Did someone try to assassinate Trump? If so I'd expect it to be bigger news; a search for "trump assassination attempt" doesn't yield much of anything. There's a thread currently stickied on /pol/ but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of actual information there either which is no surprise these days.

Doesn't seem like there's much information so far, but it looks like shots were actually fired during a rally in PA. His ear appears to have been injured but he is otherwise unscathed. Presumably we'll know more in a few hours.

Possible, but you do risk pat down if you are wearing something that typically conceals a gun. So, it was either a very shitty assembly on a slim design which can explain the bad shot, or it was just a failure to properly check for a weapon.

Given there were multiple shots, I doubt it was that shitty of a plastic gun if it was. I imagine there is a lot of chance of failure on a printed gun if you design it specifically to bypass security. I am guessing it was just a standard pistol and he found some way to get it by metal detectors.
