Very little news is posted about Argentine politics so let's get started for 2025.
Argentina's Economic Transformation
In the early 20th century Argentina was one of the richest countries in the world with a GDP per capita on par with the U.S. and boasting 50% of South America's GDP. She is one of the whitest South American countries and at the time she was benefiting from booming trade and international capital investment. Unfortunately the 30's saw instability rock the country and when Peron took power he socialized the economy and instituted autarky as the trade policy. Peronism became deeply embedded in Argentine politics and the country slid into third-world status, but it remained dominant until last year when Javier Milei was elected.
When he took office last December, inflation was at a level of 25.5% per month and he has brought it down to 2.7 as of October. By 2023, public employees ballooned to 343k and now they're down to 309k and there are more cuts on the horizon. Poverty is looking to finally decline and currency exchange rates are normalizing. This improvement has been despite having only a small minority of congressional seats. Kirchnerists (left-wing Peronists) had strengthened presidential powers without realizing how they would be used by their opposition.
>inb4 Milei is a Zionist Jew-lover
>inb4 he sucks up to ZOG
That is a real fault and he deserves criticism for that. If he's serious about it then hopefully he reconsiders, especially with pressure from his own party as ideologically it opposes Zionism. Geopolitically he needs to suck up to ZOG because the powerful Peronist bloc is supported by BRICS, and there needs to be some international backing for his country to remain stable. Lately Milei become fast friends with Trump and their cooperation will help both leaders.
No matter what hurdles exist, we should celebrate whenever a non-globohomo ideologue takes control of a country. A lot of neighsayers including libertarians like to focus on negatives instead of the bigger picture. Fascism in Romania and radical libertarianism in Argentina are very different ideologically yet each will represent a victory for us.
Thanks to Milei's efforts his radical ideals are growing in popularity both in Argentina and around the world when previously they would be unheard of. His coalition has posted this ten-point list for radical action or "Libertarian Leninism":
