There are plenty of other imageboards out there.
As for the boards being missing, 4chan has split into seperate "Safe for work" (on "4channel.org") and "Not safe for work" (the regular 4chan) sites, so the owner can cash in on more ad revenue.

im sorry for sounding super ignorant. again i took a break off of 4chan and tbh im not even sure if i was gone for just 2 weeks. All of this might be old news to you but for me this is just now a thing. and tbh i was not aware of the 2nd 4chan site. god i look like such a noob (and i probably am as ive only been on 4chan for like, 2 years.)

That ''really'' depends on what you mean.
If your primary concern is posting speed, then sure, other boards are slower. Since 4chan is basically mainstream at this point.
If your concern is post quality, well I've never been on 4chan so I couldn't comment on their quality compared to anywhere else's.

yea… ive noticed… but seeing something like this really got me.. now that i looked at it i saw that there was the normal boards are still alive. I mean, ive always known that 4chan is dieing… Its just not hit me like it has right now.
and what makes 4chan special in my eyes is 1. the anonymity (yes i know in other boards you can post anonymosly), 2. The absolute freedom and 3. the speed of the posts.

4chan seemed like an untouchable sign of freedom. you can post whatever, say whatever and no-one knowing who you are. Again, i always knew that 4chan is falling and decaying but… i guess i didnt realise it till now…
