recap" series. It's fun, and it's going over well. I think we should stick with it.
>>319962 I disagree, those videos are disruptive and frustrating. They extent Movie Night beyond the time allocated and delay what the poners want, either the movies, or the episodes. Better straight to the cheese as always has been.
Thank you everyone for coming. Should there be a Saturday movie night? Or other day? >>319962 >>319966 Going to trim the excess back. While having thematic buffers is interesting it is a buffer to do other stuff and consumes more time. A time to watch them would be good, and it'll be taken more into consideration. There were lots of good times had even with the impromptu additions, and my poking around with stuff didn't help matters. Such as audio and resolution issues.
>Saturday movie night One a week is enough for me personally. I wouldn't be able to make it to Saturday. Also I just found out that Rainbow Roadtrip was actually produced in Ireland, explaining not only the Irish accent but why it felt very wholesome. I actually prefer it to the MLP movie since the plot was less ambitious and it felt like an extended episode.
>>319987 >me personally And what about those that cant make the stream? Shit outta luck? Oh well, better luck next time? There is no prohibition on hosting media streams. There is no authorization process, if u wanna stream ponies on whatever day, then by all means stream ponies. Movie night used to be on sat and/or sunday, so dont 'hold to tradition'
Having two different movies plus a bunch of episodes plus the handful of short recap videos makes for a very long movie night, I agree. I think that if we're to cut things down, then we should cut one of the movies.
A movie night with one movie, a bunch of episodes, and one recap video after each episode sounds like it would take a more reasonable amount of time.
The main draws of the movie night are a regular hangout, a slice of non-pony content, and pony content. I think that fandom videos like the recap ones fit perfectly in this.
Going from 8:30 at night to 3:30 or 4am is excessive and really hard to sustain. I think that 4 hours would be a big enough amount of time to be satisfying, and would still allow for a bunch of content.
How does the streamer manage the streams? It looks like you run some sort of screen capture program and stream stuff from the internet while also watching your own stream in the chatrooms. How do you do the website integration? If I could get a rundown of how the streaming was done on a technical level, then I could maybe look at getting a stream up and running of my own. There are plenty of types of content to stream, so I don't think they'd look too similar. I don't know if I'd be doing it regularly, but it'd be interesting to try running a stream.
Who was using CyTube? Why use Cytube instead of JoshWhoTV? I have a second browser specifically so I can go to the JoshWhoTV streams, so I can understand not liking the technical hurdles. It just seems like cutting the chatroom population in half cuts down on the fun.
>>319971 >Should there be a Saturday movie night? Or other day? I think something on the weekend might be easier to make for a lot of people. For one, it could be scheduled to be at a time where people don't have to be awake at ridiculous hours compared to their normal work-sleep schedule. At the very least, I think it's worth a trial run. If I figure out how to do it, then I'm willing to try hosting one.
>>320043 Why are they not able to make the stream? Is it on too late, or is it on during a day where they have other commitments?
Tomorrow (or now of enough people want to its the same time as yesterday) I'll be doing the exact same stream (and extract same line up) at... whatever time is good. Maybe again next weekend as well to get a feel for the times people are able to be here. >>320056 >How does the streamer manage the streams? Using joshwhotv I take the stream from OBS (they have instructions for that integration, and VLC player) and then I embed the joshwhotv steam (it's in the options tab after clicking Go Live). Because it's only going through one place, the only difference would be the chatrooms for either. >Who was using CyTube? Why use Cytube instead of JoshWhoTV? So My Computer -> Joshwhotv -> Cytube (or where ever you want your stream embeded) Doing it that way is so far the simplest way to extend the stream with no other additions. So OpenBroadcastS while it has its flaws is open to everyone, all the other stuff is built in functionality that OBS (and importantly VLC for automation and autoplay). OBS is also old enough to be extensively documented multiple times in different ways that would suit your needs. The setup time to quickly do stuff is maybe 15 minutes. There's some... interesting little quirks about the program but nothing that is absolutely fatal. https://www.joshwhotv.com/menu/faq https://www.joshwhotv.com/v/1443?channelName=JoshWho+TV Otherwise it's straight foward.
Most of my technical issues stem from me trying something new and messing around beforehand that persist onward accumulating until it becomes a problem.
With that said I think making the Cytube the main movie host sounds like a good idea if I figure out how to get picture uploading to be nice (because it has emotes... and that's about it). Only thing is Joshwhotv chat supports uploading local pictures into chat as is and it'd the first place the stream goes to, the delay for either is almost none compared with each other two sites. Either way both are pretty easy to get into. Having only the chat for either is also nice, so if one site isn't nice for the device the other one might be. For an easier viewing experience for everyone.
>>320063 My reasoning is that it appears to be the most widely compatible for many people. And it does make sense to have everyone is one location for more memery and funposting. Then it's just a question of which place is more fun.
>>320063 >>320064 It's a pain and a half currently online images can be pasted into cytube chat. The line embeder is over zealous. But overall not terrible, actually pretty good.
>>320064 >Cytube I like Cytube but I can't use it, no matter what browser I use, it causes 100% CPU usage plus a memory leak in my main browser. So, I'm stuck with the crappy Joshwhotv.
>>320093 Just found out through rumors that System1 (data harvesting company) owns the company that owns Waterfox. This may or may not be true. And probably prone to error.
>>320091 Okay, I believe I found a solution. Falkon gave me an average of 35% CPU use Vivaldi and Librewolf around 45% So, Cytube will be my next Movie Night.
>>320098 Yes, I confirm, Waterfox is riddled with spyware, but I use it because of the addons. It is hard and time consuming to migrate to a different browser and get the equivalent addons.
>>320101 >Epic browser I just researched it and I didn't like what I saw. It is the product of a private enterprise and the visible spokeperson is the direct product of American universities, a NO-NO.
>>320162 Speaking of rerun, doing Noita with pony mod (and maybe other mods...) as a preshow again mostly to get a feel for the broadcasting software in different circumstances.
>>320303 Okay planned time is around 5:30 PST (aka 8:30 EST or 7:30 CST) But also someone else that is /mlp/ is planning to do G5 movieZ at 5:00 PST (aka 8:00 EST, 7:00 CST) >>320482 → https://cytu.be/r/mlp I'm going to guess it'll be better quality than what I've got. That said there is always different options available.
So tomorrow too will be the same MovieNight stuff Here always at this link. https://cytu.be/r/OccultFacade Just today forwhatever reason mlp did a showing of thr gen 5 and had to start eaioier which oushed everything else back and stuff. Did a rigging and it kinda worked of sorts. Encoding and videoing stuff has been... all over the place.

So uhhh plesse post more stuff because I forgot a good poner frien being aad hoc snd slapdassh works but then errord pop up snd unexpected circumstance.
Okay folks is there a specific time and place you'd enjoy a philosophy/Über/discussion/meme/whatever/review/debate? Akin to thread below. >>>/ub/1241 →
>>320869 Not limited to only those choices... >B-but, are there debaters? Dunno, I'll give it a shot the only formal experience is the indoctrination system school stuff and that is limited (besides online shitposting) - >So to preface this there's two parts. <First is that philosophy, education, review, whatever sounds like it was/is a fun time. Fun/meaningful times is good. Those things are useful, a way for improvement(s) and enjoyable. <The second is that it suits my purposes. - because I need to do different things and exercise my mind and body more. >blogpost incoming My motivation to do stuff is not there and the solution is to do stuff. Because I actually know what is going on with me (technical term Brain Fog and mental fatigue) so by tossing this out there and seeing if anybody is interested at the moment is a sound choice. If not, that's good too. The times I do have the motivation and effort and those without are both fickle. Durning those periods it's just intellectually doing it (aka Just do It) to do it with some prodding from external sources. Real or imagined. Other times doing anything of effort (real or perceived) doesn't happen (half the time it's me convincing myself it'll be easy, and the other part convincing myself it'll be harder to quit once started. The success of starting has decreased). So basically done writing this, saw your message posted about an hour ago when you posted it's now one hour (maybe more) looking at this doing on the fly editing, rereading, second guessing (with absolute assuredness, because worry has its time and place but not now and not for this), crafting and fucking up. Taking every shortcut that keeps the core and soul of the message before saying fuck it and posting it. I've reread that sentence multiple times in my head when I should be typing and finishing this thing up instead of blathering on and on. Well fuck it time to click new reply because I keep typing amd deleting stuff. [/s[

>>321145 the movie, Over the Hedge, is a fantastic movie. One of the main reasons why is the comic strip writer for the comic "Over the Hedge" was personally involved with the making of the movie from the beginning. The super villian is a flaming female that's head of a homeowners association.
