why are we archiving that which will soon burn along with the world?
I used to be for raw archival, but then I struggled with the fact that the Bible commands against sexual sin, including lust. So i realized i was advocating to preserve and make more easily available images directly against God. I have to say now instead, that i don't want to preserve images of sin, like lust.
But also, the Bible is strong against magic, divination, casting spells, and communicating with spirits. It compares magic to adultery against God, and compares rebellion in general to be as the sin of witchcraft.
So, is it not also the case, that the Bible says casting spells is a sin, and so why are Christians who are trying to follow the Bible participating with images of characters casting spells? Why do things like snowponies get popular but then images get made of them interacting with tribal spirits, and it seems cool and everyone just enjoys it without thinking of it more? these things we are ignoring are abominations to God. Jesus said to be perfect as the Father is perfect.
For non-Christians, I know you don't choose to follow the Bible, so I'm not arguing this at you directly. For non-Christians what needs to be said is that, for all sin in general, Jesus said that if we do not repent, then we will all perish. if we don't believe in Him then we will die in our sins, but whoever believes in Him will live even if he dies.
for Christians, I ask you, why do we love this thing of the world, which God calls an abomination? and which 1 John says do not love, since it is a thing in the world and a desire of the eyes, but is not from the Father, and all the desires and things in the world will be destroyed soon?
So why should we hold onto that which the Father abhors?
For me I've still wanted to be a part of the pony community, so i thought to get around it by drawing anonfilly only, not drawing cutiemarks since they are magic, drawing only OCs, etc. it's bandaid fixes really
Jesus called us to become His disciples, but said it will cost our entire lives to do so. I'm pretty sure that to fulfill all He says in the gospels, it requires losing friends, family, losing our comfy place in the pony community, even giving up all our own possessions (literally spoken by Jesus as a requirement before even being able to become a disciple, in Luke 14:33)
We as Christians are supposed to live in the same way as Jesus did (1 John 2:6). So, we are commanded to take up our own crosses daily and follow Him. We are supposed to ourselves go out into every nation and preach the gospel of the kingdom of heaven, the words directly He said to preach in the 4 gospels.
He said in the great commission in Mark to go make more disciples, and that the miracles of healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons, etc. will follow those who believe. So, we are supposed to be seeking to obey these things and getting to that point of actually working the harvest and doing these things daily, not as random miracles.
Jesus taught the disciples that when you enter a city, heal all who are sick there and preach the gospel, then move on. He said in the great commission in Mark to make new disciples of all nations, "teaching them to keep all I taught you". So we too are supposed to seek Him for the faith to act like the disciples did and go out on faith to do the work of the harvest, to go out and not put down roots building ministries and building our lives, but to go to places on faith without needing to take money, then preach and heal there, and move on to the next place
So, I'm still working on this myself, but i have to say it because we are led to believe that Christianity allows us to go to church and abstain from a few sins and then otherwise live completely normal, when Jesus said it actually costs our whole lives, and that we will inherit and rule in the kingdom of heaven if we do it.

There's a list of which verses have a difference between a subset of finds. Most of those are a spelling error, a word order change which doesn't affect the grammar, or adding/omitting a word which doesn't change the meaning. There's only a couple times where an entire phrase or verse itself is in question, and the list gives the percentage of finds both appears in (as in, it indicates which is the higher likelyhood choice of original).
So, we have Greek that predates the Catholic church stuff. Whether they edited anything or made translation errors or not, it's moot, because we have original documents which agree in the Greek itself, and the ancient Greek language itself used is well understood by scholars and not mysterious in translation today.
We have a lot of archeological evidence supporting that the old testament didn't change either.
If you doubt a translation, you can search a verse and use "interlinear" in the query and it will pull up sites with the original Hebrew/Greek alongside the literal English words, and you can click on numbers above the words to see the definition and other uses of that original word throughout the Bible.

