/ub/ I've seen many of you encourage each other on the internet, but what if we started a community/fraternity in real life? We could help each other network and find jobs in addition to our usual self improvement routines. We could teach each other skills or board together too. I would suggest a town with both a 4 year university and a trade school so people can pursue higher education. What other criteria should our (at this point hypothetical community) need?

I think we still have time before the boogaloo. We should use that time to build a small community and generate capital. We can then use that capital to buy land so we can build our off grid paradise before the boog even happens.

I haven't visited this site in months and I come back to see I'm two months late to be the first guy to respond to this. Sorry for taking my sweet time checking back in, folks.
I can vouch for the cheapness of land in Lake County and Harney County, Oregon. Burns is a half-city environment where jobs seem aplenty and of varying value and rent is only $300-400 a month for an apartment; Christmas Valley is much more expensive in terms of utilities but just as cheap if not moreso for land. With likeminded and energetic youth there I can promise that the communities can find growth. I've been working on landscaping/farmer work for a while, hunting sagerats and gophers and cleaning up my grandpa's household. I've learned a lot, despite still having trouble escaping the city-boy mindset, and I would absolutely love to meet you folks here if you did come.
Christmas Valley isn't the best, but with Blazin' Hog broadband download speeds are tolerable and it really doesn't take much to set your own business up around here. With enough cooperation any shitty boomer-retirement shanty-town can be turned into the next Orania. Realtor is around the center of the main road for in-person meetings, if you're in the PNW already and are alright with being two hours from (((civilization))).

OH, also. Alfalfa is a crop commonly grown both in CV and the Princeton area near Burns. Low temperatures are somewhat sporadic through the year, so some crops may die in the night if weather decides to be a cunt. So far though the weather has been very nice since I moved out here.
