Ok, former jewyorker here. If you want to do this, you have to ask to become jewish three times on three different occasions. It's a rule and they won't take you seriously otherwise. It's not like jews go door-to-door to convert you, they don't want converts. That said, you will never be a real jew and they won't accept you. You won't be let in on the secret plans, etc, those are run by dynasties going back generations (think rothschilds, etc.). You will have to tow the liberal line, etc.

I can't see any benefit.

You could become a mormon however. They gladly accept new converts and they will shill for you like nobody's business. You put out the word that you need a job, you will get one. You may even get a traditional wife out of the deal. I have also never met a fat mormon. They are all health obsessed, the wives always stay in great shape.

Downside is, the mormons basically run your life. No alcohol, no caffeine, no fucking around, no debauchery, etc. You will volunteer a lot and participate in church activities. You will give 10% of your salary, and they will get your tax forms to check on you. You will attend services or they will come to check on you.

I have considered joining the mormons, but it's just too cult-like for me.

Personally, I had less of a problem with the 10% than showing my tax forms to prove it. 10% was a common tithe before income tax, and when they passed the income tax, it was widely assumed that the government would never ask for more than the church.
