I think this is true for the majority of grunts. What really matters are the generals, majors, and lieutenants. The left is concentrated in urban centers which can easily be cut off from supplies. They're also much less armed than the right, aside perhaps from a few militant communists and some blacks, the latter of which will probably stop pretending to care about leftism when the social welfare and affirmative action jobs disappear. Many crucial jobs are largely right-leaning, such as farmers, truckers, and mechanics. So are many veterans with military experience. The only important profession in a civil war that I think might lean left is medical personnel, but even then I think the right wouldn't be at too much of a disadvantage.
A gradual balkanization is probably more likely than an actual civil war in the United States though. At least, I think so.

Maybe the Us "government" doesn't want civil war, except they are compromised. They are now loyal to China, or there would have been massive arrests of military, political and corporate operatives domestically.
