Well, what you describe (and I'll admit its just a description) involves a LOT of change and redirection. You're basically trying to dictate to port Barry what they should be doing, and when they should be doing.
The reason that the ne'ers (I'm going with that for reference) were receptive to Thez starting Fight Club was 'cuz they were already there, and she offered to pay for their night's services if they played a game with her. Lewdness aside, they were already on scene, with a deliberate goal in mind, and she made it so they could MORE easily attain their goal by participating in her's.

If a training field cannot be completed for another month or six months, then so be it. They shall train in an agricultural field. If it takes a full week just to organize who is competent to train others, then so be it. If three weeks is only half the time it takes to get a group of soldiers to the bare minimum of group cohesion and discipline, then so be it. It will be another three weeks or month or two months even after the conclusion of the three week cinematic before he has any Crusader Knights to help him, then so be it.