>>321231 All I ask is for a determinable/designated time when the g5 movie will play, Ill do the rest. The MLP movie was better with frens, why should g5 be different? Though, we already know Izzy is best5
>>321265 Tks for the stream. Not just this time either, thanks for taking up the responsibility in general. It can be a bitch sometimes, and assholes can sometimes make it seem less worthwhile. >t. asshole You're a good (you), and thank you for all you do. See ya next time
Line up for Movienight Horror Express 1972 what if nigs noged ate brains on trains! Wait... Tremors 1990 a blast from the past that's rock solid. If there's objections there is Beginning of The End (1957) featuring a deaf mute Pones episodes 16 - 20
>>321685 I saw a video praise Tremors not too long ago. I don't think I've seen the movie itself, but I might have seen one of the sequels at some point. It seems that it has some fantastically effective writing in it. A small bit of a scene that tells us about some characters' schedules, their character, their relationship between each other, their occupation, as well as setting up a Checkov's Gun for later on in the movie.
It might be a 90's B-movie monster movie, but it seems to be really well suited for it. I haven't had anything that fit that niche in a while.
>>320099 What's your CPU? That CPU use sounds absurd to me. Granted, I'm using a Ryzen 7 2700X, but I don't remember CPU use being all that significant in applications.
>>321873 >but I don't remember CPU use being all that significant in applications. It happens only when running the Cytube chat scripts, with Youtube chat is still worst.
Any hores enil eivom dozerKill (1974) Planne 9 from Otter Spaze in color (1959) Hosos season 8 21-26 finishing Season 8 See everyone fhwn on movo neight

Was a good stream. From writing dialogue for the alien ghost thing that possessed a bulldozer to the alien-vampire-zombie stuff to the dose of pony (even if it was the season 8 status quo of ponies, or the colour-themed movie), I had a good time.
For this movie teim King of Zombies (1941) Beginning of The End (1957) Ending of season 8, episodes 25-26 (Attack of the Golly) Beginning of season 9 episodes 1-3 (The Golly Strikes back)
>>323052 Dub episodes? I haven't heard about these. I'm interested in it.
I also think that Austin Powers movies might be worthy of being put on the rotation at some point. Maybe not for this week, but some time in November sounds good.
As always, I'm glad to have this movie night. It's one of the highlights of my week.
Okay so Movie Night features: Interface Part 1 Collection The Undying Monster (Classic 1942) Minor Horror Ponies Collection Episodes 4 through 8 in season 9 Time is the usual or whenever poners show up. 5:30 PST (aka 8:30 EST or 7:30 CST)
Not feelin' too great Going to run the steam this time but I don't think i can make it there to shitpost
(Maybe filler pony moviesto buff out the time?) Interface parr2 PPP redub/shitpost episodes 1 and 2 Fuck if I know low effort movie slot 9 10 11 12 13 pony episodes
Most people come about thirty minutes after or an hour so the new stream will start at 6 PST (aka 9 EST or 8 CST) Might run pony movies before hand Hopefully making a mountain out of a molehill
For Mobue Nought >No hooves?!? The Confusion, The Movie, Part 1, The Game, The Dance, The Bacon, The Experience. EQG Movie 1 POSTAL?!? THE MOVIE! Horse beyond the horizon point. (Only 3 Episodes left after this.)
I'm curious about what episodes we'll be watching tonight. I've been on a different sleep schedule and haven't been able to fully participate in the last month or so of movie nights, so I don't know whether to try to binge watch a bunch of episodes from this season so I'm caught up with the last few episodes we'll watch together. I don't think the show is quite as fun without the peanut gallery.
I also have a small problem in that I don't know which version of the season to download from yayponies. Seriously, why are there so many different versions of the episodes?
>>326019 I had a fantastic time with Postal last week. I even went out of my way to find a couple copies of it and even buy it. I couldn't find the Director's Cut version for purchase, unfortunately. The YouTube version is the director's cut, and it's in 1440p, but I don't know how YT's compression might have screwed with the movie.
>>326824 Well, we could jump into a different MLP stream on Cytube and hang out there, or I could try setting up an account and putting a movie up. I haven't streamed on Cytube, so it might be a while before I get things really up and running.
>>326826 Movie Night, or streams in general have never been designated or assigned, but have had the responsibility taken when the opportunity presented its self. If you can do this, and you want to do this, then you should do this anon. Thats how it has always been. From Anon28, all the way up until OccultFacade.
>>326831 Great! While I'm here, how do I get the stream going and watch it without listening to the audio from the primary playback? When you're streaming, do you watch the original video on your computer and participate in the chat while accepting the 10-15 second lag and just mute the stream video, or do you watch the stream video and somehow mute the source video on your computer?
Movie Night is on despite all odds! >>326836 So better answer is that I watch both. Mostly user side by using mobile fagging (cloudfucks jacked that up for easy fun posting). Or on the site via browser just to check if user side is blowing up. The desktop mute and share is so audio doesn't reverb. But has its own purpose.
Later seasons and episodes are a fever dream. So the only logical option to take is reordering everything, slicing and dicing so stuff actually makes sense. >taking the cream of the crop of the later episodes >splicing scenes and cutting episodes >using stylistic choices made in season 1 and 2 to show a different story by limiting information. >making everything out of context this recontextualizing... Fuck it might as well spend the time making Orginal Content of Original Content Totally Not A Rip-Off continuation.
I'm watching the sopranos for my first time. First season was a real blast. Now I'm hooked. What are your thoughts of the show? Any fans in here?
Crazy to think noone my age even knows this show exists. Well, at least in russia that is. I've asked around. Noone gives a damn. Trully a wasted generation.
>>328169 Been a long time since I saw it so I don't remember much of it. But I remember I saw every Season so I will give it good marks. I should perhaps watch it again since it has been so long since I watched it.
I have retaken command of movie night, and I hereby decree that tonight will be Sherlock Holmes themed. Here are our selections:
The Hound of the Baskervilles (1939) Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes.
The Great Mouse Detective (1986)[b] A bunch of mice larping as Sherlock Holmes.
[b]Horse Segment I haven't been paying close attention since I've been on hiatus, so I'm not sure where you guys are at in the MLP series, or if you've finished it, so for tonight I'm just going to show the 2017 movie, hopefully no one minds.
>>328169 The Sopranos is actually on my short list of the greatest things ever. Usually every couple of years I will do a watch-through of the whole series. There are a couple of episodes I don't care for, but overall it's pretty amazing, highly recommend watching all of it.
>>328184 Hello! \/ >>327603 >>327607 Still here just getting my shit together. Also here if need be too. >>328182 /) Also completed the horse times, wathcing more horseseses with friens is what it's all about.
>>328183 I never saw any of it. It was nowhere close to my cup of tea when it was on TV, and then I just don't remember running into it when my viewing habits transferred over to mostly PC stuff. Glad to have a recommendation for it. I can't promise that I'll watch it quickly, but right now I'm only keeping up with a single show. Aside from that and these movie nights, I don't have any other things that I go out of my way to deliberately watch. Just random stuff on YT and some stuff my friend sends me on bitchute.
Also anyone interested banishing ritual using the Planetary Master Key works really well. Time will tell if that little bit helps in a different circumstance.