It has already been prophesied; it's not divination to know the scripture says the world will burn, and everything in it will be destroyed. Confused how you're even claiming that.
My point isn't "abstain from all things in life and live closed-in and sterile"
My point is what Jesus said, repent and believe in Him for forgiveness of sin so you can survive judgement day. Then He said to take up your cross and follow Him, to go out into the whole world and preach the gospel too. It's a time for intentional labor not a time for relaxed comfort.
One thing Jesus talked about in the last days, is that when the Son of Man returns, it will be as obvious as when lightning flashes in the sky from the east to the west. He said on that night, if you are on the roof, do not go back into your house to grab possessions. If you are in the field, do not try to go back to your house. He said "remember Lot's wife". Whoever tries to preserve their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for His sake will find it.
So there will come a point where we will all have to choose that drastically. So be ready and don't let possessions or communities or family be more important than obeying Jesus.
For today, I'm saying it is worthless eternally to spend time distracted in entertainment. It's fun but there's no value. There's eternal value in obeying Jesus' instructions, including going out and preaching the gospel everywhere. That brings souls into God's kingdom, which is His desire. Jesus said we will be rewarded for being faithful in doing these little instructions now.

It has already been prophesied; it's not divination to know the scripture says the world will burn, and everything in it will be destroyed. Confused how you're even claiming that.
My point isn't "abstain from all things in life and live closed-in and sterile"
My point is what Jesus said, repent and believe in Him for forgiveness of sin so you can survive judgement day. Then He said to take up your cross and follow Him, to go out into the whole world and preach the gospel too. It's a time for intentional labor not a time for relaxed comfort.
One thing Jesus talked about in the last days, is that when the Son of Man returns, it will be as obvious as when lightning flashes in the sky from the east to the west. He said on that night, if you are on the roof, do not go back into your house to grab possessions. If you are in the field, do not try to go back to your house. He said "remember Lot's wife". Whoever tries to preserve their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for His sake will find it.
So there will come a point where we will all have to choose that drastically. So be ready and don't let possessions or communities or family be more important than obeying Jesus.

Jesus did say something tangential though. He said "there are eunuchs who were born that way, there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who made themselves that way for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. let him who can accept it, accept it"
To my understanding that means, to some people it is given to live without getting married (not as castrating themselves physically). And the point would be to spend more focus on serving God. Paul talked about it similarly, that the unmarried have undivided focus for God, but married people have the obligation to also focus on and please their spouse, so it's not as efficient. Paul said he thought it better for people to do like him and not get married, to focus on the work of the gospel. but he said that because of the difficulty of the passion, "it is better to marry than to burn"
It is possible to stay chaste before marriage btw. Even after decades of porn use. Jesus said if we ask anything in His name, He will do it. And He said don't lose heart, but ask the Father every day and He will act in your case.
So, if you are single and it feels impossible to not lust, you can pray, telling God that you want to obey and not lust, but that it feels impossible and you don't know how. Or that you want to choose that but it feels impossible to want to choose. You can ask Him to give you the ability to stop doing it and to stop feeling the infinite urge to do it. It's possible to live without lust affecting you at all even in the presence of temptation. Jesus said ask it in His name.
And don't lose heart. Jesus said it's supposed to happen immediately if we have enough faith. Jesus also said expect the Father to answer quickly when you keep persisting in prayer. But if it seems to draw out, don't lose heart, but keep asking, and it eventually has to happen. It's impossible for Jesus' words to fail
If you have issues with it seeming to take a long time to receive what you pray for, why not ask the Father to fix that too? Like, ask Him to make you able to pray and believe instantly instead of it taking a long time.
The disciples at first couldn't cast out a demon despite Jesus giving them the authority to do it. Jesus said it was because a lack of faith. But then in the book of Acts, the disciples were walking around the city, instantly healing people and casting out demons at will in faith.
So just because it seems impossible, doesn't mean it has to stay that way. You can pray and ask, and it will be given to you to do the same things the apostles did.
Jesus said to make more disciples, and that those signs will follow those who believe.
If you take it seriously and want to get to that point, note that the disciples were taught to live a very specific lifestyle, to give up all possessions, to go out to cities in a certain way, to preach and heal a certain way, etc. So count the cost if you really want to do just like they did, because I don't think we get a free pass to get part while ignoring how Jesus and the apostles lived

Here it's as if we're scared of social stigma and that's enough to silence the gospel, where in other countries even mutilation and death can't stop people from sharing the gospel. Jesus warned against the churches in revelation which were lukewarm or cold, while praised the ones zealous in service.
Jesus said to one of the churches in revelation that they were miserable, poor, blind and naked, and couldn't see it. So He said buy from Him eye salve, clean garments, and gold refined in the fire.
James says trying to be friends with the world is committing adultery against God. that it's double-minded.
