>>15693I was just about to make this thread.
It looks like things are getting pretty serious. It looks like the White House might be deciding it doesn't want to stay idle for that much longer. I doubt the year will end without some kind of happening, for better or for worse.
>>15693It's unusual for the entire Senate to be summoned for a briefing. Did you read anything hinting at what the objective of this meeting was?
They need to be glassed. Once Nk can threaten other countries its going to try extorting sanction removal.
>>15698Video rel. of course.
>youtube.com/watch?v=hS57I6swXccBut honestly? Prep for a happening, just in case.
>>15703This.
We need to do something before they develop any real, threatening projectiles.
>>15705The question is what we can safely do without fucking over Seoul…
>>15707Or Tokyo… you might loose friends in response honestly. Not only literally.
>>15708>>15707Good thing I don't live anywhere near those places
>>15711Yeah well, but Kimmy might vaporize California in return. Or maybe even part of Europe. Depends on what will happen and what he is capable of.
>>15714Both of these options sound beneficial tbh
>>15714>Kim Jong Un gets rid of Antifa and a third of America's cucks and Marxists, while we get rid of Kim Jong UnI'm not really understanding the problem here
>>15714I doubt his missiles can reach California, or even Hawaii for that matter.
That doesn't mean we should just sit on our hands until they can though.
>>15716Yeah well that is fine, worse if he decides to make Europe shine. You uys at least have Rocky Mountains to shield you.
Mods, if you're going to sticky this thread and unsticky the French Election thread, can you unsage the French election thread?
>>15721It's autosaging due to post count. I'm going to see if we can't raise to 500
>>15719You think he could reach Europe? That sounds even less feasible than California.
>>15726Saw soem graph on NK potential nuclear arsenal ICBM's. Well Warsaw, for instance, is in range. Rome too. I hate my capital but would hate to rebuild it SECOND TIME in 70 years.
Maybe we can finally get rid of North Korea.
>>15728Why would he target that though?
>>15707South Korea probably wants to bomb Pyongyang and then begin an invasion. My problem is that so many civilians have been brainwashed to believe that Kim is god. These people will literally fight to the death for him.
>>15703Let me reiterate my point. Right now only Seoul is his protection. But as soon as he gets the chance to upgrade range, it'll soon be Tokyo and Seoul, or Beijing and Seoul. He can start doing gang/mafia style extortion against the countries around him. It's past the point of no return. Seoul might have to take one for the team.
>>15736In actuality there have been many protests to his rule, the thing is though you need a passport just to go to different areas of the country, lockdowns can happen easily and any form of protest or rioting is crushed with military force.
My aunt (by marriage) is actually from North Korea and shes told me stories of the place from her own personal accounts. Public executions are commonplace and everyone is required to have a TV to watch the executions or "public announcements" from the government, electricity is "regulated" so that they only get it during holidays like Kims Birthday and its to power the TV's for a few hours to continue pushing their propaganda. Back under the rule of Kim Jong Il they orginally had a 3 strike system when it came to escaping the country, if you were caught 3 times you were executed and now under Un its been changed to if you get caught once they kill you, your family, and close friends.
Long story short, even the Norks want the USA and S. Korea to nuke the shithole.
>>15714>Kimmy might vaporize CaliforniaWhy would best Korea help the United States?
honestly probably just discussing heavily with China. My guess is that China and SK will handle this because its their problem, and their geopolitical interests at risk.
Only scenario I could think of as to why we would get involved is because we want to test out our weapons and give our generals some experience in the new missile warfare meta. Also it would reenforce our role as world police, signaling to Russia that we will not allow them to relentlessly exert their sphere of influence.
I kind of get tired of people thinking the N Korea are a threat but it needs to be said. They do not have any nuclear weapons. It is quite likely that they have never tested any nuclear warheads. The estimated amount of enriched fuel they have would make 10 bombs similar in size to Nagasaki.
If they did have warheads and they did decide to bomb cities the maximum amount of death would be 1.5 million people which is tiny. Even if the directed all ten bombs on Tokyo that would be 1/10th the population of Tokyo. Remembering that they would have to deal with complete annihilation for that act.
Yes they do have conventional missiles that would reach the US but death toll would be minimal and retribution instant.
They do have a standing army and one to one combat in N Korea would give the US the biggest death toll they have had since WW2 but I really do no see a ground force as a realistic option unless it is just supportive of the South.
My thinking is that Trump is going to attack. He is going to drop some big bunker busting bombs on the test alleged test sites and he going to this as the slightest bit of real provocation.
North Korea is now in the position to negotiate a peace or be divided into three with China, Russian and US taking all the spoils.
Remember this:
https://vid.me/yQMoAs when the narrative changes we can all see how the try and hide it.
>>16077Sorry slight exaggeration because plenty of soldiers died in Veitnam and the original Korean war. Being English I kind of forget that from time to time.
>>16099/pol/ couldn't afford me.
is this still a pressing issue?