>>328183 Season two is comedy gold. Tony's shrimp is visiting her own shrimp after sessions with Tony. I fucking lost my sides. Imagine being this fucked up. Well, can't expect no less from a newly established boss in the de mia family.
I also hate Tony's ma with a passion of one thousand suns. I want to incinerate her with my eyes whenever she appears. Her and Janice both.
The time for films has come once more. Tonight's selections:
Touch of Evil (1958) long tracking shot is loooong
The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (1979) Animated version produced by the BBC.
Hoers Segment For tonight's hoers segment I've decided to show the G1 "End of Flutter Valley" story. I have a bunch of the older gen stuff downloaded but haven't watched any of it, so I felt like now was the time. The episodes are only like 10 min each, so all of them together is like 1:40, so basically a third movie. Let me know what you guys would like to do for hoerstime going forward, we can start FiM again if you want, or we can watch older gens, or we can just the 2017 movie over and over. I leave it entirely up to you.
>>328705 I think you meant to say "shrink" there, but I take your meaning lol.
Good evening everyponer, and Merry Christmas. We have a very festive yuletide program tonight:
A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965) Charlie Brown, of all the horsefuckers in the world, you are the horsefuckiest.
A Garfield Christmas (1987) No room for commies, only lasaga.
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (1964) Rogen and Silverman have been gassed, and order in the North Pole has been restored.
(all three of these are fairly short and should equal the length of about one movie put together)
The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) It's not quite a mop and it's not quite a puppet, but oh man.
And finally for the hoers segement:
A Very Minty Christmas (2005) I've had some pretty minty Christmases in the past, so I hope they're not pulling my leg here. I know literally nothing about this movie beyond that it's a previous generation of MLP, hopefully it will be good.
Program will commence at 5:30 PST as usual. Hope to see you there.
>>329310 >Garfield If you're unfamiliar with Lasagna Cat, I'd like to suggest some of his work for a movie night. Here's one of his best, ngl it remindd me of your shitposting style. If Im being honest, I suspect your Garfield edits may have been inspired ^_~ https://youtu.be/NAh9oLs67Cw
Hey all, turns out I've got some other obligations tonight that I can't get out of, so I'm not going to be able to show any movies. If someone wants to take a crack at streaming tonight they are welcome to, otherwise the regular stream will be back next year, ie next Friday at the usual time.
>>329804 Happy New Year! Found a thing luckily The year without a Santa Claus Rudolph's Shiny New Year Nestor the Long Eared Christmas Donkey Maybe some sort of pone if found https://cytu.be/r/OccultFacade
I'm running a bit late tonight but movies are still on. We might be starting slightly later than usual though.
Tonight's Selections:
Sorcerer (1977) The only thing I actually know about this movie is that Tangerine Dream did the soundtrack, but I've had it for awhile and have been meaning to watch it.
October Sky (1999) Kind of like Hidden Figures, except it's about white people who know about rockets and stuff.
My Little Pony The Movie (2017) I don't have a horse segment prepared so we will just watch the movie again, I assume no one objects.
We should hopefully be ready to go at the usual time, 5:30 PST. At the absolute latest we will start around 5:45.
1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992) Was suggested last week, as I recall. The timeless tale of based Christopher Columbus' victory over the savage people of India.
Hoers Segment: For tonight's horse segment, we will be showing G1, episodes 11-19 (the episodes are only like 10 min apiece). This covers: - The Ghost of Paradise Estate, parts 1-4 - The Great Rainbow Caper - The Glass Princess, parts 1-4
Show will commence at 5:30 PST as usual. Hope to see you all there.
>>331546 oh fuck, I meant to look into that. Not sure how it works so probably not tonight, but I will see if I can figure it out for next week. Tonight will just be JoshWho as usual.
>>331547 You need to make an account (no email necessary) Make a new channel After you make a channel, navigate to it as seen in the screenshot All your settings to stream to will be there. >RTMP Ingests: rtmp://www.pon3.stream/stream/ and right above that will be your key Don't forget to make sure chat is enabled and you need to click 'save settings' if any changes are made, save button is at the very bottom of the page
Evening, faggots. Tonight we have a very special program for you. Actually, it's pretty much the same kind of program we always have, but we will be trying out the new pon3.stream service. I just tested it and it seems to work well enough, so hopefully we won't have any troubles.
Anyway, here are tonight's feature films:
Batman (1989) It's not quite a man, and it's not quite a bat, but oh man...
Fight Club (1999) It's not quite a fight, and it's not quite a club, but oh man...
Ponies Continuing with G1 until someone complains about it. Tonight we have: - The Return of Tambelon (parts 1-4) - Little Piece of Magic - The Magic Coins (parts 1-4)
Program will commence at the usual time, 5:30 PST, or approximately 1.5 hours hence. Hope to see you all there.
Room is now open and streaming. I think everything should be set up correctly but let me know if anyone has any trouble viewing the stream or getting into chat.
Alright, I watched fight club and something was bothering me about soap->bombs transition. Movie skipping over the main part of the process and pretending like it is easy. As I said before, no need to harvest glycerin when you can just buy it https://www.bulkapothecary.com/raw-ingredients/other-ingredients-and-chemicals/glycerin/ Glycerin made "the soap way" is you mix the soap with water so its rather thick soapy liquid, add salt, scoop out the curds, and finish boiling off the water. Glycerin will be whats left. Glycerin is cheap and very inert, not a single explosive cell in glycerin. Then how do you go from glycerine to nitroglycerin? It needs to go through a nitrating process, typically with nitric acid. Nitric acid is... difficult to get without lots of sets of eyes focusing on you. It is possible to make nitric acid with sulfuric acid, but that's a whole other layer of complexity that I understand is rather explosive/dangerous in its self. Glycerin is not the only chemical that can go through the nitrating process for an explosive either. Almost all modern explosives need this actually. C4 "plastic" explosives, modern smokeless powder, gun cotton (literally just cotton nitrated), and probably a lot of other things.
I hope this clears up the shitty hollywood induced perceptions on the matter.
Les Ordres (1974) A subtitled French Canadian film dealing with the 1970 October Crisis in Quebec, which apparently had something to do with Quebecois independence. I know absolutely nothing about either this film or the event that it's based on, but it seems to be pretty highly regarded. I wanted to show something Canadian in honor of the Freedom Truck protests, but the only movies about Canada I could find were this and a 1995 Michael Moore film called Canadian Bacon, that was apparently so awful even lefty critics panned it. I suspect this will prove to be the better choice. I am really hoping this one finishes downloading 100% legally acquiring itself in time, otherwise there may have to be some last-minute changes to the program. Apologies in advance if this happens.
The Little Mermaid (1989) I was originally going to show a different animated film, but >>332913 convinced me that this would be the way to go. I literally have not seen or thought about this movie since second grade. Should be fun to watch again.
Horse Segment There is a point where we need to stop showing G1 episodes and we have clearly passed it, but let's keep going and see what happens. Tonight, we have: - Mish Mash Melee - Woe is Me (parts 1 & 2) - Fugitive Flower (parts 1 & 2) - Would Be Dragonslayer - Baby It's Cold Outside (Parts 1& 2)
>>333170 Foot fetishes are common because the parts of the brain for pleasure and feet are right next to each other. Plus humans hide their feet almost constantly and expose themselves to breasts and ass almost constantly, so seeing a glimpse of feet feels more unusual than catching a glimpse of tits.
Alrighty folks, it's that time again. Tonight's theme is: movies that are heavily memed, but that you probably haven't actually sat down and watched in a really long time. In that spirit, we have:
The Matrix (1999) It's like Neuromancer, if it were made by trannies.
American Psycho (2000) It's like Psycho, if it were made by an American Hitchcock was British, look it up.
