Does anyone else like older tech? I usually like computers and OS's from the 80's. If you have some old computers you like...plz share them
I have kind of a fetish for old Macs and Mac operating systems, because that's what I grew up on. I mostly run things on emulators for convenience, but I have a Mac Plus, an original iMac from 2000, a Color Classic, and I used to have a Performa but it died on me. I'm hoping to track down a Mac LC like the first machine my family ever had.
Unfortunately running older hardware can be kind of a pain in the ass so like I said, most of the time I just run an emulator on a modern system, but I really enjoy running old software on old equipment.
I have freedos installed on a partition, it's very very comfy. The OS and the programs. If only I could get soundblaster support on this laptop.
I have a Personal System/2 but the clock is dead and I don't feel comfortable replacing it.
I also have a home computer that I don't have a CRT for.
I'm interested in using older computers so I can browse the internet with out the kikerosoft tracking everything I do.
>tfw still running my shit on a LG flatron screen
I don't imagine using an old computer or OS because video games and software/hardware improvements are actually amazing
>love my 30 year old sennheiser headphones
>30 year old truck
hopefully I'll be able to 3d print parts for it in the coming decades since the junk yards are running out, thanks obama
>30+ year old tools

>tfw you will never get to take an LCD monitor and build it into a CRT monitor's casing purely for the aesthetic
>>1251What for? Just get a CRT. If you're lucky you can pick up a high-end one for cheap
