>>161819Wow. This is beyond Wow.
Best of luck to all. May the OC flow free and the creativity be plentiful.
I admire you, you make Leslie Faire proud.
If I win and this is a big if I will reject half of the pay and the other half over bitcoin my government hates me
You prove that a community is not only the top but the foundation that makes things work
Two questions though:
Are you a nigger?
Are you a warlord?
Keep it up Anon, I admire your dedication and we all can learn something from that.
>>162077>the other half over bitcoinIt might be a good idea to make all the payment on bitcoin now that you mention it.
I'm having some troulbes with paypal and stuff, might be easier that way.
>Are you a nigger?No, i'm just far from home.
>Are you a warlord?Peacekeeper.
>>161819Original /mlpol/ flagfag here
It's been ages since I've made any oc for you guys but I'll probably take part in your battle. What sort of thing do you think you'd most like to see?
>>162501Ah, i like surreal art, but the voting will be public, so do your best anon, you have a broad audience to please!
>>161819In the future, will there be themes? Right now I can see its just posting and creating.
Off to draw!
Wow, I wish I had an ounce of creativity in me. Should of put the prize in the title OP, not much traffic here. Also, Rwandan man giving out 100 dollars on an anonymous image board isn't suspect at all.
>>161819this is a great idea, i think it will help mlpol a lot.
oh and heres a random tutorial i just found
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhVnVGWtCU4hope i can find the motivation to make an entry.
>>162557There will be themes in the future, the first round will be free to see how you do in your confort zone.
>>162601>Should of put the prize in the title OPCan a admin do that?
>>162604That's a cool tutorial, but i must say photomanipulation is also valid if you don't got the skills to draw!
For example, pic relates is 4 pics edited just enough to look good together.
(from webexpedition18.com/work/create-retro-futuristic-poster-design-in-photoshop/)
>>162506The question "What sort of thing do you think youd like most to see" is aimed at the board too. Can be content or style but I guess I won't get an answer. Surreal /mlpol/ could be interesting though.
>>161819>PhotoshopSo what if you use other mediums but photoshop was used to say, add a watermark? Would that be significant because if I compete in this little "competition" and you are giving me a "Month" I think it would be very unfair to everyone else.
There is one thing I wanted to do for a long time, a re-visioning of someone else work, but if you understand my job in real, then you would understand why I am re-visioning someone else's work. It literally is what we get paid to do.
I was traveling at the speed of light when I took this picture, time stood still and I have no ides how many hours I actually spent.
>I look forward to themes so I don't have to use too much of the little imagination I might have
Some random vaporwave crap
>>163469>10,000 hoursBitch wtf? At least decrease the DPI on the insert.
Do you want me to fix it for you?
Anyway, I made 'a thing' over the course of just this afternoon (It wasn't a productive afternoon).
I just need some honest criticism about how I can improve it and don't know where to ask.
You guys are too cool not to ask anyway.
>>164316needs some swastikas and horses.
>>164322Zald. Post fish.
>>164323Sick meme, but this is why people think you're embarrassing to associate with ideologically, because you're a pleb!
Get on my Wehraboo level.
>>164328
That's not what I asked for.
Just gonna throw these two flags I made a while ago in here.
Not really to participate but to give some ideas to uncreative anons like myself
Anyways, this is definitly a great Idea and I will look forward to what comes out of it
>>164327Dont forget to connect your ground harness nwxt time you go out. be a real shame if you fell into the sun,ya sick cunt.
>>164332This is actually a really nice concept, I'm going to use this, you've inspired me.
We need more Wehrmacht-mecha-ponies.
>>164334Glad I could help out a little!
>>164334And if you like that Idea overall, have a look in the "make poners a hate symbol" thread, there are many more posted there
Sorry, all, i lost internet a few days because of an explosives related incident
>>163473The idea is for the general population of mlpol to choose a winner, could be anything really.
>>163473Eh, i said photoshop because it's popular, anything goes, even traditional art, as long as it is mlpol related.
Think of this as a way to force an increase of quality oc for mlpol.
If you guys actually need a theme for this competition, well "life in the third reich" could be a good one.
But i don't want to limit no one with a theme, creativity should have no bounds.
>>164567Oh fuck I hope you're alright after the explosives incident
I also wish you said traditional art was allowed before I just made some gay vaporwave, I would've posted an actual drawing.
>>164567>creativity should have no boundsTry telling that to my brain. lol, but I am glad it is left open for everyone to do what they want. Those who actually are creative will truly be free to create.
>>164332it's a nice start for an emblem.
The ponified SS might look more balanced if the cloud was larger. doesnt really look like a thunder cloud with the bolts coming out of it, instead kinda just looks like it's an out of place puff ball.
>>162501Instead of dropping it all on you guys at once, I figured I would post updates and build some hype. Don't know if I'll have it done by the month's deadline since I'm running other projects and stories but I'm posting bits and pieces of what I'm working on in the drawthread,
>>166627 → >>167049Since it's already 23 and i see so tiny activity, maybe one month is too tight of a deadline for most artists.
Maybe this thing should have a two month deadline?