Horses from the 1980s that are too small to be ridden by a regular-sized person, but you could probably still have sex with them if you wanted to - Crunch the Rock Dog (parts 1 & 2) - The Revolt of Paradise Estates (parts 1 & 2) - Through the Door (parts 1 & 2) - Rescue from Midnight Castle (parts 1 & 2)
>>333875 If you want to handle the pre-stream that would be fine, it would give me a bit of extra time to set everything up plus get food and whatnot.
Anyway, show will commence as usual at 5:30 PST, or about 1 hr + 15 min from now. Sounds like leafanon will be handling the pre-show, so there will not be the usual music hangout beforehand, but I will open the room probably 10 min or so before showtime.
>>333880 The only way I've got CyTube set up right now is for YT links. I'm still trying to re-learn how to stream my computer's video files to JoshWho for the more compatible chat experience. It's JoshWho that was better than CyTube for chat participation, right?
>>333885 Thanks for the help it solved all my problems and you did a good preshow. >>333879 Thank you for fun mobies. And thank you everyone lots of fun posting.
So, what time do we want to start the pre-stream tonight? Does cytube link sharing sound better, or should I grab a pon3 stream account to stream some of my offline pony content?
King Kong (1933) Predicted the 2020 BLM riots with an eerie level of accuracy. Supposedly, this was one of Hitler's favorite movies.
The Great Gatsby (1974) Predicted the 2013 remake of The Great Gatsby with an eerie level of accuracy.
Retro-Horess - The Quest of the Princess Ponies (parts 1-4) - Spike's Search - The Golden Horseshoes (parts 1 & 2) - The Flight to Cloud Castle (parts 1 & 2)
Program will commence at 5:30 PST as usual, or approximately 1h 20 min from now. It looks as though Canada anon will once again be handling the pre-stream, so my room will open roughly 5-10 min before showtime. Hope to see you all there.
>>334724 about an hour before showtime is usually the standard pre-show length, but it's up to you.
Sorry about the late notice, but movies are still on for tonight. I'm in a bit of a rush, so we're just watching what I have handy.
Casino (1995)
Fantasia 2000 (2000)
1980s Horse Tonight we finish up the last few episodes of the G1 series: - The Ice Cream Wars - Somnambula (parts 1 & 2) - The Prince and the Ponies - Escape from Catrina (parts 1 & 2)
Not sure if Flappy wants to do his preshow again, but either way we will begin at 5:30 PST. Room will probably open 10-15 minutes before then.
My current plan is to start the pre-stream in about 35 minutes, to get about an hour of shenanigans in before the stream proper starts. If I screw around and get the pon3.stream room working properly, then we might have some more options for stuff other than YT links for music and the occasional short video.
Every time I think about the YT links I keep getting ticked off at the various algorithm changes that made it so that shorter high-effort content like animations and sketch videos were demoted relative to mass-produced, high volume, low-effort content like podcasts, let's plays of flavour-of-the-week games, and movie reviews. So much of what made internet content good was deliberately burned down. To say nothing of the robot-perpetrated purge of any content that they thought was "targeted" at younger users, making so many pony videos impossible to search for or add to playlists. Discoverability and interactability for MLP videos was all but wiped out unless you were subscribed to someone who made a continuous stream of pony content.
I can stream video to the stream, but not the audio. I'm using Streamlabs OBS Desktop. I'm using Window Capture to stream only MPC-HC, and I've got the volume in the window on, but the volume for the window turned off in my audio mixer. Any tips on getting the audio through? Worst case scenario, we'll have to go to CyTube and deal with YT links only again this week.
I was hoping to do a watchthrough of Turnabout Storm or other fandom videos at some point.
>>337076 >>337077 So sound for the Desktop is on and playing, but playback through your computer speakers is off. I think you right click the sound stuff to open that menu option
>>337078 I want to have the video an audio captured directly from the Media Player window.
The problem seems to be that my media player wants to send it's audio through my System Default speakers instead of the software speakers that I can point Streamlabs' Desktop Audio recording to.
I still hear the media player playing through my headphones when I have it not muted in my Volume Mixer.
Fuck it. For now, we'll use the CyTube room. I'll open things up for people to post their own YT links, so get your videos queued up.
>>337081 That's what I've been doing for the past ten minutes, but it's still... Jesus fucking Christ on a bicycle. I had to restart the program after doing that.
>>337079 Not sure if this is the specific problem you're having, but OBS won't let you hear the sound of anything that's playing. If you look in the audio mixer panel it should have a bar with the file name, and if it the bar is doing stuff then audio is going through even though you can't hear it. If you start streaming and then open the stream window on your browser and hear audio it means everything is streaming correctly. Also, in the audio mixer panel on OBS you'll want to have Desktop Audio turned all the way down or you'll get feedback. This confused me for awhile when I was first using OBS as well.
Also, here are tonight's movie selections:
Fargo (1996) Based on a made-up true story.
Anastasia (1997) There was a rumor on 4chan that Disney+ was pulling this movie because of the Russia-Ukraine business, but it turned out to have been bullshit. It was pulled, but it was some kind of contractual thing that had nothing to do with the war. However, it's a fun movie so I'm showing it anyway.
Hoers Since G1 is concluded, we'll be watching the first four eps of Friendship is Magic.
Show will commence at 5:30 pst, with a possible preshow by FlappyPterodactyl.
>>337985 I think the issues from the last 15 minutes of my pre-stream and the beginning of the movie stream came from using up a lot of pon3-stream's resources. The RAM or something. It was some sort of an issue on one of the other streaming sites we used to use. I don't remember whether the other site with the occasional problem was JoshTube or not.
I've had a small plan in my head where we'd watch an episode, but preceded by one of TheeLinker's trailers and followed by a Totally Accurate Recap of the episode. Just grouping up a lot of the episode-specific content into one sequence of videos.
>>337986 I suspect most of the stream problems we've had have been on pon3's side and not on mine or yours. I remember back when we were using Bitwave we'd run into similar problems. Both of these services as far as I'm aware are relatively small operations run by anons, so they probably have limited resources. When a ton of people are using it at once those resources are probably taxed and you run into problems. JoshWho seems like a larger operation so they don't have those kinds of issues. Smaller anon-run services are likely safer to use and are worth supporting, but the tradeoff is that they don't have the same resources you'd get with a larger and more professionally-run system.
I think we should continue to use pon3, but it's probably worth keeping JoshWho as a backup for nights when pon3 is having issues.
A Farewell to Arms (1932) The film that inspired Ernest Hemingway's popular novel The Diary of Anne Frank.
All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989) Rumor has it Don Bluth wrote this film after his child asked him an uncomfortable question about what happens to hot dogs when you finish eating them.
Hoers Continuing with eps 5-8 of FiM.
Show will commence at 5:30 pst, with pre-stream by FlappyPterodactyl starting whenever.
Slowly but surely, I 've watched all the way to half of season 4 of the sopranos. It's based that tony likes a horse. Horse is indeed a beautiful creature. And ralphy is obviously a barneyfag. The series have gotten way darker compared to the first season (like when ralphie dissed the bing, it was gruesome to say the least) but I think it's fitting. It's almost as if the good days are all gone and tony is inches away from closing in on his eventual downfall.
>>338276 Start it up again? I don't think we really stopped. Not for any significant length of time. As for whether we still do this, just look at the post dates in the thread. Things are proceeding as normal, and we're even doing a pre-stream for about an hour in CyTube now, with plenty of space for people to post pony-related video links to watch.
>>338769 >I'm assuming Flappy will probably be doing the prestream again. Yep, I'm getting the playlist ready now. Aiming for it to be about an hour long.
Come on over to the Pre-Stream. I've queued up some music in between some live-action skit videos, short animations, and we'll finish the pre-stream with Rainbow Dash Presents: Bittersweet.
If you have other video links you want to suggest, post them in the chat and I'll manually add them. Someone apparently wandered into my room and queued up a ton of odd videos while I was away.
