The jist is that Earth is extra ordinarily important (the value of that is changes) to many beings for one reason or another good or evil or amoral. The totality is all of that reflected again and again to a solid.

'Higher' entities more 'abstract' want their own little (ie relatively absolutely massive, with never before seen content and mystery) playground of sorts.

So this was some of their last ditch attempt to try manipulating and influencing me. After that they get nothing, and I just reuse the energy they give me (mental compulsions turned toward my own uses instead of what they wanted). So they would do what they could to try getting that last slice of the pie, and I would be stuck swatting at gnats. (Too big to fail is a lie! Bigger means bigger target.) Large waste of effort and they wouldn't get anything from me that they actually want.
What I got is one small little thing. Well probably quite a few small little things.

I help those that want to help me in my endeavors and those that desire it. For a vast majority of the time it's a crapshoot in spent time and energy and action (but I have a more than infinite task force ready and willing to go on an adventure or simply solve problems) some places that do want to help me in my time of need (aka Earth physical stuff) is great.
In both cases it's mutually beneficial.