>>167290I agree that we give people more time. There have been some fantastic OC made and posted in other threads, so there is candidates out there that that is worthy your prize.
>>167290>>167293>Tiny activity>Maybe one month is too tight of a deadline>Maybe this thing should have a two month deadline?Maybe people don't even know about it. This thread only has 16 UIDs so more eyes in the content generated thread (mlpol oc threads) or drawthreads would catch more fish with 100+ UIDs. I understand making a thread about it to try to get people's attention (worked for me) but no harm in announcing it in the other content thread too. It's your contest so run it how you want, just my own observations and two cents on the matter.
Alright, fuck it. Filly is pretty much part of /mlpol/ at this point.
>>161819I totally forgot to mention but i'm pushing the deadline to next month so we can get some more entries and new participants can get more time to do their stuff.
>>167785Friendship ended with 4chan, now /mlpol/ is my best friend.
>>161819>must have a throwaway mail along with your entry so you can recieve the prize if you win.Whelp, guess I'm winning for now then.
>>167794>winningThe least you could do is make some actual new content for mlpol instead of just reposting
>>167574 → >>168245Well, now you've got me feeling all guilty. The takeaway from that message should've been that people should actually post throwaway emails for their shit. But yeah, maybe I will make something else.
>>164265Casting my vote for this.
>>167789This. Fuck /mlp/ and fuck pic related
Fuck
I tried but even though all this time I was too messed up to get anything decent done
Still I think OP is the very opposite of a faggot, he is what we need
Here's just a shitpost, I don't expect to win anything
>>170105bonus points for creativity
>>170105This is actually kind of nice.
Gib mail.
I've been working on what would be a cool logo for /mlpol/, but I haven't come up with anything that I'm content with. Since this is somewhat of a "judge OC thread", though I could get some ideas on how to come up with someting nicer.
>>175263>>175263these look all pretty rad. i like #4 best
>>175263I honestly don't know what you're talking about, these look bretty gud.
>>175304I don't know, I was thinking of which symbol could represent what /mplol/ is and appealing enough to use as identifier at some point.
But none of them convince me as much as the eagle based one did.
The original one is great an all, but is somewhat too busy to be appealing as a small logo.
And mine, although decent, almost look like a car logo, or a necklage, and still too busy for my liking.
I think I went on the right direction with the moon-luna symbol, but the black sun in the background still doesn't convince me.
Basically, I'm looking for ideas for small symbols I could use and assemble into a single picture that would scream /mlpol/. That is, not assembling symbols of both /pol/ and /mlp/, but merging them into one.
>>175330#1 has been done exhaustively, #2 and #4 are nice desu, but I absolutely don't care about #3 and totally won't be using it in the very near future. I swear, I'm telling the truth.
>>175331First one is the original flag tho, I didn't make that one, it was just an example of the feel I was looking for.
I think I'm going to simplify the pony head in the black sun, remove the wing, play with the colors, and perhaps come up with something else, idk
Testing a few more combinations and designs, changed the wing, the colors, even vectorize them.
But I'm still not 100 happy with the results.
Why can't I be satisfied no matter how hard I try?
>>175593Its called "the Maker's Eye". The person who creates something, or endeavors to refine something is never satisfied; there's always 'something missing' or 'something more that can be done/applied'. On one end of the spectrum its the driving force behind progress and development, in other cases it can stifle decisiveness and lead to counter-production.
In your case, I think they're excellent, and worthy representations of the site. I especially like the one indicated (the previous #3) as well as this #1. Don't stress yourself about it, they're all wonderful contributions (I particularly like the colorization).
>>175610One rarely ever "finishes" anything, you just run of time or motivation to do anything further. Without some type of deadline or 3rd party pressure to deliver something, a lot of things end up never seeing the light of day.
My dumb ass autisticly held up a project for damn near 2 fucking decades because of it. You only get one chance at a first impression, and usually after that few care, so I wasn't willing to let it go until it was "right".
>>175610I've been satisfied with my work before, just sometimes it requires a few tweaks here and there, coming back to it a few weeks/months later usually fixes the issue, but I sort of understand "Maker's Satisfaction" is not something you can just "make it happen", but I can still be autistic about it.
I've been messing with the colors today, hope there's something interesting sticks out.
Thanks for the kind words.
>>175660>My dumb ass autisticly held up a project for damn near 2 fucking decades because of it>2 decadesThat's a little overkill anon. I sort of understand the issue of wanting to be perfect, but I don't think I could stuck with the same project for so long without some sort of advancement. I could understand a long term series, or some king of product that evolves overtime, but a single product? Unless I was doing something crazy like working on a new revolutionary type of engine or other mayor project, I don't think I could stuck for that long working on it. Still, cheers on that devotion.
>>176134>that evolves overtimeIt was partially that, with breaks between evolutions (I'd've gone absolutely batshit if it was the sole thing I worked on for the whole span). Part of it was it was collaborative, and the lineup of other people kept changing, voiding their contributions. Typically right around the time I'd had the whole in a state I'd have heavily considered releasing it in.
>>176134#3 & 5, 4 as a runner up
>>176135#1, 2, & 5
>>176137#1, 2, & 3
>savedOthers r good, but those are ready for prime-time desu