>>338788 >be kid >parents kinda suck >travel through time with dwarves >get adopted by agememnon >in line for the throne >lol nope >fight the devil >house burned down >family killed >homeless orphan >also a brit
>>338787 >>338788 >>338789 Time Bandits was fucking great, even if the ending was awful for the poor kid. Being drunk while watching was certainly a trip and a half. Y'all have a good night and enjoy the next two movies. In the meantime I'll be peeing in a two liter coke bottle while drinking way too much liquor and playing Slay the Spire.
>>338796 I think I know a bit more about why that movie was unsatisfying. The only thing that changed for the neighborhood was that a power vacuum was created. The black gangs are going to move in now uncontested.
>>338893 The ending to the movie was unsatisfying from a macro perspective because the greater problem of neighborhood decay was never solved. This is by design; the film doesn't attempt to resolve this problem because the actions required to resolve it are outside the scope of the story. It's beyond the protagonist's power to fix the things that have ruined (and will continue to ruin) his neighborhood. So, while it might have been more superficially satisfying to have him go on some kind of crazy violent rampage and drive all the undesirables out of his neighborhood, and end the film with young white families moving back in, it would be unrealistic, and would detract from what the film is ultimately supposed to be about.
The story centers around Clint Eastwood's character, with the decaying city of (I think) Detroit as a backdrop. He represents a lost American ideal: the strong, tough, self-reliant man who solves his own problems and takes pride in his work. The world around him has completely moved on from this: his neighborhood has been taken over by gooks and blacks and whatever else, the Ford factory he used to work at is long gone, his kids don't understand his way of life and he's estranged from them, and so forth. Despite this, he holds to his way of life and continues to exist as he always has, even though it's a futile action; you see this reflected in the way his gook neighbor is constantly berating him for refusing to leave the neighborhood, like all the other white people did.
The Gran Torino itself is majorly symbolic. It represents America's past, the world that Clint Eastwood's character comes from and ultimately belongs to, as well as the character himself. It's not just something he owns, it's something he helped create and took pride in creating. It's also a tangible object that can be passed down, and, since it's established fairly early on that his character is going to die soon one way or the other, there is both a symbolic and a practical question of what to do with it. The car is a legacy that can be passed down, but he has no one to pass it to. The only person connected to him who seems especially interested is his thot granddaughter, who just likes it because it's a neat car and is obviously unworthy of what it represents. His sons are not interested in it at all, and would probably either sell it or give it to the worthless granddaughter.
Eastwood is the living embodiment of Evola's lost warrior in Men Among the Ruins: the lone soldier without an army or a cause to follow, adrift in a new world whose ideals are alien to him. The gook autist, meanwhile, is Nietzsche's Last Man: he's weak and spineless, completely lacking an identity or even the desire to have an identity. He's a foreigner living in the cultural void of nu-America, with no meaningful connection either to the America that Eastwood knows, or even to the Hmong culture that he comes from.
Like the Gran Torino, Eastwood's friendship with this kid has multiple meanings. The average normie take on it would probably be that it reflect's Eastwood's coming to terms with the multiculturalism of nu-America: he is finally able to put the past behind him, soften his racist views somewhat, and accept that the world has moved on from the one he used to live in. There's admittedly something to this: Eastwood's experiences in the Korean War obviously weigh on him quite heavily, and finding some common ground with his Hmong neighbors allows him to put some of this to rest. However, there's a lot more to it.
As mentioned above, Eastwood's character is estranged from his children. His two sons and their families belong spiritually to nu-America, and have no frame of reference for understanding Eastwood's worldview. They see him as a stubborn, cranky old man who is difficult to get along with, they don't understand why he rags on them for driving foreign cars and allowing their daughters to dress like sluts, and so forth and so on. Not only are they unworthy to inherit Eastwood's legacy, they have no use for it; they belong completely to nu-America. Eastwood understands this, and that is the basis of his conflict with them. However, they're also his sons, and he is connected to them emotionally if not spiritually. His inability to connect with his sons is another part of his personal baggage. Once he finds out he has cancer or whatever, he attempts to call them and make amends, but they're never able to establish enough common ground to form a meaningful relationship.
Eastwood's character is able to become a father figure to the gook autist in a way that he was never able to with his own sons. Moreover, his own sons belong spiritually to nu-America, and thus have no use for anything Eastwood could have taught them. However, the gook does not belong to any world; he's a spiritual non-entity. On some level he and Eastwood are similar in that they are both wanderers in a world to which they don't belong; however, Eastwood possesses the virility of the world to which he does belong, while the gook autist has nothing he can orient himself to. In adopting him as a symbolic son, Eastwood is able to pass on this virility to a new generation, instead of having it die with him.
Ultimately, the film's conflict revolves around one particular group of gangsters and you're right, the overall macro problem doesn't change. Once these gangsters are gone, some new ones will move in and the neighborhood will still be shit. The world continues to degenerate for multiple complex reasons beyond the control of any of the film's characters. Old America is gone and it's probably not coming back. The point is that even as that world dies, the virile spirit that gave life to it is being passed on, albeit in a different external form than its previous incarnation. That's my take on it, anyway.
I actually have another movie that relates somewhat to all of this, I might show it in a couple of weeks.
Very solid review, Mr. Football. At the risk of flattery, it's not far off from a Counter-Currents review in terms of quality.
The movie is effective precisely because it's so realistic, and describes a situation that is sadly prevalent all across the country (though it has an element of the heroic which is difficult to find in the real world). It probably was a way for Clint Eastwood to describe his feelings on race (including the ability to use slurs) without overtly appearing "racist." How is it possible to have hope when your own flesh and blood has not only fled the area but has degenerated in character? The ending is bittersweet, not just in the matter of fates of the characters but in terms of themes.
Besides the Evolan characteristics of the movie it's purple-pilled. Eastwood raises a foster-son and molds him from being a cretin to having aspects of masculine virtue, and that's based. However, one also gets the impression of a "white savior" complex, that replacement is inevitable so might as well get your replacers to be as worthy successors as possible. Mixed feelings are natural for those who are knowledgable about this issue, and it makes the movie all the more poignant. It's a direct look into the mindset, regrets and dreams of the conservative Boomer (I'm aware Eastwood is playing a Silent in the film) and the passing away of America.
It may be worth comparing it to Rambo: Last Blood which has similar themes but is darker in tone and more violent. After readings its review on Counter-Currents it may be worth watching, as it's particularly hated by the mainstream press.
Both "invincible" and "turning red" deal with a heavy subject of sacrificing the most sacred part of self, integrity, to be under a prospect of a parent. And whereas the first condemns it through showing the destruction unleashed to the world that reveals the weakness buried within, the latter fills it with furries shaking their bums.
Does the movie deserve the hate from the critics? In the applicable ammounts, yes. It's fair to point out what works in the movie and what does not. It works on a level of a medium budget cash-grab. But you can't possibly compare it with pixar's most beloved standalone hits, like WALL-E or Monster's inc. Disney is shoving their pride in the mud by bringing the most admired cartoon factory to this supbar criteria. Good riddance is all I can say.
Music is ongoing. I'll be queueing up RD Presents' My Little Dashie if more people come in, otherwise it'll just be more music and some Totally Legit Recap episodes until movie time.
>>339605 Was all that bizarre slang supposed to be because it was a stupid future setting, or was it just because they were British? I was genuinely unsure when I was watching the movie, but now I'm thinking it's supposed to represent the future.
>>339863 Imagine living in the mid-twentieth century and imagine people using terms like "bussy", "sus", and "YOLO". It would seem pretty degenerate, which I think is the point.
I have decided that we will start a watch-through of Turnabout Storm. As all the episodes after the first are over an hour long and the last part is two and a half hours long, I hereby request that we consider including a Turnabout Storm section in the movie night stream proper.
Here's the playlist on YT that I'm looking at: https://www.youtube.com/ playlist?list=PL347AD9B9E509804A
I'd shove the PONY.MOV series in, but the story was split with at least one AskBlog on that tumbling blog site that spent a lot of effort to kill itself over the years for some reason. I don't know how much of the story is missing from the animations, but I know there are at least two major plot points. I also don't remember if there were any other story sources for that story.
