>Ben Sasse Calls for Repealing 17th Amendment, Eliminating Popular-Vote Senate Elections
https://archive.is/gqhVJ

>In a Wall Street Journal op-ed titled “Make the Senate Great Again,” Sasse called for an end to the amendment, among other changes to the Senate “aimed at promoting debate, not ending it.”

>He also recommended abolishing standing committees, requiring senators to show up for debates, implementing 12-year term limits, and requiring senators to live together in dorms when in Washington.

>The Nebraskan Senator also suggested ridding the Senate of cameras because in the presence of cameras, Senators “aren’t trying to learn from witnesses, uncover details, or improve legislation. They’re competing for sound bites.“

I, for one, think getting rid of the 17th amendment is a great idea. And the dorm idea isn't half bad either.

>implementing 12-year term limits

>requiring senators to live together in dorms when in Washington
could save money and cause hilarity when lefties attack each other/people and get kicked out of politics for it

All of these proposals sound pretty good to me.
Removing cameras is a great idea. I'm sick of retards using the senate floor to force stupid memes and waste everyone's time.

But how can we know what goes on in the senates without cameras?
What if EVERYTHING in the senate arguments had to be livestreamed online instead?

Everything in the Senate is recorded anyway. It existed long before cameras.
Getting rid of the cameras would mean that drama queens don't waste everyone's time with soundbites.

Live streams can be recorded, meaning it doesn't fix the issue.

Podcasts. I think they used to distribute them on USB sticks or something.

I may hate Sasse because he is Omaha incarnate, but this I agree with