The playlist is made. If Turnabout Storm is a complete no-go, then I can see about replacing that 35 minute runtime with something else.
Hey all, sorry about the late notice on movies. My sleeping schedule has been ridiculous for the past few days.
I have a couple of movies ready to go, but it sounds like you guys are watching something already. I'm not sure what Turnabout Storm is or how long it is, but once it concludes we can see what time it is and probably watch a movie + some more Japanese pony episodes. Since today's the anniversary (as well as April Fool's Day), the movie selections can remain a surprise until showtime.
You can see in the second image of >>340239 that most of the episodes of Turnabout Storm are over an hour. With the padding music and another pony animation for variety, this week's Pre-Stream playlist is about 1 hour 40 minutes.
How do you want to work that in to the movie night? I'd like to have the pre-stream push back the movie start time, but I don't know how many people go to the movie stream link directly instead of visiting this thread first.
It's a movie about a writer. I'm less than four minutes in to it and the MC has already tossed a dog down a trash chute to stop it from pissing in an apartment hallway and talked about "that coloured man I've seen in the hallways".
It's also the movie with that scene where the woman talks to the writer to ask how he writes women so well, and he replies "I think of a man, and take away reason and accountability".
Seems good so far. I have it on Amazon Prime Video. 2h 18m, from 1997.
If we want to keep a Jack Nicholson theme, then maybe it could be paired with Anger Management. It's been a long time since I saw that movie, but I remember it being fun. I think Adam Sandler is in it, too.
>>340978 If you want to let the pre-stream run long I don't object, but some people were complaining about the movies running long, since some people are in different time zones and have to get up early on Saturday morning. It might make more sense to just start the pre-stream earlier, but either way I'm okay with it.
>>340993 >As Good as it Gets Oddly enough I've been thinking of showing this movie for awhile now. I can probably throw it on the list for tomorrow. Or today, technically.
Alrighty folks, it's that time again. For tonight's selections, we have:
As Good as it Gets (1997) Lonely romance writer attempts to incinerate his neighbor's dog, hilarious mishaps ensue.
The Departed (2006) Lonely glownigger attempts to infiltrate an Irish gang, hilarious mishaps ensue.
マイリトルポニー~トモダチは魔法~ Cute little ponies speak in moon runes, adorable mishaps ensue.
I'm assuming we'll be starting around the same time as usual, possibly a little later depending on when Flappy decides to start his pre-show. Show will tentatively commence around 5:30 PST, or thereabouts.
>>341141 Thank you for the stream! The Departed has a surprisingly traditionalist streak in it. Both the protagonist and the antagonist were concerned with their reputation more than death itself at the end. That caught me by surprise at the end, how one wanted to expose the truth with little regard to living and the other wanted to conceal the truth more than stay alive. That's not something you see often in Western movies nowadays.
The Pre-stream will start at 6pm EST this week instead of the normal 7pm EST start time. This will accommodate the longer runtime of the Turnabout Storm episodes.
Pre-Stream is a go. I'll start the playlist when people begin to arrive. As usual, the playlist will start with 10-15 minutes of music to account for any latecomers.
No-one's in the room yet. If things go too long, I might have to cut this week's episode of Turnabout Storm for time and just have a bunch of music and MLP vids.
I think starting an hour earlier than usual might have been an issue. Would people be able to make that time next week, or was the issue this week the fact that I dropped the start time in the thread yesterday? I mentioned it in the stream chatroom last week, but that's not exactly a place where people re-read what was talked about.
>>341835 I just noticed this post, I was just getting movies together and then I was going to hop in. I think people might not have noticed the open room yet, usually movie night stuff doesn't start until a little later.
>>341836 >usually movie night stuff doesn't start until a little later. Yeah, but people said they wanted an earlier start to the pre-stream when I started the poll last week.
Co-ordinating start times across all these timezones is tricky stuff.
Movie time once again, here are tonight's selections:
Heavy Metal (1981) A story about rock music and large cartoon boobs, and probably some other stuff as well. Delightful 1980s silliness.
Heavy Metal 2000 (2000) Pretty much the same thing, but 20 years later.
マイリトルポニー~トモダチは魔法~ LUCKY PONY SLUTTO
Movies will commence after Flappy's preshow, at approximately 5:30 PST. See above posts and ongoing discussion for preshow start times.
>>341837 I can sympathize, coordinating timezones has been a major headache since I started doing this. Anyway, we can probably start the preshow, hopefully people will see that the thread has been bumped.
Next week, the pre-stream will start at the normal time (7pm EST) instead of one hour earlier like this week (6pm EST). The first movie of Movie Night will be the Turnabout Storm episode of the week, since they're pretty much the length of a movie anyway. There are 3 episodes left. See >>340239 for details.
Pre-streams will consist of music and shorter animations. I'm thinking of leaning into the PONY.MOV series for next week.
We were talking about The Ten Commandments on the Easter stream and apparently it is ranked as the tenth best epic film of all time. #1 is Lawrence of Arabia which I've never seen. The oldest on that list is All Quiet on the Western Front which I've also never seen.
>>341853 Hey, Elway, regarding the first movie of this week being the Turnabout Storm episode, are you all set up for that? Do you have your own offline copy of it to show on the normal movie stream link, or do you know that you're going to use CyTube for the Turnabout Storm movie?
If you need to rip the movie from YouTube, then some ripping tools might take a while to convert it, or they might be throttled.
Just checking in and making sure that things are set up.
I have the pre-stream stuff ready to go. We will have music, music videos, an old fan animation that I found when I was poking through some archives (which even has a trailer made for it!), a short album, and some PONY.MOV videos.
The Pre-Stream will start at 7pm EST, or basically now. I'll start the music and stuff once people start filtering in to the room.
Playlist in the post. I have no idea what's messing with my screencap. If anyone knows how to export a playlist into a readable format that includes things like the video length and the thumbnail, let me know.
>>342678 I think I might have misunderstood what we agreed last week. My assumption was that you were going to be showing the Turnabout Storm stuff on your stream as you've been doing, and I would just be streaming a single movie plus pony episodes. The Turnabout Storm episode you'd be showing would take the place of one of my movies, so my stream would thus start about 1.5 hours later than usual. Unfortunately I don't have any of the Turnabout Storm episodes saved anywhere.
My plan was to just show Lawrence of Arabia since that was one of the requests listed and then some more Japanese pony episodes. Is that not what we're doing?
My concern was that some people might have your regular stream room bookmarked and just got used to going to that stream room without going to this thread first to see what's going on.
No worries. I just woke up a bit later than usual today because I was assuming I didn't have to start the stream until later. I will just plan on starting Lawrence whenever Turnabout wraps up.
Also, everyone, tonight's selections will be:
Lawrence of Arabia (1962)
マイリトルポニー~トモダチは魔法~ LUCKY PONY SLUTTO
Stream will commence after Flappy's show, probably around 7-7:30 PST, which I think is about 10 EST.
...Aaand that's the end of the Pre-Stream and Turnabout Storm episode for this week. I've got an early day tomorrow, so with time zone stuff, I'll be turning in now.
Talk to you next week. Have a good time with Lawrence of Arabia.
Waco: The Rules of Engagement. I was told that this movie is about three letter people, and will be an education that will tell people why they should hate them.
The Northman. A viking movie. From what little I've heard, there were some Leftists who were upset that this movie didn't show enough black people in viking times. I know nothing else about this.
>>342784 >>343043 Going with Picnic at Hanging Rock this week since that was suggested first. Also, apologies about the long run time last week, I forgot that Lawrence of Arabia is like four hours long. Picnic at Hanging rock is about 1:50 so this week it should work a little better.
>>343181 >Going with Picnic at Hanging Rock this week since that was suggested first. Oh, I'm in no rush. I just thought they might be good fits to go somewhere on the movie list at some point. I was slightly unsure whether Waco was a good fit, since I understand it's more of a documentary that's supposed to make people angry rather than a fun movie..
I'm getting the playlist for tonight set up right now, so here's hoping this early post will get people in earlier than last week.
The Pre-Stream will start at 7pm EST, or approximately 45 minutes from this post.
As noted above, tonight's movie selection will be:
Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975)
Along with another four episodes of Lucky Pony Slutto. Show will commence as soon as Flappy's stream wraps up, probably about 7 PST (10 EST). Since this movie has a more normal run time, we shouldn't have any issues with ending late this week.
The Pre-Stream will start with music as usual. I have music, animations, and the next couple bits of PONY.MOV (finale next week!). The Pre-Stream will be an hour(-ish). After the Pre-Stream, we'll move into watching the next part of Turnabout Storm, then it'll be time to move to the movie stream room to watch Picnic at Hanging Rock.
Pre-Stream will start when I have 2 guests in the room.
This week's Turnabout Storm episode is two hours and thirty-four minutes. I tested SWAG.MOV in my cytube room when I was the only person inside it, and it seems to play just fine without any age restrictions on it. I put that "The God of Ponies" animation in the playlist this week.
Aside from these major animations, I have a few minor animations scattered in here and mixed with the music.
The total playlist length, including the Turnabout Storm Episode, which will count as the first of the two movies of the night, is currently set at three and a half hours. That fits into the regular one hour of pre-stream, plus one movie.
I'll have the tab open, and will be able to respond and make any needed changes before 7pm EST.
Since Turnabout Storm has wrapped up, I'm assuming this week we will be resuming our usual format. So, unless I hear otherwise, I will plan on showing two movies starting at 5:30 PST/ 8:30 EST, with Flappy doing his thing in the before-space. Schedule will be announced shortly.
Regular format it is. If we're going to go for the Pony Anthologies, most of those are over an hour long, so we'd be going back to the one-movie format.
Excuse the lateness. I had some stuff after work come up, and I still need to go for a wash before I can attend the pre-stream. I have a playlist mostly put together, I just have to remove a few entries, and then I'll post the link.
The stream is rolling along! I'll be AFK for a while, though. Please address any complaints to whomever seems to have seniority in the chatroom. It won't help anything, but it'll be funny.
As discussed last week, we'll have the pre-stream, then we'll watch the Pony Anthology series. I think we saw Pony Anthology 1 a month or two ago, so this stream will have Pony Anthology 2. These Anthologies will be like the Turnabout Storm in that they will take up the first movie slot of the night.
The Pre-Stream playlist is set up. It'll be the pre-stream stuff, and then I'll add the Pony Anthology 3 from the archive link like last week. We've got a couple of themed sections in the pre-stream. Delta Vee's Junkyard series, a couple of Spitfire related videos, and a collection of alicorn electro swing songs to wrap up the pre-stream before the Anthology.
O Brother Where Art Thou? Last week we did Hamlet, this week we do The Odyssey. We wuz classy Westerners an sheeit.
マイリトルポニー~トモダチは魔法~ Last four episodes of S2 tonight, and then we are sadly done with Lucky Pony Slutto. However, I have the Nip dub of the 2017 movie, which we will do next week.
Show will begin whenever Flappy's stream concludes, probably around 6:30 PST / 9:30 EST.
It's that time again. Our film for this evening shall be:
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (1990) Suggested by Pupper. Much like Gibbon's Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, the title sort of gives away the ending, but we can still pretend to be surpised.
As to the horse feature, I have bad news and good news. The bad news is that, alas, we have run out of officially dubbed Moon Rune pones. However, the first bit of good news is that we still have the official dub of the 2017 movie, which we will be watching tonight. The second bit of good news is that apparently, the Disney Channel produced a Japanese overdub for S3 and S4. YayPonies has versions of these episodes, which are basically just the iTunes rips of the episodes with the Japanese audio substituted for English. However, they are unsubbed. If I can find subs for them by next week, we will continue with Moon Rune ponies (though sadly, they will no longer feature the anime-style openings or the Lucky Pony Slutto segments). If I can't, then I will figure out something else horse-related for next week (worst case scenario we just go back to watching the show in English).
I'm assuming Flappy will be doing his usual pre-stream show, so the movie will commence as soon as his stream wraps up; usually around 6:30 PST / 9:30 EST.
I'd say I'm changing up the format of the pre-stream night by a bit, but I'm really just fucking around. There's all 7 parts of a 6 part animatic series in here, one 14-minute gaming pony animation thing that I watched 15 seconds of to check for animation and audio quality, and some small non-pony stuff because I thought it was funny.
That makes for much less music than usual.
The Pony of the Week is going to by Lyra, to complement this whimsy and deliberate chicanery.
Alright there, folks, you know what time it is! The stream will start with the first couple of arrivals. The first couple of videos are 30 seconds to a minute long, so get there quick so you can get the whole pre-stream experience!
Sounds like we may be getting a late start tonight. This evening's film will be:
Paper Moon (1973)
Followed by:
Moon Rune Pones (2013) Found subs for S3, so we will continue with S3 of the Nippones.
Show will commence whenever Flappy's stream wraps up.
>>345602 I never noticed this before, but if you rotate Pic 1 on its side, Lyra's tail looks like she is shitting rocket fuel and launching herself into space.
Pre-Stream is ready to go! We'll kick things off when people arrive, which I assume will be soon.
I decided to skip spending the time to prune the list, so given the late start time, we may be skipping this week's Anthology, depending on audience feedback.
Pre-stream may be a bit different this week, as I'm much drunkjer than usual. I made the playlist on an earlier day, at least. Gotta sober up and look at it with clear eyes, right?
Poney of the week is declared to be Octavia. I just picked her to be at the end of my folder, so I know what other images I can send to the thread. during the event.
I'll start up the room soon, and start the actual stream with the first guest proper.
Hey all, just letting you know that I'm going to be otherwise occupied tonight and won't be able to show a movie. Sorry. Our regularly scheduled program will continue next week.
>>346663 For an encore at the end of the movie or between movies, how about a short silent film of "Our Gang"? Derby Day is pretty good, Dogs of War but the first is hoers-themed.
Oh, as it's Canada Day, I'll be out celebrating it with some friends. If someone else wants to take over the pre-stream tonight, that would be great.
I just make a YT playlist of pony content that's about an hour long, and plug that into my CyTube room, adding the whole playlist at once. It's probably easiest if you have your own CyTube account, but if someone really doesn't want to use their own CyTube room, I can look in to adding them as an Admin or Moderator of my room for this week. I don't know exactly how those features work, but all we need is the ability for one person to add a playlist of their stuff to the room.
Since it sounds like Flappy will be out celebrating some made-up Canadian holiday, there may or may not be a pre-show this week. As such, start time tonight will be a little ambiguous. We'll see what things look like once it gets closer to our usual start time.
As to my segment of the night's entertainment, I've decided that I like the idea proposed by >>346751 . I found a collection of the old Our Gang shorts, and I also have a collection of the old Merrie Melodies/Looney Tunes cartoons. I've decided it would be fun to do movie night the way movie theaters used to, with a short cartoon and a serial shown before the movie itself. The shorts are roughly 25 min each, and the cartoons are usually about 5 min, so this shouldn't seriously impact our overall runtime. We'll try it this week, and if people like it we'll keep doing it.
Anyway, here is the program for tonight:
Looney Tunes: Congo Jazz (1930)
Our Gang: Small Talk (1929)
Gods and Generals (part 1 of 3) (2003) This is one I've been wanting to show for awhile now, but have been hesitant due to the fact that it's unironically like six hours long. The version I have is split into three separate files, and each file is about 1.5 hours long, or in other words the length of an ordinary movie. So, I've decided to show it in parts. We'll watch the first hour and a half this week, followed by the second hour and a half next week, and so on in that fashion, until the third and final hour and a half, which will be shown on the third week.
I've never actually seen this movie and can't vouch for its overall quality, but some things I've heard about it make me feel like it will be a good time investment; namely that it was universally panned by critics and compared unfavorably to the same director's other civil war movie, Gettysburg (1993). The reason for this had less to do with the film's overall quality and more to do with its sympathetic portrayal of the South:
>Gods and Generals is widely viewed as championing the Lost Cause ideology by creating a presentation more favorable to the Confederacy.[10][11] Writing in The Journal of American History, historian Steven E. Woodworth derided the movie as a modern-day telling of Lost Cause mythology.[10] Woodworth called the movie "the most pro-Confederate film since Birth of a Nation, a veritable celluloid celebration of slavery and treason." He summed up his reasons for disliking the movie by saying: >Gods and Generals brings to the big screen the major themes of Lost Cause mythology that professional historians have been working for half a century to combat. In the world of Gods and Generals, slavery has nothing to do with the Confederate cause. Instead, the Confederates are nobly fighting for, rather than against, freedom, as viewers are reminded again and again by one white southern character after another.[10]
So, in summation, this feels like a good selection for July 4 (or thereabouts).
Anyway, we will follow this up with our usual screening of Nipponese pony episodes. Since there are only five episodes left in S3 and we (probably) won't have a pre-stream this week, I was thinking of just showing all five.
Unless someone volunteers for a pre-show, I'm going to tentatively aim for a 4:30 PST / 7:30 EST start time, so roughly an hour from the time of this post. Keep an eye on the thread as times may change. Hope to see you all there.
SO MUCH MARE AND HORS. Yet, yet there is always room for more Mares and Snowpitty in our hearts. Thanks everyone for inviting them into the cockles of home, hearth and heart.
Hey all. Haven't heard from Flappy yet so I'm not sure if we're doing a pre-show this week, but here is tonight's movie program:
Looney Tunes: The Booze Hangs High (1930)
Our Gang: Railroadin' (1929)
Gods and Generals (part 2/3) (2003)
Mai Rittaru Poni: The Bombing of Pearl Harbor S4 eps 1-4.
Since I haven't heard otherwise, I'm going to assume that Flappy will be doing his usual pre-show, and we will start after his program ends. Either way, I'm going to aim for a start time of around 5:30 PST / 8:30 EST.
>>347564 Sorry I'm late enough to not be able to do the pre-show.
In my defense, Canada just had a major internet and phone service outage that lasted from just before 6am EST until right about now.
No internet, no phone service, no banking with debit cards (though apparently debit cards with a certain bank service worked, and credit cards were supposed to work). Apparently, not even 911 calls worked. Major outages today.
I have the playlist from an earlier week ready to go, but it's nearly a full hour of content. Starting it this late probably wouldn't be a great idea, but I'll keep an eye on the thread in case you still want to run the pre-show.
Sorry everyone, stream is kill for tonight. We will reconvene next week with the conclusion of Gods and Generals. In the meantime, please enjoy this horse pornography.
Evening gents, it's that time again. Due to the technical issues we experienced last week, I've reduced the stream resolution down to 768x432, which I'm hoping will make us less taxing on pon3's resources. I've run some tests and it doesn't look like picture quality has been seriously reduced. I think it's an acceptable tradeoff. If we still experience speed issues I'll try reducing the frame rate down to 30 fps next week, and if after that we still have issues, I might consider going back to JoshWho for movie night. If anyone more knowledgeable than I am about the technical aspects of streaming video has any additional suggestions for how to improve stream performance, I'm open.
Anyway, we only had about ten minutes left on part 2 of G&G last time, so we'll be watching the remainder of part 2 + part 3 tonight. Beyond that our schedule remains the same; if Flappy has a pre-show for us we will begin whenever his stream wraps up. Otherwise, we'll plan on starting around 5:30 PST / 8:30 EST.
Looney Tunes: Smile, Darn Ya, Smile! (1931)
Our Gang: Boxing Gloves (1929)
Gods and Generals (remainder of Part 2 + Part 3 of 3) (2003) The Confederasah shall rise again.
Nipponyos Part IV, The Quickening (1948, colorized) S4 Eps 1-4.
>>348101 I actually have two weeks of playlists ready to go, and made them before Canada Day. This week's playlist has a chunk dedicated to non-pony animation.
I declare that Pony Of The Week for tonight is Trixie.
Here the thingy referenced. Nice thing is the search function works alright. >Talking about PETA doing shit, with the fundamental ethics is kill all the things. As a seemingly isolated ponerlogical (evil stemming) system it mirrors (((New world order, world economic forum))) stances along with the now destroyed (((Georgia guide stones))). Because it also matches with Planned Parenthood (youth sacrificial organization). As in killing of the future. More to the point it follows the same (((playbook))) Now 'schizo' time The hostile entities desire the destruction of the metaphorical and literal light. As in the end of creation/creating. So what's the big deal? It's just a few seemingly imaginary ideas floating around. However, because they seek the removal of all light. Anything or amything related to it is worthless for them (it is actively antithetical for them). So the best move they would do is offer those light based things through proxies to accomplish the checkmate regardless of cost. The reason why they have to disclose what terrible things they will do is to not contain the light inside them. As they do in various sacrificial procedures. Else they have proxies that as in their natural nature to be of the light to hold the light to snuff it out because that too is a by product of the light. Which means they only have a range of ways to actually permanently kill creation.* (*How they can go about doing things is vastly limited compared to beings that are actually supposed to be here and to help. Which is why proxy beings that are hostile yet belong to an extent and also are 'easily' manipulated are used.)
One of this week's features is Missing Out, an animation by Minty Root. We also have two pairs of songs here. An original, and a cover of that song. (One of the songs is a cover of a cover.) I'm also starting to put the Pony Zone audio things in here for the finale.
I have also made it possible to post images directly into the CyTube chat, so that should be fun.
Sorry gang, I completely spaced out what day it was. I'm in a bit of a rush getting things together, but we are still on for tonight.
Looney Tunes: Bosko the Doughboy Our Gang: Bouncing Babies
The Deer Hunter (1978)
Ponies in Japanese
Unfortunately I forgot to prepare the edits of the Jap episodes with the opening and ending changed, and at this point I'm not going to have time to get them done before showtime, so this week we will be back to the standard openings. I will try to have the better openings ready for next week. Sorry about that.
Show will commence as soon as Flappy's prestream wraps up.
>>348852 Pon3 doesnt work for everyone. No doubt, there would be more if not for, and thats recognizing it as the most actionable stream-site for what we do. Nominating John Carpenter's Vampires, while Im on
>>348853 Do you have a preference for a different streaming site? It seems like pon3 has periodic speed issues, so I would be amenable to using another service if anyone has suggestions.
With the image posting ability that I put into the CyTube chat, I tried throwing a few "challenges" to people to post specific themes of images. If the song was about Rainbow Dash, the challenge was to post an RD-related image into the chat before the song ended. I think it might be fun to try doing that a bit more. What do people think about that? Of course, you can use the chat as normal and chill out to the music and animations that we have in the playlist. This is just to use some of the features we have access to and get a little more interaction when the chat seems to have slowed down.
Elway can't make it tonight, so I will be filling in. Movies tonight will be a bit off theme, but I think they will still be fun. First up, Stargate the movie from 1994. Then I am going to try a movie called Runestone from 1991. Then it will be My Little Pony episodes to finish off the night.
After some discussion in last week's chat, there was some interest in watching the 2022 Antithology. I propose we watch an hour of shorter stuff as usual, and then watch the Antithology. Would people like that, or would you prefer to watch only half an hour of content before watching the Antithology?
The Pre-Stream would be starting an hour and fourty-five minutes from now.
Pony of the week is Cloudy Quartz. MILFposting is encouraged, and will be encouraged in the CyTube chat room.
Oops. I was fucking around and lost track of time. I'll be setting up the playlist to have a bit less than an hour of small scale stuff before a run of the 2022 Antithology. ETA is probably about 5-10 minutes from now.
